CanadianChris Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Of course it isn't. Everyone has the same opportunity to PM picks or pick late. I laughed when I saw Edwin's picks matched mine completely. I thought about switching, but why switch games you already think are right?
Bored Posted September 7, 2007 Author Report Posted September 7, 2007 This wasn't a particularly good week of games in terms of match-ups that are complete toss ups. I never put a game on the list that I don't think there's at least a chance of an upset but I picked several games this week that I knew there wouldn't be many differing picks. Cincinnati is going to save the late pickers as Hawk 34 was only one to pick the Bearcats.
Carnival Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I knew I should have pm'd my picks. damn cheaters. On the bright side of it; if Oregon steamrolls Michigan it'll be a easy victory for you. I actually was ready to send in my picks when I saw Spaceman Spiff's and my picks matched all of his. I had to think hard about which games to go against him on. I hope that isn't considered cheating. I consider it cheating, but i'm a bit of a whiner.

Cincinnati is going to save the late pickers as Hawk 34 was only one to pick the Bearcats. There were tons of tough games to pick out there. Give us Toledo vs. Central Michigan! Give us Ohio vs. Louisiana Lafayette! Give us Memphis vs. Arkansas State! Who needs these yawnfests like Virginia Tech/LSU?
Edwin MacPhisto Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Haha. We even had almost the same tiebreaker. Come on 10-7 game! The one pick I backed off was Western Michigan over Indiana, so if that happens, officially call me a football vag.
Hawk 34 Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I was shocked people actually brought into the Oregon State hype.
Fökai Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 After reading that Sloughter would play, I changed my mind. Oh well.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 In this case, I don't think people bought into the Oregon State hype as thought that Cincinnati was a pretty weak opponent, particularly after losing Dantonio to Michigan State. I was more surprised by that result than Middle Tennessee putting up 42 on Louisville. Upon further review, Cincinnati got 31 points off turnovers. Amazing! Oregon State's defense did more than fine, only allowing 229 yards, but the offense and special teams (two fucked-up punts leading to 14 UC points) just self-destructed. Now I wish I'd seen the game.

Secret Agent Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I'm rather shocked by the amount of people taking Colorado over Arizona State. I don't think Colorado is there just yet.
Guest Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Same. Colorado is in for a rude awakening.
Bored Posted September 8, 2007 Author Report Posted September 8, 2007 I have to put in replacement pick assignments for tommorrow in case the last two late pickers don't show up. Penn State - Tzar Lysergic Tennessee - MFerXtreme87 nogoodnick's picks SATURDAY Northwestern Nebraska Oklahoma Alabama Oregon Washington South Carolina Missouri North Carolina Texas Western Michigan LSU Arizona State Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Virginia Tech/LSU game? 47 Tiebreak #2: How many passing yards will Texas' Colt McCoy have against TCU? 258
Hawk 34 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 East Carolina puts me in the W again, thanks to my "risk" with UC but overall another poor overall record.
CanadianChris Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Come on LSU, I need 11 more points.
KingPK Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I tied, so I guess it's winnah winnah, chicken dinnah for me.
CanadianChris Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Please don't let it stay stuck on this score.
MFer Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Well at least I got the 55 combined points right...which is about all I can claim for this week.
iggymcfly Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Of course, teke gets the LSU score perfect. I guess to win this week, I needed to grow some balls and pull the trigger on South Carolina. I predicted them to upset UGA before the season started, but then I wussed out and took the favorite when making my picks.
teke184 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~! I'm stylin' and profilin' tonight! I got to watch a first-class ass whippin' in person, then come home and find out I've knocked off the #7 team! Where's my bar recipe book? This calls for Kamakazes...
Cuban Linx Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I hate these matchups where i'm relying on teams like East Carolina and Western Michigan to win, but it looks like i'll retain a top 3 ranking as long as Arizona State can hold onto a 19 point lead.
Bored Posted September 9, 2007 Author Report Posted September 9, 2007 Safe to call the game for Arizona State so on to the results. Bored Posted September 9, 2007 Author Report Posted September 9, 2007 The new formula is doing what it was meant to accomplish and that is mimic real life a little better. Everyone knows in past years in Week 2 there'd always 1-1 teams in the Top 10 but not anymore, everyone in the Top 10 is 2-0. Of course since we're only two weeks everyone is bunched together and there are quite a few ties but I break the ties by correct pick % and then just whoever was ranked higher the previous week as it really doesn't matter at this point. Plenty of shuffling but no change at the top. Bored Championship Series Rankings thru Week 2 1. LSU - teke184 1.15 2. Oklahoma - Secret Agent 1.65 3. South Carolina - Cuban Linx 2.25 4. Secret Agent Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 A preview of the final real BCS polls to decide the National Championship players?
teke184 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Maybe for 1 and 2, but certainly not #4. The Cuse just plain sucks this year. (The real team, not Chris)
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Woo! First win! A narrow one too, but yes! And yeah, I bought into the Oregon State hype, I'll admit it. Looks like Eugene's got the superior team in the state again this year, even if the run defense doesn't look too good.
CanadianChris Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Maybe for 1 and 2, but certainly not #4. The Cuse just plain sucks this year. (The real team, not Chris) This year and every year, it seems.
Danville_Wrestling Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Those MAC teams have cost me two weeks in a row. I just need to quit picking them. Of course if I had gone with my gut on South Carolina then I wouldn't have lost outright.
