Linkin Park - "My December"

This is kinda like...well...how it feels if you ever break up with someone...you know? you feel like you shouldn't have done things to the people that you did do. And then you wish you could just go back and say you're sorry for the things that you did but its too late because you're not together anymore. Then, you feel all cold and lonely inside... like your own december inside of your heart and mind. Thats what this song feels like to me. By the way...LINKIN PARK IS THE BEST!! ~*~LOL~*~

Rhett Miller - "Come Around"

This one night I remember was the first time I ever cried. I heard this song after breaking up w/ my ex gf and it hit me she isn't coming back. I went out running that night and got half way through and just stopped running and started to cry uncontrollably. But later that night all could think about was the part "And I remember the night You came onto me And opened up my heart I was hollow then

Till you filled me in." She was My first and broke up so many times it was crazy but we loved each other so much. We met at a party and the only thing now that reminds me of how bitter our final break is the taste of Vodka.

Green Day - "Minority"

I want to be the minority. Its a really empowering song. I don't want to be everyone else....I want to be me. So screw you guys. It really makes me feel good to hear this song....prolly cuz I live in a rich town and on top of that most people suck anyways.

Continue.

I'd just like to add to what "the day the music died" has stated. I am actually critical of a comment he has made about the following segment:

"I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down

You know the one that takes you to the places

where all the veins meet, yeah"

His interpretation is rather lacking in any perspicuity and credibility, although his overall interpretation is quite refreshing and admittedly eye-opening.

However, i'm pretty sure i have the correct interpretation of that passage, well at least i know what he's talking of when he says "the places where all the VEINS meet." It is an anatomical reference! HE'S REFERRING TO THE HEART! THE HEART IS THE PLACE WHERE ALL THE VEINS MEET IN THE BODY. This should lead one to countless rather deep interpretations. This particular passage, which i personally think is the most profound piece of the song, is genius.

read the above i think it is a revolutionary breakthrough in understanding the song. Granted I am talking about my own analysis! but come on, i've spotted something no one else has! I think i have just cause to brag a little!

Evanescence - "My Immortal"

I cant stop playing this song loud loud loud and with candles and totally losing myself in it. Its relevance to my life is taking my breath away, making me sad and relieving me at the same time. if you've ever loved a narcissist, you will relate to this song. Im addicted to the beauty, the pain of the song. Its so delicate, it makes me weep and introspective.

Well the name yellow goes along with the lights to me when lights and stars shine they are yellow he is saying that his love makes him shine so its yellow. He explains how he would do anything because his lover is shining too thats why he says every thing about the love is yellow. He would do anything to see her shine

Our Lady Peace - "Innocent"

this song means a lot to me...i'm kinda thinking of suicide and it kinda brings me back down to reality, i'm not going to kill myself. everything wrong that could happen is happening...i'm so innocent.

The best part of evanescence is how haunting her voice is, not a track goes by that her voice doesnt give me goosbumbs. I can hear the same song over and over and every time, it just hits the spot. If she ever breaks free of her band, I feel that she has a voice that has the potential to be on par with Sarah Maclachlan and Sarah Brightman.

Danzig - "Mother"

Its about killing your parents because they suck.

That dude was named BobSaget666

Also my friends dad was tellin us a story. He used to go to concerts he is a big metal head, and he went to like an Ozzy concert or somethin and Danzig was opening up for him. And it was a smaller place, not a huge stadium. Some dude in the front yelled at Danzig to get off the stage and said Danzig sucks. And supposedly Danzig jumped off the stage walked up and beat the shit out of the guy and was arrested.

Danzig is awesome. I don't believe it though. Danzig couldn't beat the shit out of anybody. I'd believe he tried.

"Hulkster in Heaven"

this song is about a kid that hulkster visited in the hospital for charity. hulk never got to say goodbye, but i guess he never had to because he'll see him again... when the hulkster comes to heaven. beautiful song

I seriously believe this to be one of the greatest bands to have ever touched the face of existence, I Wanna Be a Hulkamaniac

"Beach Patrol"

this is some pretty deep shit.

"American Made"

love it. This song was more up beat than "Real American" which was Hulk Hogan's theme song in the 80's. This is a 90's version of the hulk and it works great.

Hawthorne Heights - "Ohio Is For Lovers"

Does it really matter what state is for lovers? Just because they used ohio, doesnt mean anything. Its they're opinion, & everyone is intitled to they're own.

GG Allin - "Bite It You Scum"

the etymology of the word "punk" is rooted in prison lexicon. a punk, by definition, is a guy at the bottom of the prison food-chain, a guy who allows himself to be so debased that he winds up immune and outside of the system. GG Allin is the definition of the punk philosophy. his stage show wasn't theatrical, it wasn't fun, and his music was beside the point - GG was a punk, perhaps the truest since Iggy Pop

Prussian Blue - "Aryan Man Awake"

This comment is only tangental to the song lyrics, but since everyone is on the subject of "Hitler"... well, I just HAVE to ask: How many of you have actually read Hitler's works and speeches first-hand? Be totally honest. How many of you have actually allowed yourself to take in the whole picture of his philosophy directly from HIS words? Probably NONE of you. On the other hand, how many of you have formed your opinion of his philosophy from SECOND-HAND sources? From movies, books and media stories written by OTHERS... those "others" being the very people he wanted you to know you're being manipulated by? Probably ALL of you (let's be honest).

