Yeah, I thought it was a grey area in the states with you guys calling sweet potatoes "yams".

If not, disregard.

Yams = Boniatos

Boniato Casserole

6 medium boniatos, cooked

2 tablespoons margarine

1 cup raisins

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/3 cup sugar, or less to taste

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup corn syrup, or less to taste

1/4 teaspoon allspice

1 lemon, juiced

1/4 teaspoon salt

Slice boniatos, and line greased baking dish with 1 layer of boniatos. Sprinkle over half the nuts and raisins. Put remaining sliced boniatos on top, adding another layer of nuts and raisins. Dot with margarine, pour over syrup, sprinkle on sugar and spices, add lemon juice and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes.

Yams ARE sweet potatoes. The white flesh type are the Boniatos.

Make french fries.

Donate them to a local food drive.

Most food banks wont take fresh produce..hence why they ask for non-perishable food items.

For yams/sweet potatoes..

Bake em

Peel em

Mash em

Add brown sugar/butter/cinnamon/marshmallows

bake em

eat em

simple as that.

I was gonna say thats a big can, like 46 oz can..but they do come in that size so I guess its possible.

Plenty of Beta Carrotene in yams..more than in a carrot I think..

I wish the English would just use the English system. Fuck metric.

There isn't a can size that holds 36 oz. The closest can size is a #3 that holds 33 oz and a #3 Cylinder Can that holds 46 oz.

Yay for Storeroom Operations Class!

So then, he probably got the 33oz can. Why is this even being discussed?

I am not going to degrade myself into talking about the size of cans for yams.

No way, man. Metric is beautiful. It took years of chemistry, but I can think in terms of metric as opposed to going "How many pounds is that?" every time.
