No Way Out

The PPV was great until we got the shitty finish to the WWE Title match and Hunter's predictable win knocking it from what could've been an almost solid 10, 9 rating. All I was asking for either Cena to win the belt or Orton to beat Cena by cheating like pulling his tights or something. It's ridiculous how WWE has to pull bullshit like to piss off a hot crowd (I love my hometown) in order to protect both men yet again. Also, it would've been if Jeff Hardy or anybody else for that matter would've won the Elimination Chamber yet.

I loved the Mayweather / Show segment. It was amazing to see Show back in shape.

Overall, I'm glad I got to attend though.

So, is it still cool to blame HHH for everything?

To an extent. There was no good reason for Hunter to win his THIRD Elimination Chamber.

Huh? Punk/Chavo was good at best. They had some fun moments but there was no story, no real flow, it was just 'movez~!' One minute Punk was in a bodyscissors, next they looked like they were building pace to the finish, then they slowed down again all of a sudden (not just with the heel, Chavo, on offense either). Good, but no better.

The SD Chamber was a mess, aside from the eliminations themselves. They showed a replay of Undertaker stomping Batista in the gut. That sums up how painfully slow it was until Finlay came in.

Flair/Kennedy was better than I expected, but hardly great.

Rey/Edge was what it was. Show/Mayweather was one of the best segments they've done in the year since Mania 23, granted. That was when the show picked up.

The finish to Cena/Orton made sense and it arguably made Orton look better than he would have done by winning clean or cheating to win. And they couldn't blow it off at NWO, given Mania plans. It wasn't a clean finish, but it was the RIGHT finish.

Aside from it explaining him being in the WrestleMania main-event, right?

To be fair, this is like the first 6-match PPV since WM 12. Possibly SSeries 02 was.

Vengeance 2005, which was also held here was 6 matches. So was Backlash last year.

Granted, it could've been better, but I blame that it on time constaints. If anything, I was more surprised by a Guerrero winning clean. When's the last time that happened?

I wasn't expecting anything great considering who was involved. Undertaker came in and kicked ass, which is what the people wanted.

I liked it a lot and it came off really good.

No, it made him look like a complete pussy, which is something you don't do if you're trying to make his character be taken seriously since he stopped the Shakespearean pose, had his head shaved, and has been on a roll by getting clean wins since he won the title. This was the 2nd time they did a DQ finish on PPV in the Cena / Orton feud and it was needless as it ruined what was going to be another Cena / Orton classic. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Aside from it explaining him being in the WrestleMania main-event, right?

He could've done that any other way.

It's all politics with HHH right now - he knows he's screwing over Hardy and the "boys" know he's screwing over Hardy and thus he's trying to put him over in any quasi-meaningful way he can. Hardy's time is now, and he'll probably never be as over as he is now with fans clamoring for a title win as they are now however HHH wants his title. So first you have Hardy go over HBK clean on Raw, and then you have Hardy kick out of the pedigree - that's supposed to calm the critics.

I think HHH catches too much crap sometimes. He should be credited for allowed hardy to kick out of the most deadly move in wrestling history. I mean he put him over in a big way last night, even though he won. And this is on top of losing clean to him on ppv. If i recall correctly, it was HHH who initially wanted to push hardy hard when jericho came in to counteract him so his push right now is in part due to hhh to begin with. Aside from that one night on ppv, he hasn't held the world title in a long time and has consistently put people over. Some of the excuses people come up with to hate on him, like ignoring hardy's win over him the night before, just seem lame.

They should have let Hardy kick out in the style of Warrior at WM12. I'd love to see Hardy cracking out some clotheslines and a big splash.

I haven't watched any wrestling at all since a little bit last summer, but this is one of the coolest spots I've ever seen. How big of a 'holy shit!' moment was ths live?

I wasn't there, but I don't think it was a "holy shit' moment at all..I knew exactly what was coming when Batista went to ram Taker into the cell. It was a lot like Taker's tombstone reversal on Orton at WM21.

It's one of those spots where if you've seen it before, it isn't that impressive, but if you've never seen it and aren't expecting it...it's a wow, but just shy of a holy shit.