My point? The opinion you've formed about the above lyrics is NOT YOUR OWN. The REAL enemy is now in the halls of power. Money and power. They are taking away more and more of our rights and freedoms every day. They are programming us to DESTROY our own traditional American, British and European cultures... and forcing us to pay for it at the same time!

And when two school-aged girls ask you to WAKE UP and turn on your brain... you people just tell them to f*** off like some MINDLESS AUTOMATON. (Must be the controlled TV and the flouride in the water!)

Disturbed - "Get down with the sickness"

when i was listening to this song i thought it was great but when it came to the part where he abuses his own mother, the mother that bore him and lead him till here,i felt odd.being a muslim i dont think this is a good think but on the other hand his mother must have abused him alot and he is letting the rage out.i think this teaches the mother society to treat their children as human beings and not piece of crap.or otherwise this is what children do................

kill your idols, please, if you like these guys, kill them before they put out another fucking cd. I got a sickness from hearing this song, i got sick to my fucking stomach that a bunch of assholes wrote it, and then a bunch of bigger assholes played them on the radio, and then the biggest group of assholes actually think this is good music. like all of you.

Destiny's Child - "Bug a boo"

I met a guy over the summer who was definitely a bug-a-boo. He kept calling me and IMing me and talking to me before class. It annoyed me and scared me, so I finally told him to back off. I dunno if it worked or not but I do need to thank DC for making this song to help me feel a bit better about this whole thing!

The Fray - "How to Save a Life"

I bought this CD one day and listened to the whole thing straight through. My favorite song was how to save a life, but I didn't really listen to the lyrics. Later that day, I found out that one of my friends had died. "How to save a life" started playing on my computer and I listened to the words and I just started crying and sobbing. so the real song is about drug addiction but for me it will always be about the death of an amazing person.

Blink 182 - "What's my age again?"

I love this song, im 19 and i feel like this guy. I would never turn on the tv when im messing around with a girl. I dont act my age and i never want to, to me age is just a label. I pretty much quit drinking so i have to have fun doing silly stuff. Last Saturday i fixed my hair up like Ace Venturea , the party where hes a crazy ballet dancer and he goes to the mental hospital. I just do really goofy stuff, my friends do it to, its fun so i can totally relate to this song.

Fergie - Fergalicious

by smellykellyjay on 12-16-2006 @ 06:49:44 PM

I'm ashamed of myself for liking this song as much as I do.

It's a total ripoff. I mean, it's a compilation of three other songs -- J.J. Fad's " Supersonic," Afro-Rican's "Give It All You Got," and Kraftwerk's "It's More Fun To Compute". It seems wrong to say that she samples these three songs since, the WHOLE song is these three songs smashed up with her raps/singing. She prolly ain't makin' no money on this song, what with all she has to pay for using the samples.

And she prolly should at least send flowers to Destiny's Child and Kelis, since this tune is so derivative of "Bootylicious" and "Milkshake."

And this song will probably won't last. It's too specific. Who's gonna cover or remake it? How many Fergies do you know? It's a total novelty song.

And in spite of it all, I love it. It makes me smile and laugh and want to dance like a fool. I love her harmonies on "Rock, Rock!". And i LOVE the bridge (not the London one) and how she says "check it out" and "honey get some patience

MAAAHBAY then you'll get a taste". She says "maybe" so country. And the way they do "man" when she raps," i dont wanna take your man!" Ba ha, ha, ha! So stupid. I listen to this crouched in the closet, eating it up like a binge-and-purger would do a bag of Oreos.

All that said, the song goes on for much too long, with much too much will.i.am (mis)spelling tasty and delcious. That stuff gets real old real fast. Besides, if I wanted to hear him, I'd get Black Eyed Peas songs. I've made my own edit of the song that cuts out most of that crap, and it's, like, almost two minutes shorter than the true version. As long as I have my MAAAHBAY bridge, it's all good!

'Dancehall' by 311 has everyone stumped!

this is a great song, but i've been having trouble figuring it out. I think it's telling people to be glad when bad things don't happen, and when they do, learn from the experience....don't get upset over trivial things. Anyway, that's what i get from it...

Yeah, i have the same problem. I find SA's lyrics to be pretty crucial but hard to understand, and Nick's lyrics more digestible. Either way, this song is just tight....and I think that if 311 put out a CD of just their b-sides, it would sell twice as much as the Blue one.

Let's analyse this cryptic sonnet.

You could lose your mind

Easier than you would like to think

Your best friend could up and leave you

Playing tricks and cold deceive you

Standing there people stare

Let down by your own mind

Day of appreciation

For ways your mind has not yet let you down

The truth is that we will all go

Maybe five minutes after the show

You know you are a shooting star

A blazing flash then gone

(Chorus x2)

Are we advancing or a collapsing

Visionary

Are we really here

Are we imaginary

As my thoughts separates

Into the many frayed parts

Torn shattered bits

My mind falling apart

What if there was such a thing

What if there’s such a thing called

dependence day

There’s no self congratulation

Just a day of appreciation

Quietly humbly

For things that have not gone wrong

Imagine the frustration

Of losing bearing of the simplest thing

So come with your best and do your worst

before

You can’t remember what you came for

(Chorus)

Blazing out the mains

Hungry flames consume all that I see

Whew, slow down fellas!
