naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 There are 4 championship caliber teams right now, Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio and the Eastern Conference team that survives that JV league and won't have to beat 2 of them to win the title. The only way I see Phoenix winning it all is if they somehow get the 1 seed and don't have to beat both Texas teams just to make the Finals. Dallas however could just choke a 2 1/2 game lead away by the end of March though so we'll see.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Because losing 2 games in 20 games is a choke, right?

naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Because losing 2 games in 20 games is a choke, right? Never said that, but they certainly choked away the game tonight in the last 30 seconds, and it's conceivable that they could find themselves as the # 2 seed in 2 1/2 weeks considering that Phoenix isn't losing much these days either. Had they won tonight I don't see how Phoenix could have made up 5 games in the last 20 unless they ran the table. Ending up +3 over 20 games, is not that difficult especially with Phoenix having 2 more home games left than the Mavs.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 There's no disputing the Suns do very well against most all of the league with their style, but as they are proving right now they're not in league with Dallas or San Antonio. + = Me. Nash 2 Amare is the new Stockton 2 Malone.

Guest Report post Posted March 15, 2007 That the Mavs are choking away their 2 1/2 game lead. That's bullshit.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 So Amare went hunting for little Mexican girls after the game?
naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I said they COULD choke away the 2 1/2 game lead they have at the moment in the next few weeks now that Phoenix knows they have a chance to get the 1 seed and avoid having to play Dallas/San Antonio until the WCF. I didn't say losing 2 times since January was choking.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 How can you not be in awe of the physicality of Amare's dominance in the paint? All Nash has to do is throw the ball in his general direction for the easy FG and1 foul.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 This is purely an observation based on the many games I've seen, but they need to do away with the whole "throw ball at opponent to get the ball to go out of bounds" bullshit. What? That ridiculous. Lets do away with steals when the player slaps the ball away and it hits the offensive player on the knee too. That was a great play. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 It seems to me the NBA equivalent of a NFL forceout rule. There should be one in place.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 It seems to me the NBA equivalent of a NFL forceout rule. There should be one in place. Not close to the same thing. If terry hadn't been there the ball just would have went back into play. For that rule to be in place you would be arguing that if a player dives to save a ball, it should count as out of bounds. Plus terry has a opportunity to make a play on the ball and I have seen the guy catch the ball quite a few times.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Stop assuming everything is about the Suns. I did say this is over MANY games I've seen. From the Atlanta Hawks to the Washington Wizards, they need to stop throwing balls at the opponents for the out of bound turnover.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I didn't mention this last night, because I didn't want to be cast as a Suns-hater, but good lord was that commentary atrocious. It was even worse than a Laker game. At one point, they even showed a slo-mo replay of Dirk missing a free throw. Dick Vitale was probably sitting at home saying, "man, what a bunch of homers." EDIT: I should point out that I'm referring more to the Shaq/Kobe heyday, as opposed to now, where it's not as bad. Though I do recall John Saunders crying for like five minutes straight about the Rockets doing hack-a-Kwame. Bill Walton quickly retorted with "then why doesn't Kwame Brown learn how to shoot free throws?"

Of course, he sucks off Nash like no one's business but his all-around awesomeness more than compensates.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Considering that the association wants to ignore the greatness that is Jason Kidd the greatest point guard playing today is indeed Steve Nash.
Just John 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 Steve Nash deserves most of the praise he gets, but it can be overwhelming. Of course, if you're going to watch professional sports, you just have to accept that certain players are going to get verbally blown from time to time.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 True. I think the replay of the free throw was what pissed me off the most. I don't recall ever seeing a slo-mo of a missed FT. We get it guys, they couldn't put it away at the line.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 That was stupid. But Waltons worse comment of the night was when he said Diop has lost well over a hundred lbs to be in shape. Because Diop was well over 400 lbs when he "played" in Cleveland. And yeah, I pretty much have to turn the sound off. They were felateing Steve Nash and Dirk last night alot but nothing was more annoying than the school girl squeels anytime that Steve Nash did anything. Hit a jumper "OHOHOHOWHOHWEEEEE" . Simple bounce pass "OH MY GODDDDDD HEHEHEHEHEHE" And I am a suns fan.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 And the hometown Lakers off to a nice start... ...oh, they're playing in Denver. Pretty funny hearing "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE" from the Denver crowd.
Guest Report post Posted March 16, 2007 How does Kwame not get a flagrant for that play on Kleiza. Seriously now.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 I think had the shot not gone in, they would have called it. That's a poor excuse, but it's probably why they let it go.
Guest Report post Posted March 16, 2007 This defense. *Shakes head* It's a disgrace to the game of basketball to call this shit defense. What the fuck is Phil doing giving Bynum 9 minutes. This is the least excited about Laker basketball than I've been since RudyT got here. That says a fucking lot. I'm not used to this losing shit, and I never will be. If USC loses tomorrow I won't leave the house for a week. Fire Kupchak GODDAMNIT
Just John 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 The Lakers just don't have a very good team right now. Kobe is great as always, but they really have nothing else to work with. No one else on the team is talented or consistent enough right now to make this team a contender.
Guest Report post Posted March 16, 2007 I blame Kupchak for not getting Steve Nash when he could have for Shaq. That greedy asshole can eat a cock. When they say they won't trade Dirk, but will sign and trade Nash, you do that shit. Dude is no Jerry West, as much as he tries to be. We will choose Bynum over Kobe when Kobe's contract is up, and that will be the end of my involvement with this team unless Bynum turns into fucking Greg Oden. Bynum isn't even as good as Oden NOW. I don't think this Kupchak shit will go on much longer, so I'm not too worried. But then Phil will get the job and I'll be more worried.
