iggymcfly Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Just because he has the same cool beard as me (at least in this picture). Well, and because he's the best middle infielder on the board.
Brett Favre Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I was this close to taking him. Good pick (if he's healthy).
Styles Posted February 25, 2007 Author Report Posted February 25, 2007 I had him the last couple years I think. He was always disappointing. Good luck, though.
iggymcfly Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Yeah, I figure even if he plays like he did the last couple years, his production will be about even with the other players available in the middle infield right now, and there's always the chance something will click and he'll go back to how he was playing a few years ago, making his upside pretty big. Also, since you posted in the thread, even though you didn't explicitly state that it was the next round, I'm going to assume I can make my next pick now. Jeff Francoeur, OF, Atlanta
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Javier Vázquez SP Former Shorebird..back in 1996.. Team Update! SP: Capuano,Bedard,Vázquez Closer: Nathan C: McCann 1B: Giambi 2B:?? 3B: Beltre SS: Tejada OF: Burrell.Willingham,?? damn good team so far. I dont get another pick for a while..boo!
razazteca Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Too bad Willingham isn't catcher eligible this season.
Guest Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I can't possibly hold off on this pick for any longer. The Kings of Crunk select, from the Capital, Austin Kearns, OF. My team looks like this... Howard Cabrera Vlad Kearns Hafner Zito Unit Fuentes
razazteca Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Should I pick a fat pitcher or not? hm, decisions what to do!?!?!
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Too bad Willingham isn't catcher eligible this season. Well..thats fine cause I have Brian McCann.
Styles Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 Edgar Renteria, Shortstop, Atlanta Braves
razazteca Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Its probably too early but I don't care I claim the rights to Homer Bailey, SP from the Natti.

razazteca Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I knew that was coming but anyways this rookie better be this year's Papelbon sans the health scares.
CanadianChris Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Damn, that IS early. I figured he'd go somewhere around the 12th or 13th round.
razazteca Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Well the rest of the available pitchers have WHIP at around 1.40 and ERA at 4.00 so I decided to take a risk on the rookie.
Styles Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 Woops, forgot that Queen Leelee PMed me her picks since she was going to be away (always a good idea folks!) Sorry to keep everyone waiting longer than they had to. She picks: Kevin Youkilis, 1st Baseman, Boston Red Sox
CanadianChris Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I will never be able to see his name again without "Greek God of walks" popping up in my head. Thanks, Michael Lewis!

Guest Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Should make him keep an empty roster spot.
Styles Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 I did it with Delmon Young last year. He was up the last month and that was it. I obviously kept him and hope that picking him last year pays off this year.
Krankor Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Homer Bailey is in the Yahoo! player pool so he should be on his roster at the start of opening day.
Fökai Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Pick will be up in the next twenty minutes. The Renteria pick threw my strategy out the window.

Doesn't mean he'll be up on the big league team though. See the red "NA" next to his name? That means he's not actually up yet and would be effectively just holding a roster spot. Like I said, I did this with Delmon Young most of last year.
