You know, given the snoozer boredom of the Rose, Orange, and now the Sugar Bowls it's obvious that the BCS really set up some loser matchups. Here is what we needed: Rose had to be Michigan/USC, not much can be done. But it really should have been ND vs. Wake (Orange) and U of L vs. LSU (Sugar) to provide some possibly more interesting games. ND might actually have (gasp) WON that game, and while I dunno if U of L could beat LSU in essentially a home game, it'd have been more exciting than this.

I'm not expecting a thriller in the title game either, so really the only interesting BCS game will end up being OU/Boise. Ironic really since that was the scrap heap BCS game with the mid major non BCS team and a not especially vintage OU.

The BCS is about selling tickets, not about good games.

Hence, why ND will get a BCS bid, deserving or not, until people stop showing up to see them.

Notre Dame/LSU had to be a marquee match-up for the BCS. ND/Wake and Louisville/LSU does nothing for most of the country.

The BCS needs to write an amendment into the contract that says "No more USC-UM games unless they're #1 and #2".

USC has ass-raped the Wolverines several times now, including this year and in 2003.

They also need to write one in that says "ND can now only get in if they have 0-1 losses and 0 wins over Top 25 teams OR 2 losses and 1 or more wins over Top 25 teams."

That covers them in case ND's schedule falls apart like this year, when the only Top 25 teams they faced both killed them.

(Georgia Tech fell out of the Top 25, IIRC, because they were 9-4 with at least 2 of those losses coming at the end of the year to Georgia and Wake, which were mid-level Top 25 teams at best.)

USC/Michigan was the marquee game, aside from the national title game. If they got rid of that "no more then 2 teams per conference" ruling, we would have seen Wisconsin involved likely against LSU and that would have produced a better game but knowing the BCS, we would have got OU/ND instead.

How did LSU lose two games this year?

1. 6 turnovers against Florida, including a fumble on the Florida 1-yard line after a TD call was overturned

2. Conservative playcalling and an overturned Pass Interference flag against Auburn

I blame the refs and the coaches for Auburn.

I blame the players for Florida because JaMarcus threw 3 picks and had at least 1 of the 3 fumbles.

Indeed.

Just wait until Paterno retires or dies.

Gophers need a head coach. Would Lane Kiffin be a good hire?

Unlikely, the main reason Schiano didn't take the Miami job is that he's probably waiting for Paterno to retire so he can get the PSU job.

Minnesota job search will be interesting, funny that they're doing two buyouts with Mason and Monson this year.

I've heard Frank Solitch's name come up a lot lately as a potential candidate for several jobs.

He wasn't given the leniency as coach that Bill Callahan was given, IMHO, so it would be wrong to dismiss him as a failure at a large program.

I think he could be a potential candidate at Minnesota if they want him.

Frank Solich is a popular name.

I like Bo Pelini from LSU.

You can have Jimbo Fisher, but leave Pelini out of it.

Just pay him enough so that Alabama doesn't get him.

(I don't mind Jimbo leaving as long as the rat-fuckers in Tuscaloosa don't get him.)

Didn't you see the Fisher to Florida St. rumor, Teke?

Fisher would be another good choice.

I could live with that one, too.

My only rule for losing assistant coaches and/or head coaches is that they go to another conference if possible, or at least not an in-conference rival we play each season.

(I could live with someone going to Mississippi State or Ole Miss, who plain suck, but it's harder when they go to Alabama, Auburn, or Florida, which are three of the biggest games on our schedule each year.)

Okay, so we have five days until the national title game, with two very meaningless filler bowl games between the last BCS game and the title game... who thought this was a good idea, again?

Not to mention not having the title game on a Friday, when most viewers wouldn't have to worry about pesky things like work/school the next day.

And this LSU team got beat by 2 TDs to Florida.

Yep, the Gators gonna get crushed Monday. Let's just give the title to OSU.

Did you watch that game? It's a really poor example to defend Florida...

Sitting in the dome during the Sugar Bowl, surrounded by LSU fans, I realized that it would be better for the tourist industry if both teams for Bowl games came from other states.

That and I just really can't stand LSU and only went because I wanted to boo them. I'm catching hell from everyone now though.

Oh well I got this for my memory:

Oregon offensive coordinator and former BYU head coach is leaving to be OC at LSU. I'm hoping that means less spread offense for Oregon.
