It's important to all of us, and I agree with Leena. Supporting California hockey teams is not allowed, not after Star Ocean 3 ruined every hockey thread last year.

God fucking damnit, how do you let the Giants run all over you like that.

Put like 12 in the box, and let the drooling moron back there fumble or whatever. Ugh.

Jesus Christ, CanadianChris, one game doesn't change everything in the NFL. Do you watch Espn all day or do you just like to drool on your keyboard?

Kind of hard for me to watch ESPN all day, considering I don't get it.

I don't see how a disinterested observer could say definitively that Green Bay is the clear favourite in the NFC after watching today's game. It's not that they're losing; they're getting embarrassed by a bad team. They still should make the NFC title game, since there aren't any other good teams in the NFC besides Dallas, but they can't be considered the clear favourite.

The Packers will definitely lose to the Cowboys in the NFC Title Game if it's played in Chicago with 22 mph wind gusts and 18 degree temperatures, plus a little snow.

What, is Green Bay suddenly in Southern California? The Packers don't know how to play in bad weather anymore? And are the Bears somehow playing in 70-degree weather right now?

Their team's not really built for adverse weather conditions, which many people were saying was the knock on them this year. Their biggest threat has been their college-style spread offense featuring all five of their dangerous receivers, and Ryan Grant aside, the only time they were effective on offense today was when they did that a bit, but the wind fucked with the passing game. They're not the sort of team that can win the smashmouth sort of game this year; they spread teams out and get into shootouts, which they usually win.

It's not really the weather so much as the wind and the horrible special teams play that fucked them up today. This game is a very poor measure of how well the Packers have played this year.

Oh. I didn't know.

It's not that important to me.

Ok, so The Giants look like they lock up the #5 seed, while the #6 seed is up for grabs between Minnesota, Washington and New Orleans. So from what I have read thus far, Washington loses tonight and they are eliminated, at the same they also hold their own destiny, if they win out they are in. I think New Orleans gets the tie-breaker at 9-7 though, so Washington has to win out to get in.

Jaguars pound the Raiders 49-11 and clinch one AFC WC spot, and with the Steelers winning the Central due to Cleveland's loss, the final slot comes down between Tennessee and Cleveland.

And to think I was thinking Green Bay was the favourite in the NFC now with TO's ankle injury.

Owens played in the Super Bowl with a broken leg. If the Cowboys needed him he'd probably play with his bum ankle too.

Vikings for NFC champs! Bitches can't touch the next best running back in the history of football, and I hear they have a run defense.

What kind of durgs are you on?

Saints lost to the Eagles, putting Minnesota into a "win and in" scenario tonight against the Sean Taylor Memorial Playoff Appearance

It looks like Cleveland is in with a Tennessee loss, regardless of what happens in the Browns/49ers game next week. If Tennessee wins out, they hold the tiebreaker for strength of victory. If the Titans lose, Cleveland will have a better conference record.

Fourth and one with six seconds left, down by 5...and you RUN a BOOTLEG to get the FIRST DOWN.

Somebody fire Cleveland's offensive coordinator. What the fuck are you doing getting a first down.

He figured the Bengals would never see it coming?

I don't understand why the Giants don't just run the ball a shitload of times with Jacobs and Bradshaw. There's no reason why Manning should be throwing near 30 attempts or more per game.

Agreed. They rushed for nearly 300 Yards today. Bradshaw looks like a potential star (or is the Bills Run D just that pathetic?)

It's Gilbride. He's an awful playcaller who gives up *way* too fast on the run. He has to go in the offseason no matter what

And amazingly the Giants finish 7-1 on the road this year. Obviously they played a lot of soft teams but that's damn impressive in the NFL

Yes. The Bills defense is extremely small. Thus why the Giants should have run Jacobs 50 times, if need be.

And the Bills know how stubborn Gilbride is.

BTW, if the Jets beat Tennessee (currently down 10-6) and Minnesota beats the Skins tonight then all the playoff spots will be clinched in both conferences. All that would be left for Week 17 would be seeding.

This would totally kill NBC as they would have no big game to show next Sunday Night. If this happens they'll probably just stick with the scheduled KC/Jets game due to NY and the "Herm Edwards Factor"

A wise call if so, because there isn't another person on the planet that would see "Go for the first down" as a feasible call in that situation.

I'm convinced that some teams should just hold Madden tournaments and hire the winners, because they can't be much worse than their own selections for the position.

I know a lot of the Pack fans are blaming this game on bad weather (which deserves its fair share) but to act like it's preferrable for the Packers to play in Dallas is asinine. Last time I checked Green Bay gets pwned there most of the time and Brett Favre does poorly against teams in the dome (for the most part). Add in the actual 'on the road' factor and I don't see how this is advantageous.

Dallas is still the clear cut favourite in the NFC.
