CanadianChris Posted March 4, 2008 Author Report Posted March 4, 2008 That shocked me when I heard about it this morning. "Angel Eyes" was on the radio constantly when I was in high school.
Bruiser_Brody_ Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Patrick Swayze Diagnosed With Cancer, Five Weeks Left to Live Atlanta, GA 3/05/2008 03:05 PM GMT (FINDITT) Patrick Swayze, best known for his role in Dirty Dancing, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told that he has just five weeks to live. Swayze, 55, has been sick with the disease since he was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer. The cancer has since spread to other organs and now the actor/dancer is dying. For the past month, Swayze has been traveling to Stanford University’s prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful, according to the National Enquirer. Swayze received three treatments of chemotherapy, causing the tumor to shrink, but less than his doctors had hoped for. He was then told that he should prepare for the end.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Im surprised Im scooping JN News! Don Curtis
JN News Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I believe that the last time we all saw both Don Curtis & Johnny Weaver on live TV was at the WCW Slamboree 1994 PPV, when they were being introduced as part of the "Legend's Reunion".
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Im on the board with Mikey Dread (Raegae Singer/Producer/DJ) who died on saturday. He was 54 and no one else had him so that should be 75 points.
JN News Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 RIP to Johnny Weaver, Don Curtis, & Gary Hart
CanadianChris Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 This year is worse than last year. Nearly a quarter of the way through the year, and only four people have points. Updated standings - March 18, 2008 (changes in red) 75 - Marvinisalunatic 45 - Darthtiki, Toshiaki Koala, Vern Gagne
Silence Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 This year is worse than last year. Nearly a quarter of the way through the year, and only four people have points. Yeah, we're going to have to make as many random predictions as possible for next year.
tominator89 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I should have added Arthur C. Clarke to my list. Oh well. EDIT: He didn't die yet, but he probably will shortly. Damnit!
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Anthony Minghella director of The English Patient and other movies..
Red Baron Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Even though I have zero points, I should be on the leader board with an asterisk because of Bhutto.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Im on the board again with Al Copeland, founder of Popeyes Chicken and owner of the Improv Comedy club in LA. Ironic he died of salivary gland cancer. At 64 and with no one else having him its 65 points.
Youth N Asia Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Former wrestling nobody Chase Tatem died
CanadianChris Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 Great. I've gone 16 months without scoring, and Marvin gets two in under two weeks. Updated standings - March 26, 2008 (changes in red) 140 - Marvinisalunatic 45 - Darthtiki, Toshiaki Koala, Vern Gagne
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 My best bet was supposed to be dead soon but it seems he's living life and not dying, which is actually good for him.
Youth N Asia Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I pretty much just pick people that either look like they're going to die or wouldn't shock me if they did. I need to start researching who's sick
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Treble, NYU, Cuban_Linx and Darthtiki had him for 20 points.
Darthtiki Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Anyone know of someone who can appraise my collection of Heston stuff?
CanadianChris Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Treble, NYU, Cuban_Linx and Darthtiki had him for 20 points. You missed someone, thanks.
CanadianChris Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Updated standings - April 6, 2008 (changes in red) 140 - Marvinisalunatic 65 - Darthtiki 45 - Toshiaki Koala, Vern Gagne 20 - Cuban Linx, KOAB, NYU, treble
Vampiro69 Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I had Heston last year, but for some reason forgot to include him this year.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Stanley Kamel - (Monk's psychiatrist on Monk)
Red Baron Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 I think next year I'm gonna name some hockey legends. There are a bunch of them that are nearly kicking the bucket.
Silence Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 I think next year I'm gonna name some hockey legends. There are a bunch of them that are nearly kicking the bucket. How's Wayne Gretzky doing?
Sideburnious Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Ugh, i'm fucking convinced that I had Heston. I must have had him some other year.
CanadianChris Posted April 12, 2008 Author Report Posted April 12, 2008 Stanley Kamel - (Monk's psychiatrist on Monk) I remember this guy playing someone I was really familiar with, but for the life of me, I can't remember who it was.
Red Baron Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 I think next year I'm gonna name some hockey legends. There are a bunch of them that are nearly kicking the bucket. How's Wayne Gretzky doing? Fine. I'm thinking like Ted Linsday, Ted Kennedy, Jean Bealiveau, Johnny Bauer, Gordie Howe, even Serge Savard. I should add Peter Zezel. Dude nearly added 120 pounds since retirement.
