MFer 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Hmm...well at least Brook is banging Michelle Wie now (in addition to making millions).
Bored 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Actually Robin is banging Michelle Wie. Guess she didn't know Brooke is the one who'll be a lottery pick but as mentioned she has plenty of her own money. Hopefully they'll have kids so we get a seven foot latin/asian golfer.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 So is that why Wie's game sucks these days? Brook should be a high draft pick with a nice career, and Robin will be a serviceable journeyman big. Not bad for one egg.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Saying "it's not a problem, let's move on" when NONE of your starters are 70% or better from the line, is laughable. They've obviously made strides to correct that over the course of the season, but he must be fooling himself to believe that he was never worried about this going into the tournament. It's not a problem. Memphis gets to the free throw line more than enough times each game, that usually their free throw shooting has very little impact on the game. And in the last two games, it seems to be an asset. Coaches don't use that as an excuse. Calipari doesn't. He just flat-out denies it. It's percentages, Bob. That's how we measure how well they could do. In the Final Four, with four terrific defensive teams? Dribble-drive motion will only work for so long against a low-post force in Love or Hansborough (who both love to disrupt motion and passing lanes), or the best defensive backcourt in the nation in Robinson, Chalmers and Rush. With said defenses, free throws are going to come at a premium. So, bad free-throw shooting comes down to one of three factors: lack of practice/repetition, bad form, or pressure. Which one does Memphis fall into, and will it come back to bite them in the ass? As an addendum, Mississippi State had both Kansas and Memphis on the ropes in a short span, and it was their own late-game execution that cost themselves the game. but unless you're arguing on the side of censorship and such, there's no way you can argue that he's not being smug about it. People have been doubting Memphis all season. He's proved them wrong, he has a right to be smug. So you are agreeing with me? I know he has a right to be smug - he's made it this far and with only one loss overall. But there is a reason why people dislike Bill Belichick and took great joy in his defeat. After delving into the subject a little more, I answered my own question - yes, Calipari has always been a smug bastard. Fran Fraschilla [sp?] says that Calipari's likability cames with his naiveness and paranoia. For the record, I enjoy watching them play, and I'm not rooting for them to lose. I'm just posting an observation. Then why did you say fuck Memphis. Fuck Calipari then. I'm rooting for UCLA because they were my preseason pick, so a loss to Memphis doesn't really affect me. I'd like to see Calipari be proven wrong, but I already got my wish with Belichick and can't really ask for more.
