Exslade ZX Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 http://www.scifi.com/tinman/ Surprised to not see a thread on this yet. (And it's not as if you can search for it) But anyways, am I the only one looking forward to this? It seemed like something to pass on when I first of heard of it, but I must say, the constant promotion (Including being the first thing Yahoo when I got on earlier) has gotten to me. The more I see the commercials the more intrigued I am. I don't like the fact that it's a miniseries, I'd much prefer it were in movie format, but that really won't hurt it to much. And for all I know it might make it better (I don't know how many episodes it's supposed to be). It starts tomorrow at 9, and I'm definitely gonna try and catch it.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 OZ is now O.Z. (The Outer Zone) yeah.. The Wizard of OZ didn't really need a 21rst century sci fi reimaging.. I like this review snipet from the Boston Globe: The three-part miniseries (running Sunday through Tuesday at 9 p.m.) veers so far from the yellow brick road that at its best it approaches something Tim Burton might have cobbled together with the spare change in his pocket. At its worst moments - and there are many - it plays like a Lifetime adaptation crossed with something the Style network might have dreamt for Halloween. And yes, it did occur to me that this will be in HD but I have no intentions of watching regardless.
Gary Floyd Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I might watch for a good laugh. This really does have "televised disaster" written all over it.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Zooey Deschanel will look good and probably be wasted. But she will look good. Mmmm.
2GOLD Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I'll watch for the overacting and Richard Dreyfus so I can wonder what the hell he's doing there. Other than that, I'm not holding out hope for much.
The Robfather Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Guess I'll watch it.... doesn't seem to be getting good reviews, though
NoCalMike Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I missed the first half hour/forty-five minutes of the first episode. Got a question... Is DG, the original Dorothy's daughter? Or is she the same Dorothy Gail, just older and has forgotten about her previous trips to OZ As for the movie, it was decent, not great, but just as well, good enough to have me interested to watch part two.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I don't think this miniseries has any standing with the old movie. So I'd say DG is Dorothy, but the story being told differently.
Gary Floyd Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Eh, it wasn't a complete disaster (Viva! Laughlin), but it still wasn't that good.
2GOLD Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Richard snorting bubbles as a drugged up Wizard of Oz was awesome. The thing was so hilariously pathetic though that I couldn't take it serious. Zoey just phoned in her performance and I'm actually shocked how poorly she did. Calling the villains Long Coats was weak though. Shoulda called them Duster Leather Daddies instead, would have worked better.
