Guest Brian Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 The first plan was actually Rock/Austin at WrestleMania 18 after Austin held the title for a year with a short Triple H reign during the summer probably. But a number of things happened that changed that; Austin's heel turn died, they turned HHH heel and HHH got injured. They got lucky with the WCW push and actually Booker came out looking strong and they thought they could prolong the eventual Austin/Rock confrontation, but they turned Austin after Survivor Series and got nothing out of Rock/Austin for it.
Guest Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 Well, here are my thoughts on this whole situation.. To put it frankly, I am royally pissed at Austin. I wouldn't give two shits if it didn't effect others, but it did. I see people saying how Austin is just doing it for the good of the company. Bull shit. This is for Stone Cold, and Stone Cold only. If he weren't being completely selfish he would have completed his duties on Raw. But no, he decides to walk out. This leaves Guererro and Benoit angleless, since they were in the middle of a Horsemen/Austin fued. Flair just pointlessly seemed to turn face on Raw, with all reports saying "what will Austin do to Flair Monday?" There were two big angles riding on Austin, that are now ruined because he's an immature 2nd grader who can't approach his problems in an adult manner. Instead he leaves the fans and superstars hanging. Chris and Eddie were in for very good size pushes, which are now ruined because of one man. You know Austin, if you are going to pull this shit, don't do it when you are in the middle of getting wrestlers over, especially in an angle YOU asked for. Seriously though, what gives Austin the right to bitch over everyone else? Jericho has been stuck in matches with Mark Henry and Farooq for fucks sake. HHH actually lost to Test, Angle has been giving Edge a huge rub for months now, Rocky put over Rhyno, and was in a fued with Test before. Do you see any of them walking out on the company when the main angles are resting on their shoulders? No, you don't. That's because they have respect for their fellow superstars, the fans that paid to see them, and the other workers. I understand that Austin carried the WWF for numerous years, but that is all being reversed right now as he is contributing to the company now being sloshed around in the gutter. Things were finally getting better, I was beginning to thoroughly enjoy Raw again, something I haven't done in a while. The ratings are inching their way up. Now, the top draw on the Raw roster has to pull his babyish tactics. Now, Austin can be upset with his position and dislike the writing, but deal with it a professional manner that won't be suddenly effecting the entire company.
Guest cabbageboy Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 I have been thinking of a way to tie the Austin thing to my own life. I have figured it out. When I was 15 I was playing baseball for a league but I wasn't really as good as I used to be. Never adjusted well to the bigger field when I was 13. I was sitting the bench at times, didn't like my coach very much, in short I didn't like where my baseball experience was going. In fact when I was taken out of a game one time my dad came to the dugout and said something like "Well if you aren't gonna play, let's go home. Fuck em." I didn't go home. I stayed and at least watched the rest of the game from the bench, even though I didn't like being taken out or having my role reduced. I didn't complain about it either, but when the season was over I stopped playing baseball since it was no fun anymore. This is why I think Austin is a dickhead. What he did was basically go home during the game. It just goes against what I would do in the same situation.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 People really, REALLY, need to find better analogies.
