Well of course I watch the games and Lidstrom HAS played real well, and made some key plays (the save he made in game 6 against the Sharks), but Hasek has allowed 2 or less goals in the majority of the games during the postseason.

 

He allowed 3 in games 3 & 4 in Calgary and 4 in Game 2 against Anaheim. Otherwise, he's been solid. As much as I love Lidstrom, I still give the MVP to Hasek right now.

no he didn't. he came to finish a check. his check was totally clean. pronger was the one intending to injure. smashing one's face into the glass demonstrates this.

That was exactly the kind of game the Wings needed. As for MVP talk, I'd give it to Lidstrom but Hasek is making a strong case for himself.

Hasek gives up a lot of rebounds but the Ducks aren't capitalizing on them.

I thought I would see more Wings fans at the game yesterday. Most of the chants at the game were directed at the refs.

Anaheim Ducks defenceman Chris Pronger has been suspended for one game by the National Hockey League.

 

Pronger received the suspension after Detroit forward Tomas Holmstrom was drilled into the boards Tuesday night in the Red Wings' 5-0 victory in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final. Holmstrom was cut after getting hit into the glass by Pronger and Anaheim forward Rob Niedermayer on the play in question.

The Wings really need to take advantage of this.

Sabres played like shit for the last half of the game. The Sens got two goals late in the second, and had numerous chances in the third.

 

The Sabres still aren't playing well enough to win this series. Ottawa closes it out in 5 (for symmetry).

Jesus fucking Christ, two 5 on 3's and NOTHING. This was their best chance to pretty much end this series with Pronger gone and they fucked it up. I don't care if they came back, they didn't win despite many chances to do so. A rested Pronger for game five plus the momentum to boot. Don't let them take game five boys or it is over.

I have a Zetterberg jersey and that might be a safe bet because I don't see him going anywhere for a while. If not, Lidstrom would be the best bet. As soon as the new jerseys go on sale next year, I'm getting a Lidstrom for sure.
