Just John 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2008 Bah, I was hoping to get Strahan, but as soon as I saw he reitred yesterday, I knew no one was going to forget about him. Nice timing, Michael. I'll go back to offense for a round then. Marcus Allen - RB 6x Pro Bowl 5x All Pro 1982 O. RotY 1985 NFL MVP (1759 rushing yds, 110 yds/game, 2314 yds from scrimmage) 1993 Comeback player of the year 2003 Pro Football Hall of Fame SB 18 MVP (191 rushing yards, 1 TD, 2nd longest run in SB history) 12,000+ career rushing yds, 123 rushing TDs 4.1 yd/carry career avg 587 career receptions, 21 receiving TDs With Tom Brady at QB, I need a running back that can handle a pass in addition to running effectively. I knew I should've taken Faulk in the second round, since he was the best dual rush/receiving threat ever, but I'll "settle" for Allen and all his credentials listed above. For the record, don't google search images of "Marcus Allen" with safe search off.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 10, 2008 LB Ted "The Mad Stork" Hendricks Career Highlights and Awards * 8x Pro Bowl selection (1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983) * 11x All-Pro selection (1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983) * NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team * NFL 1970s All-Decade Team One of the few great linebackers left in this draft (I was all set to take Mike Singletary before noticing he had already been taken), Hendricks was a huge if lanky dude (6'7", 220 lbs.), he made a significant impact on every team he played for, instantly upgrading any defense he started playing on. He started with the Colts and had one season with the Packers, before beginning his most well known tenure with the Raiders. He also holds the record for most safeties by an individual player in his career (tied with Doug English of the Lions), proving the dude was a playmaker. Due to being so huge and athletic, he was incredibly difficult to pass against, and is also the career leader of blocked FG's, with 25 over the course of his career. He also played in 215 straight regular season games, making him quite durable as well. Between Hendricks and Woodson playing on my defense, it's a fucking turnover machine. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Manley was a reach with some of the guys still out there. 6 picks to go and there is one guy I desperately want with my next pick, so we'll see what happens.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Manley is a bit of a reach in my opinion, but with the way people have been drafting, I think you really can't assume who will be there 20 some spots from now.

Guest Report post Posted June 11, 2008 I'm pretty comfortable with this selection, especially after reading some things his peers said about him. Here's one I pulled off of wikipedia... "My sophomore year, we were in Tallahassee and I ran a reverse very early in the game, and I remember being nailed by Jack Youngblood. I remember watching the ball being pitched to me and thinking, when the ball was about halfway, that it was kind of race to see whether he was going to get to the ball first or me. He was foaming at the mouth. I still have nightmares from the hit he gave me." Florida State WR Barry Smith Obviously, I'm picking Jack Youngblood to anchor my defensive line. He played through the 79-80 playoffs with a broken fibula. A BROKEN FUCKING FIBULA. Then a few years later, with a ruptured disk in his back. A real man's man. * 7x Pro Bowl selection (1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979) * 9x All-Pro selection (1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1984) * 9x All-NFC (1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1984) * 1975 NFL Defensive Lineman of the Year * 1975 NFC Defensive Player of the Year * 1976 NFC Defensive Player of the Year * 3x Rams MVP (1975, 1976, 1979) * NFL 1970s All-Decade Team * 1970 All-American * St. Louis Rams Ring of Fame * St. Louis Rams #85 retired * Gator Football Ring of Honor * 201 Consecutive Games Played

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 To continue my offensive focus, I needed a receiver to line up opposite Don Hutson, for Dan Marino to look for. Who better than maybe the #2 receiver in Rice's era? With that said- Steve Largent, WR 3 time All Pro 7 time Pro Bowler Caught a pass in 177 straight games 50+ receptions each season for 10 years
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Wonderfully underrated. Swell pick. "Underrated? The guy's a pro-bowler seven times over." Let me explain that statement: Does it occur to anyone else that WR isn't very often a historically compared position? With QBs, there's always comparisons and all heaps of discussion about who's the best ever. With WR, it's Rice and a bunch of other guys. No one ever thinks "Boy, this guy reminds me a lot of Steve Largent!" Either way, on the opposite side of Hutson, that's the best tandem yet that will get smothered and picked apart by my secondary. Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Hey, sometimes you need yourself some motherfuckers like Manley. Motherfuckers who do a lot of coke. Plus. PICK TIME LIMIT IS 8 HOURS. IF YOU'VE BEEN WAITING 8 HOURS, AND THE GUY BEFORE YOU HASN'T PICKED, MAKE YOUR PICK If you think you'll be gone for your pick, PM it to me, or to someone else in the draft, or to someone else entirely. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2008 I think he means the limit. If he has, I'd give him one more round just to give him a shot, but he shouldn't be missing this many rounds.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2008 If I don't see him around in 10 minutes, I'm making my pick. I think this is the first round that he's missed the limit on though.

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2008 Ok. My turn. It is often said that most important position on a team is the left tackle position, and after losing out on Jack Youngblood I'm going after a need here. He's starting to slow down a bit with age, but at his peak he was arguably the best player in the NFL and perhaps the biggest part of Seattle's success this decade, including a record setting season by Shaun Alexander in 2005. LT Walter Jones Career highlights and awards * 8x Pro Bowl selection (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) * 7x All-Pro selection (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) * Tuesday Morning Quarterback Non-QB Non-RB NFL MVP Award (2005) I have to go to bed now since I'm getting up at 6, so I will make my next pick tomorrow morning if it is my turn. Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2008 With my 4th Round selection, Gert's Team selects: Jackie Slater/RT/Rams of Multiple Cities 7 time All-Pro 75th Anniversary Team 20 year Vet Pretty much the greatest RT in NFL history. While RT is not as sexy as LT, the top ones are gone, so I may as well get the best on the other side.
