KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 I didn't see it (work) but that Celtics/Cavs game sounded like it was bowling shoe ugly* as Boston won 80-70. They seem to be winning every kind of game lately. *© Jim Ross
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Nothing wrong with winning ugly. Winning is winning, whether its by one point or thirty-one. Pistons with a nice win over New Jersey. You know something is amiss when Jason Kidd can have near 20 assists and they still lose by 22. I'm just surprised as to how the Pistons are winning. They are just grinding teams into dust over the space of four quarters. Its a nice littel rtun they're on.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 People have this misconception that Cleveland is an exciting team just because LeBron James is there. He's exciting, but as a team, I find them to be brutal, personally. I thought it was hilarious that they were supposed to be saving us from a supposedly boring Spurs/Pistons series, when they're about 20x as boring as either team. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 (edited) Pacers take 3 of 4 on the trip, beating the Clippers this afternoon. Jermaine looks like he's finally returning to form, with 20 points and 15 rebounds. We're really getting it in the ass with the schedule early in the season. I'd be thrilled even with a split of this week's games. Edited December 3, 2007 by alfdogg
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 People have this misconception that Cleveland is an exciting team just because LeBron James is there. He's exciting, but as a team, I find them to be brutal, personally. I thought it was hilarious that they were supposed to be saving us from a supposedly boring Spurs/Pistons series, when they're about 20x as boring as either team. Thats because they don't have a lot of decent players around LBJ to take the scoring pressure off of him. Drew Gooden can be a great player, but there is something missing there. Ilgauskas is nice, but the team as a whole stands around and watches BJ iso too much. I think they made a mistake trading away Flip Murray, and now he's starting to do for the Pistons what he used to do for the Cavs. They caught lighning in a bottle last year to make it to the Finals. No one expect Boobie Gibson to forget he's Boobie Gibson and make everything he threw up at the basket. Then LBJ channeled some greatness, the Pistons were victims of their own arrogance, and they got beat. But until they get a say, James Worthy to play alongside LBJ's Magic Johnson/Michael Jordan hybrid, they aren;t going to succeed. And fuck the BCS right in its computerized ear, Czech. And you know as well as I you shouldn't say anything to someone who wants to fight you when you are even *mildly* critical of their teams, rather than have a debate. LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Today's news bits: Billy King has finally been fired by Philadelphia. Anderson Varejao signed an offer sheet with the Bobcats. Cleveland has one week to attempt to match the three year deal, money is not being made public currently as of the article I read on Yahoo.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/story/10511914 According to that article it's for 3 yrs/~$ 17 million (mid level exception), but Varejao could opt out after year 2 and become a free agent, which he more than likely would because he thinks he's worth much more than he actually is. Guest Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Iverson has a lot of points in this game. A lot. For the first time in a while, we won both of a back-to-back on the road. Huzzah.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 And the Pistons go 4-0 in this 4 games in 5 night stretch. New Orleans jumped out to a 15 point lead, but the Pistons groound them down and won by 15. Now its onto the Bulls at home on Friday night. Jason Maxiell is a fucking monster right now. I like those bruising PFs that take the ball to the basket consistently and try to throw it down the opposition's throat. Jarvis Hayes appears to be the savior that the Pistons needed: a proven scorer off the bench who can play defense.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I am still waiting on the eventual Jarvis injury. Even if he isn't injured on the court, some Wizards fan is going to run him down with their car for finally being healthy for another team. I expect the same to happen to Grant Hill. Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Iverson has a lot of points in this game. A lot. For the first time in a while, we won both of a back-to-back on the road. Huzzah. Iversons teamates really coughed this one up. they started triple teaming him in the 4th and they couldn't hit any open looks he was giving them. But watching the first 47 points was a thing to behold though.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 That is a New York Daily news story, so it is a 98.8 percent chance it isn't true. He said he was sick, so until he or some one not full of shit says it, I will believe it.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 It's also totally out of character for Kidd in that he hasn't attempted to first get his coach fired.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Fun quote from Suns coach Mike D'Antoni following last night's runnin' and gunnin' victory over the Toronto Raptors... "Offensively we were just awesome," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "They're a good defensive team. They've been holding people to 43 per cent. But c'mon, they're Canadian." Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 In a moment that defines how I feel about Mike Woodson, the Hawks are down one with a 2 seconds to go. Mike Woodson draws up a play, and Anthony Johnson does the "something stinks" face, looks at him, and just says shakes his head. Woodson looks at Johnson, then erases the play completely and runs another. What the hell. Hawks win on the final play, but I shudder to think what the original play was. Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 I'm not bitter. Grant Hill is making my team better. But if he isn't hurt by game 50, I expect some crazed Magic fan to come running out the stands with a hammer.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 I was typing up a post, and my Fast Reply just vanished on me. Weird. Pacers win in Orlando 115-109. 7 out of 8 players scored in double figures, and we shot 11-20 from the 3-point line, including 6-7 from Danny Granger. Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 So on this Hawks board I post on, I am getting chewed out because I didn't put Jose Calderon in the top ten point guards in the league. I had him some where around 15. People seemed to have issue with me putting Jamal Tinsley, Jameer Nelson, Andre Miller, starting minutes Antonio Daniels and healthy Sam Cassell infront of him. Am I crazy, or are they highly overrating the guy because of the stats he puts up in a uptempo offense where he is surrounded by shooters.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 I don't really like Nelson. I'd put him ahead of Nelson and probably Daniels, who's decent but Calderon is getting minutes over Ford now. I wouldn't say he's top ten though.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 I don't really like Nelson. I'd put him ahead of Nelson and probably Daniels, who's decent but Calderon is getting minutes over Ford now. I wouldn't say he's top ten though. They are suggesting that the Hawks should trade Al Horford or Josh Smith for Calderon. And I am underrating his abilities by calling those trades fucking stupid. I still think Nelson and Daniels are better, but putting him above Nelson and Daniels still puts him around 13-14 in the league. I said Calderon is a above average point guard but not great and I swear it was like I said Hitler was cool. This is Marco Jaric all over again. Only with less height. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 Who would you rank as your top ten? I'd go Nash and Kidd as one and two. After that it's a tossup. Davis, Williams, and Paul as 3-5. Parker and Billups are the next two. Probably Hinrich, Miller, and a healthy Cassell are next, along with Tinsley. I don't know whether or not to include Arenas and Iverson. If Arenas and Iverson are included I'd probably place them around the Davis, William and Paul spots.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 In no particular order(because that would take too much time) I would say: Steve Nash Jason Kidd Chris Paul Deron Williams Baron Davis Chauncy Billups Tony Parker Andre Miller Jamal Tinsley TJ Ford(he isn't losing minutes to Calderon, he has been hurt. He always gets his starting spot back when every he comes back from injury.) Devin Harris, healthy Sam Cassell, Kirk Hinrich, Jameer Nelson, Jose Calderson and starting Antonio Daniels are right after that. Its amazing how many people are saying that Andre Miller sucks all of a sudden because he ended up going to a horrible team.
