Yesssss.

With the final pick of whatever round this is, The Excitable Boys are very happy to select this player. He had a dynamic season as a 23 year old, finishing with 100 points (including 21 power play goals). He became an important part of the Flyers in the 1970's as a penalty killer who could produce offensively. He led all scorers in the Flyers 1974 playoff run with a 13-9=22 line in only 17 games. The following year he supplied 20 points in 17 games as the Flyers repeated. He finished with 107 points in 114 playoff games. Through the following years he became a two-way star for the Flyers. He finished his career with 759 points in 846 games, about .9 ppg. He is 42nd all-time in shorthanded goals. Motherfuckers,

Rick Macleish. C.

For my coach, this guy seems like a worthy candidate. 413 wins, 3 Cups, has a trophy named after him. Only person who has his name on the Cup as a player, coach and GM. As a GM, he built a farm system that produced some guys named Howe, Lindsay, Sawchuk, Kelly, Abel and Delvecchio. He finished his GM career under scrutiny for union-busting and a controversial trade of Ted Lindsay to Chicago. Most of the core left after that and he was fired. Motherfuckers,

Jack Adams. Coach/GM.

I hate absolutely everything about that post.

The Holiday Inn commercials are off YouTube, he was my pick this round, and I don't even wanna think about how much work you had to do to find that picture.

It's like the 5th picture of him if you do a Google image search. I wanted to use the picture of his head on a baby's body, but it didn't work.

Just because it was easy doesn't mean I have to like it.

The head on the baby was admittedly funny.

Closing out my forwards, I'll take Tony Amonte, RW.

Scored 30+ goals five times, and 40+ goals another three times.

Five time all star.

A Masshole, and a team can't ever have too many players from the Mighty Massachusetts.

Can I nominate Ryan Smyth for an F'n?

I'm going to win a Stanley Cup... *sniff*... and bring it back to Edmonton... *sob*... because that's where my heart is! *bursts into uncontrollable tears*

Apparently, his bank account is in Denver. Fuck a bunch of Ryan Smyth.

375 goals

492 assists

867 points

Two time all star

Decent enough for a fourth line center.

I had six players on my forwards depth chart for this round (as mentioned, my defencemen isn't going to be picked, so he can wait): Bill Barber, Alex Kovalev, Ryan Smyth, Esa Tikanen, Trevor Linden. You sons of bitches.

Still, I'm happy with my selection, and a little surprised he wasn't going to be a Max or Nskie Diamond-in-the-Rough. Peter McNab.

Yeah, the first page should definitely say Ryan F'n Smyth.

How dare you deface my player by misspelling his name!?

Stefan Persson. That's the name. Not Steffan Perrson. Jerk.

For my backup goalie, I'll go with two-time Vezina winner and five-time Cup winner (despite missing three years in his prime while serving in World War II), and #60 on The Hockey News list of the 100 greatest players:

Turk Broda, G

And now my coach...a great man and a true coaching legend in all levels of hockey, be it collegiate, international or professional:

So I get two picks now??

Geoff Sanderson

postersandersonhelmet.jpg

Scott Mellanby

t1_mellanby_all_01.jpg

I was looking at Mellanby for a while as my last forward.

I had yet another guy I hate pegged as my final defenceman (specifically on the heels of Manson being taken), but my karaoke efforts of Saturday night trumped him. I'll call in the Griffey rule for my pick, but he gives me what my snubee has to offer, minus a resume chock full of knee-on-knees.

He disappeared that summer, in 1951. He was on a fishing trip, in a plane. The last goal he ever scored, in overtime, won the Leafs the cup. They didn't win another, until 1962, the year he was discovered.

I don't like that I have a pair of Leafs as my sixth line, but character, grit, and toughness; it's not all bad.

To fill out my fourth line, I'm going to take a guy with solid two way play and a knack for scoring clutch goals (including a Cup winner):

bobby-nystrom-photo.jpg

Bob Nystrom, RW

235 goals

278 assists

513 points

1248 PIM

Four Stanley Cup championships

All Star, 1977

Bill Barilko disappeared that summer

He was on a fishing trip

The last goal he ever scored

Won the Leafs the cup

They didn't win another until 1962

The year he was discovered

I stole this from a hockey card

I kept tucked up under

My fifty mission cap

I worked it in

I worked it in

To look like that

It's my fifty mission cap

His fifty mission cap

I worked it in

I worked it in

I worked it in

To look like that

And I worked it in

To look like that

I am so sorry. I knew when this draft started that I would end the draft with him. The fact of the matter, he is one of those athletes that you just like even though he wasn't good all the time.

With that being said, the last pick for me is...

G Ronald Frederick Bradley (Ron) Tugnutt

With my last pick, I'll take Glen Wesley, the last player on the Canes to still be around from the Hartford days, until he retired after this season. I'm done!
