Mecca 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 Well when the company goes under and none of those guys have jobs anymore you'll then care about why it's important for guys to make money. Wrestling is a business, why is this hard to understand? If they never make any money then what they are doing is not entertaining and not working because no one is willing to pay to see it. Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 Will you just enjoy the shows for what they are and stop worrying about a company making money or not? WCW fans used to cry that all the time in the last year or so of their existence; whenever the company got criticized, they'd bitch that the people complaining should shut up and just enjoy the show. Nobody's complaining about WCW programming now. If whatever TNA does isn't entertaining enough to start getting more PPV buys, which are their main source of income and are falling by the month, then Bob Carter and Panda might just take notice of TNA and one day decide they've had enough of throwing money away on a venture that has never made money and isn't even close to making money on it's own. Even the densest, and richest, of money marks wises up one day and stops pouring their money away, whether it's because they want to fund something else that might make money or because they're tired of absorbing the losses. And when that happens, the TNA supermarks won't have to worry about anyone bashing TNA.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 The question is however....would Vince just bury the TNA product like WCW or use their already existing TV deal and keep it running separately? Or is there another money mark like a Turner out there?
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 The question is however....would Vince just bury the TNA product like WCW or use their already existing TV deal and keep it running separately? Or is there another money mark like a Turner out there? Honestly, I don't know if he even knows of TNA's existence. He'd probably shut it down, fire the guys he doesn't like and keep the few guys as development talent jobbers until he bores of them.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 I doubt Vince cares about them at all. I certainly don't get the impression that he sees them as any sort of real competition. Unlike he did with WCW during the Monday night wars, nobody's ever mentioned TNA on the air even once that I can think of.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 Making shoot remarks about the competition just makes everybody look petty. As does all of the silly mockeries and gimmick infringements that they have been doing since the beginning of time. There is no need for the promotions to act like immature children. HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 Of course Vince McMahon knows about TNA. They are the second biggest wrestling promotion in the US. He knows about ROH, too. Anything below that is doubtful. Now would he buy TNA out if given the opportunity? Possibly. But it would be the same thing as WCW except for the whole Invasion thing. Take the guys you like (which is basically Joe and AJ) and put them on TV, give the rest development contracts or release them to the indies and keep the tape collection. Jingus 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 It would have to be REAL cheap, though. Vince had competed with NWA/WCW for decades, and finally got the opportunity to buy them out for a ridiculously low price, something like 3 million dollars. And WCW had a hell of a lot bigger and better tape library than TNA does.
