CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Oh well. Looks like it'll be Seattle vs. whoever loses the NFC East and the Giants vs. whoever wins the NFC East in the first round. I'm stoked, can you tell?

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Is he calling punts turnovers on downs again? Oh, and there it is: three NFC East teams in the playoffs. Grrrrrrrrrrreat.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Minnesota Vikings fans have very little to cling to. Let Slayer have that memory. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 There's the big strength of victory mystery cleared up. If the Packers, Vikings and Lions win, and if two out of Arizona, Miami and San Fran win, AND if two out of Carolina, Houston and Tampa Bay lose, then the Packers are in the playoffs. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Giants in the playoffs. Ugh. Say whatever you want about how parity has made the NFL more exciting and more popular than ever. The product quality sucks.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 It's odd how ESPN tries to portray NFC East as this weak division and yet they're sending in possible 3 teams (2 guaranteed).
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Well, the Giants getting in the playoffs certainly seems like a parody of serious football if nothing else (gotta love an 8-8 playoff team with a -7 in point differential for the year). How insane is it that the Saints might well just rest people tomorrow and finish 10-6 and have the #2 seed? How could any conference be so bad that a #2 seed has a record of 10-6. I'd advise the Saints to go all out and win tomorrow and finish 11-5. An 11-5 team can be a solid Super Bowl contender that has lost a few. A 10-6 team is a JTTS. Truth be told, any NFC besides the Bears making the Super Bowl is a total joke. The AFC has 4 pretty legit contenders, all of whom I think could beat Chicago (SD, Baltimore, NE, and Indy). MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Have the NFL tell you which team you should root for in the playoffs I cant get it to work though. I answer the 5 questions and it just goes into a rapid montage of stuff from games but no team to root for.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 I got the Cowboys. Eh. I'd figure that if your team was in the playoffs or a contender, you'd obviously get that team.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 31, 2006 It's odd how ESPN tries to portray NFC East as this weak division and yet they're sending in possible 3 teams (2 guaranteed). They're weak and overhyped at the same time, it's really great. Hear me out: flip the Pats and the Redskins and rename the NFC East the ESPN Division. Romo. Eli Manning. McNabb. Brady. It's too much to handle. Never mind. This is a terrible idea.

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 31, 2006 It'd be another excuse to show T.O. some more and then blame him for getting the attention. The other one I liked, and this crosses over into "More reasons why ESPN sucks," was on MNF, when Tirico and Kornheiser lamented how the New York Jets get no love from the media (barring Joe Buck's bizarre thing for Eric Mangini in the Bears-Jets game) for having a very good season while everyone focuses on the Giants having a disappointing year. I WONDER WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 I also enjoyed a recent segment where Tard Salisbury was talking about all the good stories of the year. It went something like this..."The Saints, the success of rookie coaches, LT, the comebacks of Brees, Pennington, etc...its stuff like this that we should focus on instead of things like T.O." The T.O. footage that followed lasted as long as all the 'good stories' combined.

teke184 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 I did that NFL Bandwagon thing and it told me my backup team (after the Saints) was Jacksonville. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Yeah I kept getting the rapid montage, let me see if it'll work now. I got the San Diego Chargers, which is good. I'll probably root for them anyways since it's my (potential) girlfriend's team. Also, fuck the goddamn Redskins. So tommorrow... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CARDINALS, LIONS, DOLPHINS, NINERS, VI..VIKE... If the Packers, Vikings and Lions win, and if two out of Arizona, Miami and San Fran win, AND if two out of Carolina, Houston and Tampa Bay lose, then the Packers are in the playoffs. Actually for the Packers to get in on strength of victory: Green Bay Detroit and Minnesota must win and Arizona, Miami and San Fran win, and Carolina, Houston and Tampa Bay lose If 5 out of the last six go down I think it heads to the strength of schedule tie breaker
