Ouendan sequel announced

Dengeki Online has today posted Nintendo of Japan's latest release schedule, which includes mention of the long-awaited sequel to -- drum-roll for nervous anticipation -- Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (which was rejigged for the West as Elite Beat Agents). There's no release date mentioned other than a non-specific "during 2007." Four-player action is confirmed, though, as is the new sensation's snappy title: Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. Got all that? Quick translation: Burn! Hot-Blooded Rhythm Spirit, Yo! Fight! Cheerleading. Need we say more?

Friggin hell. I *think* I can pronounce the full title of the original game, but not that. It's Ouendan 2, anyway. Hopefully we get an actual Elite Beat Agents 2, but if not at least there's a solid alternative.

Yeah, but EBA fell well below Nintendo's sales expectations.

Still, it should have turned a tidy profit, right? The engine's already right there.

Most of the budget I'd assume would have been for licensing/recording the music, though. I wonder if that'd be the dealbreaker.

Fucking yes!

Best news ive heard all day!

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Thats one hell of a name. I know Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan means Go! Fight! Ninja Cheerleader, but ive no idea what the rest of it means.

Something close to: "Burn Up! Hot-Blooded Rhythm Spirits" for the first part.

Easy pickup for me once it comes out. It's only a matter of what kind of J-Pop covers will be dealt.
