cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2006 I was surprised that no one else started a thread. I would have earlier but was too wrapped up in the U of L/Rutgers hype. Anyway, here are the games and predictions. Sunday 1:00: NY Jets (4-4) at New England (6-2): NE is usually solid coming off a loss and the Jets don't really rock my world or anything. Pats by 10. Kansas City (5-3) at Miami (2-6): Will the Dolphins keep it going after beating the Bears? Will Huard continue his hot play? I'm not real sure either way, but I'll go with the Dolphins here to keep their jobber run going. Miami by 3. San Diego (6-2) at Cincinnati (4-4): The Bengals flat out must win this game if they want to stay in the playoff hunt. That said, Chargers are better so unless they really screw up they should take this. SD by 7. Buffalo (3-5) at Indianapolis (8-0): I can't see the Colts losing that 1st game at home to the Bills. Yet I also don't think this is a huge squash for some reason. Indy by 10. Baltimore (6-2) at Tennessee (2-6): The Ravens are the epitome of a man's team. They should keep it rolling hear and smash the Titans fairly easy. Baltimore by 14. Houston (2-6) at Jacksonville (5-3): The Jags seem back on track with Garrard in the game. Sure, Houston shocked them earlier but it won't happen twice. JAX by 13. Washington (3-5) at Philadelphia (4-4): A curious matchup. Oddly I think both teams might be better than the record indicates, and since Philly has this at home I'll take them by 7. Green Bay (3-5) at Minnesota (4-4): Packers always have had trouble in Minnesota, and the fliratation with decency looks to be over. Vikings by 9. San Francisco (3-5) at Detroit (2-6): How the hell are the Niners 3-5? I think the Lions can be dangerous at home, at least enough to beat the Niners. Detroit by 4. Cleveland (2-6) at Atlanta (5-3): The Falcons are a baffling team, capable of looking wonderful one week and losing to the Lions the next. Still, this is the Browns we're talking about here. Atlanta rebounds and wins by 14. 4:00 Denver (6-2) at Oakland (2-6): This should be a boring affair similar to the first meeting. Raiders have been surprisingly dangerous at times at home, but I can't see them winning here. Denver in another snoozer, 17-3. New Orleans (6-2) at Pittsburgh (2-6): Steelers are reeling and the Saints continue to do well this year. For some reason though I can't help but think the Steelers bear down at home and pull this one off, 28-24. St. Louis (4-4) at Seattle (5-3): First matchup was great, this one I dunno so much. Rams really should have won the first meeting and I think they will take this one 34-31. Dallas (4-4) at Arizona (1-7): The ultimate humiliation for the Cowboys would be to lose here. Not even I am so cruel as to predict that however. Dallas by 10. 8:15: Chicago (7-1) at NY Giants (6-2): Giants are incredibly banged out right now and the Bears will look to rebound from the embarrassing loss last week. I can't see the Giants winning one. Bears by 7. Monday 8:30: Tampa Bay (2-6) at Carolina (4-4): This is the MNF game? Meh. Panthers should get somewhat back on track and win here by 14 or so. naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2006 Giants 21, Bears 20. The Gross Man comes through in the clutch with a late pick leading to an Eli TD drive with Plaxico F'n Burress pulling it down between traffic. He has back spasms, but he practiced yesterday and was able to talk trash about the Bears' DBs so he should be good to go.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2006 Grossman is overrated in terms of decision making. He has a strong arm and all that, but he makes a bunch of shitty throws even in wins. The Giants defense is banged up so he'll probably get away with it, but I still expect him to choke on a key play which will lead to the Giants winning the game in the last 2 minutes. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2006 The Colts should squash, but this is the team who only beat the Titans by 1 recently. Could be a mild letdown after the insane Denver/NE back to back. Still, JP Losman trying to end the Colts' streak? Incidentally, why does CBS only show some games in HD? Fox has all their games in HD. I know Houston vs. Jacksonville has all the appeal of a damp rag, but if you're a major network you need to show all the games in HD. Could be a mild letdown after the insane Denver/NE back to back. Still, JP Losman trying to end the Colts' streak? Forget that nonsense. The Bills' secondary is depleted and the young kids still haven't grasped the Cover 2 defense. Especially McGee, as teams have picked on him all year. Now, he gets Reggie Wayne and a QB that the Bills will struggle to get any pressure on. And the Bills answer to keeping Indy's offense off the field is Anthony Thomas. Colts are scoring 40. teke184 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 Rock on... looks like I get the New Orleans/Pittsburgh 4 PM game. Gonna be fun to watch Bush. Bush may as well wear a red-and-white striped uniform and helmet, as in "Where's Bush?", when it comes to the offensive production. Drew Brees, Marques Colson, Joe Horn, and Devery Henderson have been running the show for about the past month, while Deuce and Bush have done little on the ground. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 11, 2006 teke has a good point there, and also furthers my point that the Saints would have been MUCH better off addressing their offensive line than taking Bush. I mean, they're doing well for themselves now, but they'd be even better as they'd have a stronger line to run behind. Yep... Same reason that a tiny slice of south Mississippi, somewhere around Kiln, gets the Packers game this week. Ah, then that might also explain why the top half of Alaska gets the game.. One of the Packers' rookie tackles (Daryn Colledge, 2nd rd pick out of Boise St.) is from North Pole, AK. Can't explain southwest Arizona/southeast California though. naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 You guys simply don't understand that the THREAT Reggie Bush presents on the field is largely responsible for the production Drew Brees, Marques Colston, Joe Horn, and Devery Henderson have been combining for of late. I don't actually believe that, but some talking head said that recently and amazingly didn't bust out in laughter as he told that lie.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2006 But, I was told that Reggie Bush was the greatest NFL RB ever before he played a snap. They said he had that potential. The hype got into defensive coordinator's heads. He really doesn't touch the ball that much, but when he does everyone still freezes for a second, so even using him as a decoy is extremely effective. The margin for error is simply smaller in the NFL, and for a rookie he's pretty darned good. 'sides, look at what happens when you run a potentially elite guy too much early on in Tampa Bay. Joey Harrington ended the Bears' streak last week, so don't rule anything out yet. let's not kid ourselves here...at least Joey Harrington can mix in a TD or two in between all of those INTs. Lushus, speaking from an NFC North fan's perspective, I can say with complete honesty that Harrington was the sole reason the Packers were able to win all those games against the Lions when they had their worst days en route to 3 straight division titles. In fact, when they switched out Culpepper for Harrington, I breathed out a sigh of relief. Even with the bad knee, Culpepper had always been better against us than Harrington. Joey was never any good in the NFL, and not even that much in college, just another overhyped Pac-10 QB (Kyle Boller, Cade McNown, etc. etc.). I haven't watched the AFC East as much as you have obviously, but Losman has an excuse to suck in that he hasn't played enough games and has never had weapons around him. Wasn't last season his first full one as a starter? He's not very good, but he sure as hell shows more potential than Harrington.
