Fökai 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Pierce is going to go broke once this anti-flopping rule is installed. About 90% of the league is. I can give you a list of 10-15 guys this rule is designed to curb flopping from. Pierce is on this list.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 I'm not doubting some guys overdo it, I'm just saying most guys do it at one time or another. Hey look at that, the Celtics are going to the Finals. My heart says Celtics, my head says Lakers. For betting purposes we go to with our heads, but since I'm not a gambling man I'll be rooting hard for the Celtics. So the Celtics have one more all time title than the Lakers right? Isn't it like 16 to 15? So the Celtics can either extend or get tied up with the Lakers. MFer 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Awful, simply awful. Boston did what they had to do, but Detroit just played with no heart at all (and once again, we were witness to yet another 'Sheed implosion). Joe D needs to book Flip Saunders on the first flight back to Minnesota. EDIT: I take that back. Some Pistons came to play, but some others just plain went in the tank. Fökai 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Most players do it just because it is legal to do so. The worst thing that'll happen within the current rule is a blocking foul when you're on defense. A best-case scenario is what happened to Rasheed for calling out Pierce on that ridiculous flop. Pierce nearly got a suspension out of Wallace, too. Just the fear of fines and possible suspensions will stop most of the league from flopping.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 I watched this at a restaurant slash bar. It was so lively when I got there after halftime, but just totally DIED on the table minutes into the fourth. Most of the place had shifted their attention to the Tigers/Mariners game before this one was over.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 I still agree with Ripper, just let the play go on, although it is tough on ones that happen in situations when a player is not driving to the hoop. (The Baron Davis flop on Mehmet Okur one they showed on PTI today had to be one of the worst flops I have ever seen)
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 I agree with Ripper that it's ultimately up to the refs that witness a flop up close and personal and call the foul, so if players are going to be fined retroactively, the refs should be too
