I'll get my punter pick over with. Not that I'd use him much, but when I did, he'd pin the opponents down deep.

Shane Lechler.

* 3x Pro Bowl selection (2001, 2004, 2007)

* 5x All-Pro selection (2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007)

I had the same idea...I'm going with possibly the best punter not named Ray Guy:

I have Kahran's pick, but I'm working at home tonight. Take your sweetass time.

Kahran selects:

LB-Joe Fortunato

Five time pro-bowler, big tough I-talian linebacker that played for the Bears back in the 50s and 60s. Had a brief coaching career after his playing days. Not bad.

Lomas Brown, OT

7x All-Pro selection (1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996)

Ricky Watters, RB

5x Pro Bowl selection (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996)

3x All-Pro selection (1994, 1995, 1996)

Super Bowl Champion (XXIX)

With my move of picking up Ricky Watters, I'm moving Jim Brown to his natural position FB.

I don't see Gert T around so I will pick.

There are two fundamental rules in building a winning football team.

1) Run the ball.

2) Stop the run.

With that in mind...

DT Pat Williams

* 2x Pro Bowl selection (2006, 2007)

* 1x All-Pro second team selection (2007)

My opponents might as well abandon running up the middle.

Like I mentioned earlier, my plan involved drafting defensive tackles who were adept ends as well. This man was a force at the line when I was growing up, the bright spot of an otherwise boring (and sometimes terrible) Browns team. I can imagine how bad that defense would've been without Clay Matthews and this man. Being incredibly quick at both positions, the Browns would shift him from nose guard to lead pass-rusher on the same drive without batting an eye. Too bad this guy was overshadowed by the large...umm...shadow of his older brother...

Michael Dean Perry.

6'1", 285 lbs.

6 Pro Bowls ('89-'91, '93, '94 and '96)

4 All-Pro selections (1st team: '89 and '90, 2nd team: '93 and '94)

Career (1988-97) - 61 sacks (2nd in Browns franchise history behind Matthews), 470 tackles (4th all-time, but most all-time by a lineman)

It's now on his wiki, but I remember Gaines Adams being scouted and hearing that he tied MDP's Clemson University school record of 28 sacks.

It's scary how much Gert and I think alike on our picks as I had Gray pegged for this round.

You're not alone there, either.

This man could do a lot of things but he'll be my return specialist.

Ollie Matson, Kick Returner

Chicago Cardinals 1952-1958

Los Angeles Rams 1959-1962

Detroit Lions 1963

Philadelphia Eagles 1964-1966

Hall of Fame - 1972

6-time Pro Bowl Selection

5-time 1st Team All-Pro

9 Return TDs (6 Kicks, 3 Punts)

I'll fill out my offensive line with ESPN pile of shit Mark Schlereth.

* 2x Pro Bowl selection (1991, 1998)

* 3x Super Bowl champion (XXVI, XXXII, XXXIII)

MDP is a great pick, and another great example of how many great players there are in the history of the game. It seems like their are 2-3 picks each round where I say, "Damn, why didn't I think of him."

Sorry, internet went out. Luckily my dude is still there (couldn't find a decent/not huge picture, though).

WR Harold Jackson

5 Pro Bowls

3 All Pros

10,372 Receiving Yards

He averaged 17.9 yards per catch for his career, so I figure he'll be a pretty good deep threat for Staubach.

Awesome. So now I get to take...

Lou_Groza_pateando.jpg

K/OT/DT Lou Groza

Pro Bowls: 9

Honors: NFL 1950s All-Decade Team

A fucking kicking lineman. You'll never see that in today's NFL. Groza wasn't even particularly small, but he'd be more suited to play fullback or something in this day and age. With another 25 pounds or so, though, this guy would take the spot at RG, being about the same size as LG Randy Cross on my team, plus of course he would handle the placekicking duties and provide depth on the defensive line when needed.

I just like versatility, and because it's a fucking lineman kicking. They even named the best college kicker award after him!

Since the one position I'm missing that most people don't have is the punter, I'll take:

fspsgardockicsmallte6.jpg

Chris Gardocki - P

1x Pro Bowl

1x All Pro

1x SB Champ

Never had a punt blocked in his 16 year career

Not much to say here, it's the punter. Hopefully most of his field time will be as a holder for PAT's, but if it's a punting situation, I like Gardocki's quick two-step release to get the ball away and send it a good distance. 0/1177 punts blocked is no fluke, and he played on some bad teams that were punting a lot over the course of his career.

It's now time for the first of my two potentially controversial offensive decisions.

bo-jackson.jpg

Bo Jackson

You want versatile? There's versatile. Only man to ever be named an all-pro in two different sports. Racked up around 3000 yards in a horribly shortened but brilliant career. He's not going to be my primary weapon here, obviously, just like he wasn't in LA behind Marcus Allen, but I'm tailoring this offense to grind clock and opponents, rest my D, and run it, run it, and run it some more. RBBC with interesting and dissimilar all-pros from different eras in Dorsett, Cannon, and Bo. I'm picking him soleley based on that flash of a prime and the fact that he was the most amazing physical specimen in sports at the time. Unofficially once ran a sub 4.2 40.

Well, I'm gonna do something similar here. First, I'm gonna appoint Gale Sayers as my primary return man. Sayers is a player that I want to use in every way possible, plus he made the NFL's 75th Anniversary team as a RB and a KR so why not? He's arguably the greatest kick returner of all time with a record-tying 6 returns for TD's and an obscene 30.6 yards per KR, a record by a full yard. And although he didn't return enough punts to qualify for the record, his 14.5 average is outstanding. To make that change though, I need to pick up another RB so Sayers doesn't get worn out.

p1_bettis2.jpg

Jerome Bettis

6x Pro Bowl selection (1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2004)

3x All-Pro selection (1993, 1996, 1997)

1993 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

1996 NFL Comeback Player of the Year

2001 Walter Payton Man of the Year

Super Bowl XL Champion

One of my all-time favorite players, "The Bus" brings more power to my rushing attack and will wear down oppsing D's. Him and Sayers will create the latest version of Thunder & Lightning. And then there will be spots where Bettis and Motley are in the same backfield together...that's 500 pounds right there. Getting the NFL's 5th leading rusher of all-time is a nice find for me this late in the draft.
