brokentusk16 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 The reason I ask is because I went into an Alltel provider this morning to set up an account and they asked for a $300 deposit! Is this common of all cell providers?
Vanhalen Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Yeah, they would never ask for a deposit, unless your credit was shot to hell.
brokentusk16 Posted August 7, 2007 Author Report Posted August 7, 2007 I don't have any credit. Do they really count that against me?
MrRant Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Actually, sometimes no credit can be worse than bad credit. Fucked up as that is.
Thoth Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 These people are correct. With no credit history, you're basically a wild card. Prove yourself by making your phone payments on time, or get a department store credit card, and you'll improve your credit record.
Guest Smues Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 I had to make a $150 deposit with Cingular when I signed up as I had no credit. The bullshit part was she told me 6 months, but when I tried to get my money back 6 months later I was told it was actually 12 months.
