CanadianChris Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Really, this looks like a pretty crappy week of football. NE/DAL and maybe WSH/GB are the only ones that really interest me.
Black Lushus Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 doesn't NBC get to start picking which game they want after a certain week?
CanadianChris Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Yeah, I think it starts in week 10.
Mike wanna be Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Trade deadline this week; anybody thinking about a move? Carolina needs a QB with Carr being injured, regardless of whether or not he can go. Yahoo claims a rumor is Chris Leak; somehow I don't think the team is bad enough to warrant picking up an undrafted rookie to step in at QB, but putting him at third-string wouldn't be a horrible move.
Kinetic Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Tampa needs another body at RB. Mewelde Moore and Tatum Bell are rumors, although Minnesota apparently wants too much for the former. Speaking as a fan of both the Gators and Bucs, I hope Carolina does pick Chris Leak up and inserts him into the starting lineup immediately.
Karc Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 This sucks. I live in LA. I'm getting Oakland and San Diego. I don't want Oakland or San Diego. That's why they are in different cities, and not in LA. This is why we threw out our football teams. So we can watch the good games instead of our crappy teams. 5-0 Dallas vs. 5-0 New England. Not this shit. Grrrrr.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Get NFL Sunday Ticket on Direct TV. Im really looking forward to Oakland and San Diego, however. I wanna see how the Raiders stack up and if this is for real or not.
Kinetic Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Or go to a sports bar. Or follow the tiny, colored moving lines on NFL.com.

Kinetic Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 I can't imagine why they'd change either team's division in that scenario. These things don't need to be geographically accurate.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Because otherwise it'd be 5 for West and 3 for South?
Kinetic Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 No, the LA Jaguars would still be in the AFC South. The Chiefs would still be in the AFC West.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 LA Jaguars is terrible. They would definitely need a new name. Go Los Angeles Creeping Smog!
Kinetic Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 The Los Angeles Disaster. The Los Angeles Trojans. The Los Angeles Gang Violence. It should be something that'll still work when the team moves to San Antonio in a decade.
Kawalimus Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Jacksonville Jaguars should had been Baltimore Ravens and then the Browns would never moved from Cleveland. Cause NFL didn't think Baltimore was good area for a team and Jack Kent Cooke fought keep a team out of Baltimore. So if NFL would given a team to Baltimore like they should you'd never see a team leave Cleveland and no team in Jacksonville to move. So the divisions would look like this. AFC West Broncos Chargers Chiefs Raiders AFC North Steelers Bengals Colts Browns AFC South Ravens Titans Texans LA Stars AFC East same And NFC the same. Just no Jaguars cause that's what the Ravens would have gone.
Kinetic Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 I like that one! I'm sorry, but I can't think of any way to work the Baltimore Ravens into this post. I'm very, very sorry.
Kawalimus Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Can someone explain to me the working the Ravens into a post joke? I am new posting here though I registered back in March. Ravens are part of the NFL so if I have something to say about em shouldn't that be ok in this thread??? I am a Baltimore fan, most of my news comes from Baltimore teams. Next week the RAMS a team used to be in LA comes to Baltimore one time for the next eight years. My Ravens might not be too good this year. But if we can beat the RAMS and the BILLS next two weeks we're gonna be 5-2. 5-2 is in good shape and miracle for a team with t his many injuries lost players and poor performances. 5-2=good 4-3=bad 3-4=done That's what we gotta avoid.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Kawalimus just might be an even worse poster than Marvinisalunatic. Can someone explain to me the working the Ravens into a post joke? I am new posting here though I registered back in March. Ravens are part of the NFL so if I have something to say about em shouldn't that be ok in this thread??? No. See, the problem is, is that no one else outside of whomever is a Ravens fan (of which there are maybe two others here) cares about them to the extent that you do, and it is incredibly annoying to work them into the conversation when there is nothing even tangentially related to them being talked about. I'm all for new blood in sports folder threads, but not if it's going to bring self-centered homers like this.
