spman 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Maybe Graham can help out on this one: Does anyone remember the circumstances behind the first Steiners / Money Inc. title switch? The title switches hands on June 14 during a Wrestling Challange in a match that I have no recollection of ever having been aired. Then apparently 2 days later on June 16, Money Inc. win the belts back at a House Show in Illinois, which Graham has no other info on besides that one match. Was this one of those phantom title switches that never got mentioned on television? WWE.com lists the June 14th tag title win, but since the match was taped on June 14th, there's no way it would have aired that same day, and Money Inc. won the title 2 days later, which really makes no sense at all. Can anyone shed some light on this?
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 I believe the match was a dark match on the taping. The title switches were absolutely mentioned on WWF programming that weekend. I want to say that the first switch was announced on Prime Time Wrestling that Tuesday, but I couldn't confirm that.
spman 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Even further complicating things is the fact that Steiners win the belts 3 days later on June 19th at another House Show in St. Louis. So why do all the back and fourth switches if the end result was going to be Steiners with the belts anyways?

Usually the intention in those kind of situations is to drum up house show business by letting the fans know that title changes can happen at those events. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 As a huge huge Steiners mark, their title changes were mentioned on WWF television, but these matches were never aired. Kinda sucks.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Anyone else remember that awesome cage match between the two teams on a TV special? That was probably one of the best tag team cage matches I've ever seen.
... 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 Something that always fascinated me: the tag belts, from Summerslam 91 to Royal Rumble 95 only changed hands at house show or free TV.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 I hate title changes like where it happens at house shows like Benoit winning the TV title in WCW or when WWE can't decide to acknowledge a title change or not (Nash and Michaels win at IYH 3). I think in the new or last issue of WWE magazine, it actually talked about the Rockers winning the titles from the Hart Foundation, but wasn't acknowledged because of the rope breaking. I'm surprised they even mentioned that.
JJMc 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 In an issue of WWF Magazine a couple of months later, there was a story on how the belts changed three times in a week as well as pictures of a couple of the matches.
