Macs with Bootcamp?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone use Apple's "Bootcamp" program to run Windows XP (or Vista) on an Intel Mac computer?

I'm looking at laptops, and am intrigued by the idea of running both and being able to switch in between without the clunkiness of a "virtual machine".

How is the Windows performance on one of these machines? I mean, would the performance of Windows on Mac via Bootcamp match that of, say, a Sony or HP or whatever PC computer with the same hardware specs?

I have Windows it on my iMac. I hardly use Windows (I only use it so I can play games) but in the time that I have used it, it seems to run just as good as a normal PC. It certainly is very nice to have both operating systems on one machine. You'll also need a XP disc with Service Pack 2.

Mac's new OS, Jaguar, is scheduled for a spring release. It will come with boot camp standard. Maybe wait for it.

Actually, it's called Leopard, but yeah, the new version will come with boot camp, so you should probably just wait.

Still a rumor at this point but a lot of the Mac Rumor sites are pegging a late March announcement and/or actual release.