Kawalimus Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 But it's NFL and it's a forum that's for people expressing their ideas and opinions. I know nobody cares about the Ravens but there are two others and see here's the thing, you can't just say there are teams in this league that don't matter. Cause all teams do. I don't care about the Saints but if someone talk about them that doesn't bother me. And yes the Ravens are related to the Jaguars. Cause back when NFL expanded to include Jacksonville and Carolina Baltimore was one of those cities wanted those teams. But What did Paul Tagliabue tell us? NO!!! He told us build a museum with our money. So we stole the Browns and told the NFL go fuck itself cause now WE HAVE A TEAM!!! But if NFL would just given the Jaguars to Baltimore it never would happened that way. NFL made a bad choice. And now LA would have a team.
Guest Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 It would be cool to get a team I actually like as the hometown team, that being the Jags, of course. The Vikings or Colts, as was rumored a way long time ago? Buncha fuck that.
cabbageboy Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 You would want the Jags to move to LA instead of the Colts? You know what the Jags are? A poor man's version of the....BATIMORE RAVENS! SUN, OCT 14 Minnesota at Chicago 1:00 PM Fox: Yeah this is just what the world needs, the Bears making an ill advised run at the playoffs. Chicago by 10. Miami at Cleveland 1:00 PM CBS: What is this, the Browns being sorta decent? Cleveland by 7. Washington at Green Bay 1:00 PM Fox: I think the floodgates may have opened with that Bears game and it might be down hill for the Pack from here. Redskins by 3. Cincinnati at Kansas City 1:00 PM CBS: Who knows with these two. Bengals need the win and I can't help but think the Chiefs suck. Cincy by 4. Tennessee at Tampa Bay 1:00 PM CBS: No Cadillac and Vince Young finds a way to get fluke wins on a regular basis. Titans by 1, maybe 21-20. St. Louis at Baltimore 1:00 PM Fox: Oh this won't be pretty. The Ravens are going to maim them physically...but of course the score will end up like 10-7. Houston at Jacksonville 1:00 PM CBS: Hmm...Houston is still banged up right? They seem to own the Jags, but I sense that stops here for the time being. JAX in their usual dull plodder, 14-10. Philadelphia at NY Jets 1:00 PM Fox: Surely McNabb can beat the freakin Jets, right? Philly by 7. Carolina at Arizona 4:05 PM Fox: David Carr (if it IS him) is not the answer. Not when the resurgent old man Warner there for the Cardinals. AZ by 10. Oakland at San Diego 4:15 PM CBS: I can't buy Oakland as a serious team, I just can't. SD will continue to play like they have a pair and win by 17. New England at Dallas 4:15 PM CBS: Okay, after this week I feel confident in saying that Tony Romo is going to get assraped in very painful fashion. Patriots by 14. New Orleans at Seattle 8:15 PM NBC: How is THIS the Sunday night game over NE/Dallas? Seattle will win it and keep the Saints tanking, 28-21. MON, OCT 15 NY Giants at Atlanta 8:30 PM ESPN: Man, what is this? Giants actually having some winnable games? What were the schedule makers doing, trying to keep Coughlin employed? NYG by 7.
Mike wanna be Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Tagliabue said to take your money elsewhere? Seems to me any remotely decent offer would have been accepted, considering Florida already had 2 NFL franchises as well as 3 quality college football teams at the time. Modell moved the team because he had screwed the Indians out of so much money they went and built Jacobs Field to get out of his stadium, and the loss of revenue from 81 baseball home games was too much for him to take. Served him right, too, considering how good the Indians became as soon as they played in a stadium that wasn't an embarrassment.
Bored Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Uh, hi, TSM NFL weekly posters. I've been doing some thinking, and I've got some ideas to improve the thread. I got it right here *pulls out piece of paper* One, the Baltimore Ravens need to be talked about at all times, have their own sub folder, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever someone isn't talking about the Ravens, all other posters should be asking "Where's the Ravens?" Three...
Slayer Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Great, great... just leave that on the floor on your way out of here
Kawalimus Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Any Baltimore fan knows the story. Baltimore wanted one of those expansion teams and we were first on that list. We showed him had plans for a stadium. We wanted that team the fans were begging for it. But what did he say? NO! And how are the jags a "poor man's ravens"? Baltimore supports its team. Ravens fans some of the best in the country. Small region? Yes. But not bad support like in Jacksonville. Just cause they don'thave much national following don't make em worthless. Some of you are acting like you have to talk about the Ravens. YOU DONT!!! But why can't I???
