No, he does radio commentary for the Sens on occasion.

I'm sure the Bruins would be willing to deal Jason York, though.

York is a free agent and will be someone else's problem next season. If he does somehow get a new contract, I'm putting out a bounty on Chiarelli's eyes.

A Bruin staying, however, is Andrew Alberts. He signed a 2/2.5 million dollar deal today. 1.25 isn't a bad number, but Andrew needs to realize that just getting into fights isn't the goal. You want to WIN some of those fights and then STAY a physical force for the rest of the game. Not fight, lose and shy away from contact for the next three games. He stepped up on the PK this year though. Like Hal Gill, only not giving me heart palpitations when he was out against anybody good.

Also, I'm sure the rest of the league will be relieved that the man, myth and legend, Petr Tenkrat will NOT be on the Boston Bruins next year. Instead, he will suit up and steal money from Timrå IK in Sweden. Oh, whatever will the Bruins do without 9-5-14, -16?! WHAT WILL THEY DO?!?!?!

Miss the playoffs.

Tampa traded for Chris Gratton.

Many think that this means Brad Richards is headed out. I believe that will be the case.

I've mentioned this a few times now, but I thought he'd make a run at KW before Hamilton (which is hardly to say it makes more sense than Steeltown).

Stop me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a Board of Governors meeting upcoming, in which they were going to look at the rule that says, for lack of a better explanation, you have to pay royalties to a team within 80 km?

He must have realized that KW isn't a viable option for him to be looking at Hamilton.

It's weird. I thought all of the Canadian posters on the board and elsewhere would be happy that another team could move into Canada. I understand that a lot of the arenas (MTS Centre) are not up to NHL standards. All it takes is for one team to move and then an arena to be built, just like in Colorado, Tampa Bay, and Phoenix.

What's considered an NHL-ready arena and what's not?

I think people are lukewarm to a Hamilton team, because Hamilton's a cesspool and there are already two NHL teams in Ontario. Move to Winnipeg!

Well that won't solve anything. The Bruins should hire Bob Francis. He was okay with the Coyotes.

The hell it won't solve anything. Lewis was clinging to an antiquated system that none of his players understood. It preached little forechecking, no aggression and a lackluster powerplay. Lewis' big ideas always fell flat, the team didn't give a fuck about each other or the game, the games down the stretch made some of those Devils "trap hockey" look like a fucking carnival. There was no passion from the players or the coaches, neither in the game or afterwards. Lewis' biggest "team-building exercise" was throwing around an overstuffed bear head in the lockerroom to get the guys to think on their toes (I'm not making this up.)

Bob Francis didn't get much of anything done in the desert. Rumors are strong about Pat Quinn coming to Boston (I'd rather they rehire Lewis than try to impliment some of Quinn's ancient systems) or them promoting Scott Gordon from Providence, which I think is the right idea. Gordon has worked with Bergeron, Toivonen, Stuart, Lashoff, Kalus, Krejci and the rest of the kids who look to be coming up soon. That's the right move to make, IMO.
