Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Holy crap! Louisville's defense bites them on the ass again just when it looked like Kentucky blew it with the personal foul. Still 28 seconds left but Louisville has no timeouts. Edit: Kentucky doesn't go for two which is bizarre to keep it at six points. Yeah. 28 second with to's is a life-time for that UL offense. It's not as if UK's defense is that good.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 ...Did I just see that score correctly on the ticker? Did Lafayette really beat Penn by a score of 8-7?? *checks ESPN.com* Yep. 8-7. Wow. What a shitty sounding game.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Man, fuck. How the hell can anyone possibly get the gift of all time personal foul penalty and then give up a TD to a blatantly wide open receiver? How is Mike Cassity possibly employed after that shit tonight? Three games in and U of L's season is already down the drain. It doesn't really matter though, since with the shitty defense there's no way we could actually beat serious teams like WVU or Rutgers anyway. In fact I'd be shocked if we didn't lose to USF and Cincy as well. Brohm should have just gone pro rather than become a glorified jobber. It reminds me so much of 2002 when Dave Ragone came back for his senior year and lost to UK.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 It's all over, Duke beat Northwestern 20-14 to snap their 22 game losing streak. Northwestern had first and goal on the 7 in the final 30 seconds and couldn't punch it in.

Guest Report post Posted September 16, 2007 I sure as hell hope Nebraska's starters could score against SC's backups. That would have been sad if the Huskers couldn't put points on the board against second stringers.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 BwaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Bad day in general for the Big Ten. Minnesota loses to one of the worst I-A teams in Fla-Atlantic, Northwestern loses to THE worst I-A team of the past several years in Duke, Ohio State and Wisconsin look underwhelming against Washington and The Citadel, respectively, etc. About the only things that went right were Penn State winning big, Michigan shellacking Notre Dame, and Purdue thumping Central Michigan. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 King, why is the only time Mark Sanchez in the game is to hand the ball off? I would like to see some passing from him.
Guest Report post Posted September 16, 2007 He's recovering from a broken finger. I really don't have any other answer. He can throw, but since Mustain is at SC on his transfer, good luck on Sanchez ever getting the job.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Is Mustain even that much better than Sanchez? I would figure he would be given the job next season since he would have a full season more's worth of knowledge of the USC playbook.
Guest Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Mustain is running the scout team. And Carroll loves him. Mustain is probably better. And both would be starting for any non top-5 team if they weren't here, I believe.

You do realize that Wisconsin took control in the second half after the new cornerback (the guy taking over for our best cb after he was hurt on the first play) right? And PJ Hill scored 5 touchdowns? Would 7 or 8 not been underwhelming?

(They were in the "Others Receiving Votes" category in the last poll, putting them roughly at 30th.) Wisconsin DID get it together by the end and won solidly, but they're NOT a Top 10 team right now despite being ranked as such. Neither is Texas, BTW, who only beat Central Florida by 3. Guest Gym Class Fallout Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Wisconsin's win wasn't winny enough. There were much winnier wins in less winnable games. I suggest that Wisconsin's record be adjusted to 2.75-0.

teke184 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 We are forgetting about Illinois, they won today and are now 2-1 I got a feeling they are gonna be a sleeper team Illinois won't go deep. They've got The Zooker in charge and, while he can direct talent to join the team, he's never been very good at directing them on the field. (Zook's teams are perennial underachievers given the talent he has available. They may go bowling this year because of a weakened Big Ten, but they'll lose to whoever they face.) teke184 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 On LSU-MTSU tonight, from the FoxSports board: "Middle Tennessee State hangs 42 points and 554 total yards on Louisville. In Louisville. They had 89 total yards against the Tigers. Anyone out there still not convinced?"
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 I hope next week's win is by a few dozen points and our running back scores at least ten touchdowns. Then Wisconsin wont be so weak.

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Somewhat quietly amidst some bigger upsets today, Boston College completely handled Georgia Tech to take pole position as a frontrunner in the ACC. Really impressed with how Matt Ryan navigated the usually sound GT defense. They're Boston College, so they'll lose a retarded game they should win against Maryland or something like that, but they're looking like one of the most balanced teams in the country so far.
