cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2006 Here are the upcoming games for NFL Week 15 followed by the usual thoughts and predictions: Thursday 8:00: San Francisco (5-8) at Seattle (8-5): Niners got a win in the first game, but I can't see them sweeping the series and getting a road win here. Seahawks by 7. Saturday 8:00: Dallas (8-5) at Atlanta (7-6): Atlanta is really banged up, Cowboys are coming off an ugly beatdown. This one is a tossup really, but in these situations go with who needs it more. Falcons by 4. Sunday 1:00: Jacksonville (8-5) at Tennessee (6-7): Jags are a very bizarre team, amazing at home and wretched on the road. Titans are on a Jobber Roll and Vince Young is a madman. You know what this means.....Titans by 3. Houston (4-9) at New England (9-4): This one should, I repeat should, be a beatdown. Patriots by 14. Miami (6-7) at Buffalo (6-7): Curious matchup of mediocre teams. Some of it depends on how frigid it'll be in Buffalo. If it's freezing, I'll take the Bills by 6. Cleveland (4-9) at Baltimore (10-3): Ravens are sneaking around in the battle for homefield, they can't afford a loss to the crappy Browns. It'll be closer than expected though. Ravens by 7. Detroit (2-11) at Green Bay (5-8): Ugh. Regardless of how bad the Packers might be this year, I can't in good conscience say they will lose to the Lions. Green Bay by 10. NY Jets (7-6) at Minnesota (6-7): A picture of mediocrity here. Not sure why everyone was on the Jets to make the playoffs easily, considering they are a very dubious team. Vikings should take this at home by about 6 and improve to .500. Tampa Bay (3-10) at Chicago (11-2): This should be an ugly, ugly game. If Grossman can show up and play decent, it'll be a 3 TD beating. If he sucks, Bears win by 10. I'll take somewhere in the middle. Chicago by 14. Pittsburgh (6-7) at Carolina (6-7): I think after the past week the Panthers may well be finished. The Steelers are quietly scraping back to .500, so I think they can pick up a road win here. Steelers by 4. Washington (4-9) at New Orleans (9-4): Saints are rolling right now and they can't possibly afford a home loss to the blech Redskins. Saints should win here by at least 10. 4:00: Denver (7-6) at Arizona (4-9): Okay now here's the upset alert for the week. Broncos made a mistake putting in Cutler this late in the season, and the Cardinals are showing signs of life. Cardinals win here by 6. St. Louis (5-8) at Oakland (2-11): Raiders are actually favored here, but the Rams aren't possibly THAT crappy. Are they? Nah. Rams by 7. Philadelphia (7-6) at NY Giants (7-6): Okay, Giants...end the farce with Jeff Garcia. Giants absolutely must win this game on every possible level. Giants by 10. 8:15: Kansas City (7-6) at San Diego (11-2): Chiefs slipped past the Chargers in KC, but there's no way they can sweep these guys. SD by 14 most likely. Cincinnati (8-5) at Indianapolis (10-3): The Colts really need to stop the bleeding and I'm thinking at home they can somehow do it. They won't really stop the Bengals at all, lord no. But the offense will come alive and Indy wins it 38-35.

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 14, 2006 THERE'S BAD SHIT GOIN DOWN HERE. I don't know what, yet, but it involves Tank Johnson. Dan Bernstein on 670 says he can't legally talk about it yet. Oh that's a good sign. EDIT: Search warrant for his house. Grrrrrrreat. Oh, and the regional SWAT team came in. Even better! Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 14, 2006 Drug raid. What are the ramifications of something like this?
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 Considering the injury situation with Da Bears' defense (Tommy Harris on IR, etc.), what would a potential indefinite suspension of Tank do to their post-season plans?
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Tank appears to be facing charges over the fact that he had 6 guns in his residence but didn't have a gun owner's ID issued by the Illinois state police. Normally, that would be a ticky-tacky kind of thing but he's got gun charges in his past, including a previous gun charge in which he was sentenced to 18 months of probation starting in November 2005. Given the situation, I'd say there's a good chance that the court determines he's violated his probation, which would make him unavailable for games in the near-future. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Looks like the Seattle-San Fran game is being suspended. The field isn't in good enough shape due to some heavy rain.
Guest Legalise Drugs and Murder Report post Posted December 15, 2006 That's bullshit. Play in a mudhole. Those games are awesome.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 The Niners are probably wishing the league actually had suspended the game. They suck.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 15, 2006 So much for that awesome perfect infallible FieldTurf, huh? They don't even have a mudhole to play in. It's like a slurry of rubber crumbs and sand.
Guest Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Haha, an NFL team fucked up the draining while a high school near me got it perfect for their FieldTurf. It's more fun to play on it during the rain, as it doesn't scrape up your arms.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 The Seahawks have no shot in the playoffs. Their offence is completely out of sync.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 San Francisco is wishing they had the Packers and Rams games back at this point. They should be leading this division.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Alex Smith just made an amazing play. High snap, fakes out an unblocked blitzer, scrambles and finds Frank Gore for a touchdown. 17-7 Niners. Interception! The Niners, as long as they don't screw up, are going to sweep the Seahawks. Though the interception comes on a blown pass inference no call. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I don't care what NBC has to do to make it happen, but they need to get Collinsworth out of the studio and into the Sunday night booth pronto. Oh, and Frank Gore is a beast.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 That could end up being a defining play for Alex Smith's future right there.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 They gotta get Gumbel out, he's just not worth a damn at this play by play stuff. Frank Gore just basically stuck a fork in the Seahawks tonight and actually gives the Niners a chance to win the division. The Niners will need to win their final two (Denver and Arizona) while Seattle would have to lose their final two (San Diego and Tampa Bay) and St. Louis would need to drop one of their final three (Oakland, Minnesota, and Washington) I believe . I cannot see that happening but man, I really want it too. Frank Gore is a beast, just cause it needed to be repeated. And the Seahawks just got burned, owned and pwned by Alex Smith all at once. God, that was brutally hilarious.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Despite the Seahawks tanking it tonight I can't help but think they avoid the 3 game losing streak and upend the Chargers next week on Christmas Eve. Call that an early pick for next week.
MFer 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Interesting, I've heard at least two people(Schlereth/Jaws) advocate for Marcus McNeil for ROTY. I'm sure most of you guys have your hang-ups about an OT winning the award, but it would be a nice change of pace.
Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I picked up Gore as my Mr. Irrelevant pick in one of my leagues thinking he'd be a backup....jesus christ am I glad I got him.

I'm sure most of you guys have your hang-ups about an OT winning the award, but it would be a nice change of pace. I think it would be a great thing to do since all offense originates from a great line. But, it's hard to tell how great OL are... Even with the Pro Bowl voting by the players, it's just a popularity contest for the offensive linemen.
