My predictions:

Sabres in 7 (Rangers have the momentum and will win game 1 but the Sabres have to wake up at some point)

Sens in 6 (The Devils have Brodeur and one line, the Sens are balance on O and D)

Sharks in 6 (They're the better team and won't fold up like the Flames did)

Ducks in 6 ( I REALLY want Vancouver to win butI can't see it)

new york rangers in 7 (changed my mind)

new jersey devils in 5

detroit red wings in 6

vancouver canucks in 7

edit: do you people really think san jose is better than detroit? i understand picking the sharks, but to say they're better seems silly. buffalo is better than the rangers, i just see this as a tough match-up for them.

(4) Ottawa Senators (d. Pit 4-0)

No.

It sure felt like it though.

New York over Buffalo, New Jersey over Ottawa.

Detroit over San Jose, Anaheim sweep Vancouver.

i almost dare pick the canucks over the ducks in 5 or 6 games. listen, anaheim is tougher than nails defensively, but i don't think they've got enough offensive power to break luongo. if these stay low scoring games, i can easily see the canucks having an easier time here.

with the sharks, i can see why people might favor them. but people, detroit is 4 lines deep without a single weakness. their defense is superb. tons of experience & make limited mistakes. cap that off with hasek. i can't see how anyone would go against these guys at all right now.

Why you thinking sweep King?

If the Ducks do not have enough offensive power to break Luongo, how do the Nucks break Neidermayer and Pronger?

Vancouver does not have the goons that can keep Anaheim in check. The Ducks will be taking runs and causing havoc all series.

I think sweep because Anaheim already played the best defensive team in the league and beat them. It will be nothing they haven't seen.

nah nah

first: backstrom isn't luongo. the wild aren't the best defensive team.

second: neidermayer & pronger don't play all game, luongo does. if the ducks are taking runs & gooning it up, they'll spend a lot of time in the box, which sorta negates the defenseman argument.

The Ducks have been gooning it up all year and still finished 2nd in the conference. Of the 4 teams left in the Western Conference, only San Jose has more goals. The Ducks have offensive firepower.

The Ducks led the league in penalty minutes and are the only team in the top 10 still left. It means nothing when you have guys like Neidermayer and Pronger killing penalties. Minnesota gave up the least goals of any NHL team by a good margin, of course they're the best defensive team. Anaheim played 5 games against them, took runs and tried to goon it up in every game and only lost one game, the game that Boogaard actually got into their heads.

The Ducks have the best checking line and defensive forward in the league. They have the 2nd best powerplay in the league. The 5th best penalty kill in the league. They are the only team in the top 5 in both categories. They are winning this series in 6 at the most.

I'd feel a little bit differently if Van City had more than the Sedin line as a scoring punch, but they don't.

What's the schedule? I assume there's an Eastern game Tuesday night.

I pick Ottawa, Buffalo, San Jose, and Vancouver for no real reason.

Interesting how NBC purposely wanted every game at MSG...

BUF d. NYR (4-0)

OTT d. NJ (4-3)

The rest doesn't matter.

Don't get too happy everyone, the Ducks dominated the rest of the period and scored 3 goals in the process.

Ducks are just taking over the tired and depleted Nucks.

Don't worry, they are the ultimate All-Star line with nothing behind them.

The Canucks couldn't beat them if the roles were reversed, lol. I feel bad for them and their fans, they got through the first series for what? A sweep?

Oh you crazy Canadian fans, supporting a team from your country even though there are just as many Europeans and Americans on the team as there are Canadians.
