Ireland (Irish: Éire;Ulster Scots: Airlann) is the third largest island in Europe[1] and the twentieth largest in the world.[2] It lies to the northwest of Continental Europe. It is surrounded by hundreds of islands and islets. To the east of Ireland, separated by the Irish Sea, is the island of Great Britain. Politically, Ireland is divided into the Republic of Ireland, a sovereign state occupying five-sixths of the island, and Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom, occupying the northeastern sixth of the island.[3] The name 'Ireland' derives from the name Ériu (in modern Irish, Éire) with the addition of the Germanic word 'land'.

The population of the island is slightly under six million (2006), with 4,239,848 in the Republic of Ireland[4] (1.7 million in Greater Dublin[5]) and about 1.7 million in Northern Ireland[6] (0.6 million in Greater Belfast).[7]

No offense, but the fact that these relatively journeyman Pistons teams keep making the Eastern Conf. finals year after year just shows how lousy that half of the league is. They've just stayed competent and win 53-54 games, which is good enough to be a top seed now, but 10-15 years ago they would have been lucky to make it to the 2nd round. A decade ago the Pistons being 54-28 meant they lost in the first round to the Atlanta Hawks (or best case scenario got squashed by the Bulls in 5 the next round, which was the Hawks' fate).

Yeah, the Pistons are just competent... they don't score a lot of points so they must suck! They're all journeymen! What's with this comparing to 10-15 years ago. Shut the fuck up.

I posted a girl's bush, so I get a 25 point de-infraction to counteract the 23 point infraction and add 2, too!

When I was in Junior High they had these stupid infraction slips they handed out if you broke the rules and what not. There were like 20 infractions on the slip that they could check to indicate what you did. I think there were 1,3, and 5 point infractions to check off. At 0 points you were at honor level 1, 1-9 points were honor level 2, 10-24 or something like that was honor level 3, and above that was honor level 4. I think the way it worked was two weeks of no infractions and you went back to level 1, otherwise the points kept accumulating. The first infraction that moved you to honor level 2 got you 15 minutes of lunch detention. Every infraction after you were on level 2 or higher got you 15 minutes of lunch duty cleaning tables. Also, honor level 1 students often got candy bars and such, and only honor level 1 and 2 students could go to convocations and other events, while honor level 3 and 4 students got to go to a quasi-detention room. The whacky thing was that teachers would often check off more than one line on the infraction slips, but you could only get points for the highest point line. For example I got a quadruple infraction for saying "this sucks" while going to the quasi-detention for being on level 3. It added up to I think 16 points, but since it was all on one slip I only got 5 points. Not that it mattered since I was already on honor level 3 and honor levels 3 and 4 were the same as far as I can remember. I also got a double infraction for saying "Aww Freaky Friday? I hate that movie." When class had not even started yet and I was just reacting to seeing it on the "TODAY: FREAKY FRIDAY" thing on the board.

The biggest rewards were given for staying honor level 1 an entire semester or year. I almost made it in 8th grade 2nd semester. With one week left I got pissed at my science teacher (I raised my hand to ask a question, have it up for 3 minutes and don't get called on. I put it down, someone else raises their hand and gets called on right away. After the 3rd time this happened) and mouthed the word bitch. Mouthed, not said aloud, but we had a deaf kid in the class and his signer read my lips and wrote me up, ending my infractionless semester. Bitch.

The fact that Hasek would have stood tall at the net would eliminate Selanne's scoring chances greatly. Even a pokecheck would have been a better choice than what Hasek did.

If I was a Wings player or fan, I'd call out Hasek for his bonehead plays throughout the playoffs.

I hope Anaheim wins because they are local. I really couldn't care less about hockey in general. I've tried watching it several times, and it's about as exciting as watching poker or billiards.

What a nice way to open up a hockey thread.

Get out if you don't care.

I was wondering when I'd be included in this thread.

P.S. Hockey on TV=watching paint dry... Until there's fighting, anyhow.

Sometimes I wrap myself in flannel blankets.

When I moved out from my parents for the second time a few years ago I had never realized, until going through my old shirt collection that had been sitting in the closet since moving out the first time, that in the mid-90's I wore a large amount of flannel/flannely shirts

Regrettably I often wore flannel shirts over my t-shirts in the early 90s during the whole Seattle music explosion. I thought it looked cool but thinking about it now makes me realise that it was both hot and just uncomfortable on the skin.

