Vampiro69 Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 LOS ANGELES — Jack Palance, the craggy-faced menace in "Shane," "Sudden Fear" and other films who turned to comedy at 70 with his Oscar-winning role in "City Slickers," died Friday. Palance died of natural causes at his home in Montecito, Calif., surrounded by family, said spokesman Dick Guttman. Palance was 85 according to Associated Press records. The family indicated he was 87.
Guest NYankees Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 I just saw that. I was watching City Slickers 2 a couple of weeks ago and wondering to myself how is this man still alive because he looked older than dirt in that movie which came out over a decade ago. He was a hell of an actor though. RIP Jack.
Guest Felonies! Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Congratulations on a long and successful life. I'd watch Angels Revenge in honor of Jack but I lent it to somebody.
Darthtiki Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 The one thing I remember about him was when he did one arm pushups during his acceptance for City Slickers. RIP
In Credible Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Wow I thought he died a while ago. RIP Curly.
BlackFlagg Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 "You all saw him, he had a gun." RIP
Ted the Poster Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Aw man, this sucks. I'm gonna go watch Outlaw. See ya, Jack. You'll be missed.
Downhome Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I also thought that he died years ago, but I think I was thinking of Lloyd Bridges instead for some reason. Either way, the news is sad but you can't really feel too bad about it since he lived a long, successful, interesting life.
vivalaultra Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Shane is still one of my favorite movies ever. Jack Palance was perfect in that movie.
Toshiaki Koala Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 One of the baddest men who ever lived. RIP.
Guest Felonies! Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 I hope I'm that healthy when I'm in my 70s.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 I enjoyed his role in Batman as well. RIP Jack.
