Lord of The Curry

John From Cinncinati

Recommended Posts

Well, all I'm saying is that this better be good. David Milch copped out of doing Deadwood for this fucking show so it better be good. The plus is that it's got quite a few Deadwood alumni in it, as well as Bruce Greenwood who, in case you weren't aware, is one of the better actors going today. Oh, and Al Bundy is in it.

CAST

Mitch Yost- Bruce Greenwood

Cissy Yost- Rebbeca De Mornay (looking fuckable)

Butchie Yost- Brian Van Holt

John Monad- Austin Nichols

Bill Jacks- Ed O'Neil

Ramon Gaviota- Luis Guzman

Shaun Yost- Greyson Fletcher

Vietnam Joe- Jim Beaver

Linc Stark- Luke Perry

Interesting enough that I'll keep watching but I think it's going to flop. Greenwood is awesome, Bundy is great, De Mornay is a GMILF and John has a retarded charm.

So, the arrival of John in town has so far affected Bundy and Sean when the bird came back to life and the levitation of Mitch. If they can somehow play the supernatural elements into this well enough it might just make it.

What the hell is the family makeup of the show supposed to be?

Mitch and Sissy are Butchie's parents...Butchie is Shaun's dad.

sure the cursing was sorta forced, but the phone conversation between Mitch and Butchie was priceless.

Thanks. I just checked imdb and De Mornay and Van Holt have a ten year age difference.

I watched about 20 mins of this and it didn't do a damn thing for me. If I hear it gets really good, I'll download the episodes and catch up to it.

But I'm getting rid of HBO soon anyway since the Sopranos are over. I can just download Entourage.

I wasn't sure about this show after the first episode but the second episode sold me. As mentioned, Ed O' Neill is superb. I really enjoy Butchie and John's interplay.

so, John is an alien that grants several people on this show powers...is that off base or are you guys thinking the same thing? It kinda reminds me of the movie "Starman"

I'm not really sure what to think right now.

But that episode and the preview for next week went a long way in keeping me watching. Much better than the first one.

I'm really interested to find out what's going on. I like a lot of the minor characters and I'll say it again... Ed O'Neill is owning this show right now.

I was so-so after the first episode. The second one has hooked me somewhat, and I hope that the 3rd will keep it going. I'm really interested in seeing exactly what the fuck is going on.

Bumped because it's on tonight and I also finished last weeks episode. An improvement on the first one, mainly because this one was rockin' appearances by Charlie Utter and Francis Wolcott of Deadwood fame. I figured it would've been John that brought Shaun out of his coma but when I saw Bill with his hand inside the jacket I knew he'd brought the bird to the hospital. Like Mik said, Ed O'Neil is far and away the best part about this show.

And is it wrong that I find Kai attractive?

Tonight's ep. was decent. It's hard to overcome the bad acting though. The kid playing Shaun is especially awful. The only good acting really is from Ed O'Neill and Luke Perry (who needs to be in the show more because he is the shit).

Terrible child acting aside, I quite enjoyed tonights episode. Dr. Smith being our eyes when it comes to the paranormal phenomenon was cool as the guy playing him is a very solid actor. Once again, Ed O'Neil runs shit. The movie chick trying to flim/bang Mitch is hot.

So, when John told Kai to see God she passed out, Vietnam Joe grabbed his leg and Butchie's hair went up in smoke?

I liked the escape scene.

Well, John is obviously preventing Butchie from shooting up, he stopped Kai from trying to have sex with what she thought was a retard, and who knows what he prevented Vietnam Joe from doing.

It was nice to see Spiros as a crazy druggie last night. He's really run the gamut on the HBO shows. He sells dope to Prop Joe, buys Aquaman 2 just so Vince can't make it and now he breaks his hand to spy on Shaunie Yost.

A ton going on this week.

I guess that John made all the metal heat up last week and that was the connection.

Ed O'Neill great again this week, as was John with the Mexicans and all that followed.

Can't wait to see what happens with Shaunie's porn star mom back to get him.

And this episode was a lot better with him in it at a minimum.

Gotta say, first episode I didn't really care for. No Dr. Smith and not nearly enough Freddie, Mitch or Bill. The focus on Sean's mother didn't really do anything for the story though I dug Cissy's bitch-fest through the entire episode and they had me on pins and needles thinking that Kai was gonna off herself. At least we got some lovely shots of Cass and her scrumptious breasts as well as the first official statement that John is at the center of it all.