Grunge was the reason for my collection as well, but I still wore it even until graduating from high school

The fact that people still in this day and age, refer to black people that dogfight and do other things frowned upon by the general populace "niggers", is just as bad as dogfighting, in many respects.

And I am not what you would call a "nigger", so please do not assume that I am of black descent.

I don't think that I've ever been one to be PC about such terms, but that one got to me for some reason. Continue.

Brutally killing animals = a word that hurts people's feelings.

You can talk openly about it, but if anyone uses the n-word again I'm booting them.

More pompous, subjective and inadequate moderating from this one.

Yankess Sox on the Sunday night game? Why don't they just rename it the ESPN Yankess Night Game?

This is what, the 3rd time this season Yankess/Red Sox has been the Sunday game?

This "Yankess" thing must be some joke.

But, it's terrible. Keep it down.

We'll be starting from 21 May. I can't go back too far.

I'm a trailblazer fan. He seems to be a pretty decent owner, by all accounts. Of course that opinion of him will go to shit if he moves the team, although it seems much more unlikely now.

Didn't he use to own the Seattle Sonics as well?

EDIT: Nevermind. Wiki has a nice, concise entry on him:

In 1988, Allen purchased the Portland Trail Blazers NBA team from Harry Glickman for $70 million, and was instrumental in the development and funding of their Rose Garden Arena in 1993. One of Allen's most memorable moments as owner of the Trail Blazers was his participation in a hot dog eating contest at halftime of a 2002 game against the Denver Nuggets. Allen ate ten hot dogs in 12 minutes, but lost to world champion Takeru Kobayashi.

In 1997, Allen purchased the Seattle Seahawks NFL team when former owner Ken Behring threatened to move the Seahawks to Southern California. He played a large part in the development of the new Seahawks' stadium, Qwest Field, although it was funded largely by tax revenue.

Since 2006, Allen has been asking Portland and Oregon officials for assistance in the financing of the Blazers, which he estimated would lose $100 million over the next three years. Portland Mayor Tom Potter has so far rebuffed the requests.

According to a 2006 issue of Forbes, the Blazers are valued at approximately $300 million.

On 27 April 2007, it was rumoured that Allen may launch a takeover bid for English football club Southampton. An apparent close source said "he believes there is long term investment value in UK Soccer. Southampton is a sleeping giant, a family-supported club with traditional values, and we see the value in taking the brand global."

Hey, did you guys know I moved to Portland? I'm kinda successful and stuff!

Nobody cares.

This poster has no knowledge of the topic (Paul Allen), and wasted space. And copied from wikipedia in an edit, for whatever reason. Hey, asshole, we know how to search things online.

However, this is a fairly minor infraction. And I'm sure this poster will have many more in the future, so we'll be lenient for now.

Vitamin X - 2 point infraction.

Actually ya dumb fucks, if you went back and re read what I asked, I asked what peoples personal opinions of him was, and whether they respected him as an owner, searching online isnt going to help that is it?

Alex is a cartoon character from the television series Totally Spies. She is voiced by Katie Griffin .

Always dressed in yellow, Alex is the brown-skinned, dark-haired member of her group of friends, which consists of Clover and Sam. She wears her hair short, while Clover has shoulder-length blonde hair, and Sam has long, red hair.

Together, the three girls are members of a secretive, teen spy agency named WOOHP. Usually, they get thrown into a hole that leads to their boss Jerry's office. That way, while they disapear before their missions, anyone ever hardly notices their dissapearances. Alex is also the weakest of the three. She is also the most clumsy and accident prone.

Alex is a teenager who is a high school student and lives in Beverly Hills. Another trait she shares with her two best friends is their romantic interest in David, who does not seem to know or care that the three friends have a crush on him.

Alex reacts on instinct, which many times leads the group into more trouble than neccesary when dealing with "bad guys". Nevertheless, as part of the trio, she helps the trio give "bad guys" what they have coming, which is usually jail or other punishment.

For one episode in season 2 of the series (episode #45), Alex left the group for a short period, but she later reconsidered her decision and rejoined her friends.

GROH RULES THE KNOWN WORLD AND LIVEs IN SAN DIEGO

Wow, just...wow.

I vaguely remember that shitty cartoon. It made my "creepiset shows on TV list."
