Why is it that whenever people see a movie someone doesn't like, then they're "idiots"?

Here's a thought, not everyone likes all of the same shit that you people do. And not everyone goes to the movies just to see some "epic masterpiece" or whatever smarks (And I use that term loosely, referring to those that always complain on this board when what they say is a 'bad movie' does well) think is 'worthy' of being paid tosee. Some people just go to the movies to go out and watch a movie. Not to sit there and do two hours worth of analyzing every scene, debating on whether or not so and so performed well, etc.

Good for Brad Copeland, though. Even though the script is apparently lame, if it gets him more attention then he can put out something more like the Earl and Arrested he's written.

(in theory, at least. I wouldn't get my hopes up)

Plus the weekends are really about families going to the movies. What the fuck are they going to choose, a thriller about a killer or a harmless family comedy?

I know there's nothing I want to show my kids more than bland slapstick

Holy shit Wild Hogs did way better than I expected.

And Black Snake Moan..well I expected more than 5 million at least.

Come on Lushus, you know that's not what I was going for there

Yea, he'd rather take em to see Black Snake Moan. >_>

Is Mandingo or Spring Thomas in this?

It's a movie about trying to cure a girl of her promiscuity... what better movie for your daughter than that

I will just say this. I don't want to see Wild Hogs, but if the kids asked to see it, I'd take them. They won't ask to see Zodiac, and I wouldn't take them if they did. I'm pretty sure most fathers and mothers are in the same boat.

I got the world's most glowing review of Wild Hogs from my girl when she went with her friend this weekend

"Eh, it killed an hour and 40 minutes at least".

Plus really, there is no way it could be as bad as ZOOM! and William H Macy can make anything decent just by being William H Macy.

That's disappointing about Black Snake Moan. I really like director Craig Brewer's stuff, between this and Hustle and Flow, he's a really great director. I loved the movie personally, and the only other one of the movies released this weekend I would want to watch is Zodiac. I'd see Wild Hogs only for John McGinley's cameo.

Zodiac looks boring as shit. Looks like Gyllenhaal mailed this one in and keeps living off of the "ZOMG, Donny Darko iz the bestest movie evar" teenies.

If Gary hates the american movie goer for making Wild Hogs #1 what will his reaction be when TMNT makes less than $10 million its opening week?

Has anyone seen TV spots for that? I was shocked when I saw it was coming out this MONTH with such shitty promotion.

Maybe I need to watch Nickelodeon or something.

No, as a person who watches both Nick, and disney >_>, they just started the commercial this month. Maybe a little earlier...about a week ago, but the previews haven't been running long at all.

Didn't Black Snake Moan have Justin Timberlake in it?

It did, in a bit of a limited role.

It has been getting a lot of promotion from what I saw.. I mean, it was definitely one of the top three movies marketed this weekend, I don't watch a lot of TV and I saw TV spots for all three films, actually Black Snake got more than Zodiac from what I saw.

Then again, Hustle & Flow didn't do too well in theatres, either. Maybe it just takes some time for Brewer's stuff to catch on with the masses?

Nah, it was alright. Not as good as Seven or Fight Club, but still good. It kinda felt like Fincher made a movie out of one of those A&E American Justice programs, which is fine with me as I've always thought that the Zodiac's story was one of the more interesting ones when it came to serial killers in the States.

Hustle and Flow made 22 million, off a 2.5 budget while only playing in a 1,000 theatres. I think that's pretty good
