Nighthawk Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 The Venture Bros. Well, I've now got all three shows I recently said were in contention for my favorite show ever. Good luck, and this draft is shaping up well for me.
Darthtiki Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 The Muppet Show Who doesn't love the muppets. Also, the humor was really geared more for older audiences.
C Dubya 04 Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I have never seen nor heard of the Venture Brothers.
Canadian Brandon Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 WWE Raw So yeah...I wasn't sure if stuff like this was eligiable but since stuff like SNL and The Daily Show were picked, why not this? Not much needs to be said about Raw. A good 2 hours of entertainment every week and some classic moments in television history. Sorry about missing the pick by the way. I've been out all day.
Nighthawk Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I have never seen nor heard of the Venture Brothers. There's a topic for it right here on this very board. Although the actual title should be Venture Bros.. Let me go correct that...
the pinjockey Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Undeclared Hilarious. Nails the college experience. And if I am going to be on a desert island, a little reminder of the most fun years of my life wouldn't be bad.
Jebus Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 WCW Monday Nitro Since Raw was picked, no sense in saving this one for later. Need my wrestling fix on my island.
treble Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Spaced I can't claim to be the biggest fan of this show, and I'm sure I don't get half of the pop-culture references they threw in there, but it always makes me laugh. Plus, it had this:
CanadianChris Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Well, if no one else is going to take it, I will: M*A*S*H I'm one of the apparent few who liked both the Trapper John/Col. Blake era and the B.J./Col. Potter era. Entertaining at worst, and howlingly funny at its very best.
godthedog Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 i'm glad i'm not also in this draft, but if i were playing, i would've picked these by now: 1. homicide 2. the office (UK) 3. batman: the animated series 4. sifl and olly
Craig Th Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Bones by Hart Hanson I love everything about this show. Well, almost everything. Booth heals too quickly.
Craig Th Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Rescue Me by Dennis Leary and Peter Tolan The show can get a little soapy sometimes, but other than that, it's awesome. Best FX show behind the Shield.
Craig Th Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Another week until I can pick again. Nice.
CanadianChris Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Quantum Leap Honestly, there were half a dozen shows I was going back and forth between. This one was my favourite show in high school and university, though. I still watch it quite often on DVD.
Youth N Asia Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I thought Quantum Leap would be a first rounder. And Rescue Me was high on my list
treble Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 The Office (UK) I still need to finish watching this, so why not do it on a desert island with nothing else to do?
Jebus Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 The O.C. I only saw the first season and half of season two. Season 1 was good enough for me to want this series on my island...and there will be no one there to question my manliness
jwest27 Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 4. sifl and olly Oh my gosh. I loved that show. I'm hitting up YouTube, stat.
Craig Th Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 The O.C. I only saw the first season and half of season two. Season 1 was good enough for me to want this series on my island...and there will be no one there to question my manliness Yeah, it SUCKS after that. Taylor Townsend was the only good thing at the end.
the pinjockey Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I love everything about this show. Well, almost everything. Booth heals too quickly. I almost took that when I took Undeclared, as I thought that might be the show you were talking about before. Since gtd brought it up, I don't know if it will make it back to me in round 6 so let's go Batman: TAS
Craig Th Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 No, I am talking about something else. And I was going to pick Undeclared, so we are even. I'm actually watching it right now.
Youth N Asia Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Darthtiki has missed his pick...again Milky's up
Nighthawk Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Beavis and Butthead Hail to the kings, baby. When King of the Hill and Daria went, the writing was on the wall. Sure, it was crude, sophmoric and eratic, but Christ was it funny. I could watch these all day. Plus you get the music videos to boot, which are worth watching on their own.
Jebus Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 There it is. On my last pick, I was contemplating between The O.C. and B&B. I must really like that first season of The O.C. Back to the drawing board...
Canadian Brandon Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Rocko's Modern Life I love this show. The humor is definitely aimed for older audiences and there are plenty of subtle dirty jokes. A very funny cartoon.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Well! If wrestling counts (I wasn't sure) then, I should make my Token Wrestling Pick sooner rather than later. Raw's gone, Nitro's gone, so I guess logically that means that I should go for... ECW Hardcore TV ECW has always remained this sort of curiosity to me. It wasn't exactly before my time (I started watching wrestling in 1999), but I wasn't truly aware of its existence other than being "that one hardcore promotion" until after its death, and I've always enjoyed what I've seen quite a bit (not to mention the WWE DVD release on it, which I found to be fantastic and engaging). So, with seven years' worth of material to look into with that program and all the time in the world to look into it, I figure this would be as good an opportunity as any.
Darthtiki Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 It would be nice if people PM me. Enough with the bitching, here's my pick: Feasting on Asphalt/Waves I am a huge Alton Brown fan and I think this summer series in its 3rd season provides an amazing adventure. This season, they trade in the bike for a boat and hit the Caribbean.
Youth N Asia Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 I don't think anyone's PMing anyone. If your on the board you're bound to check your drafts
Nighthawk Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I always PM the next person. I don't always get pmed, but sometimes I do.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I try to do it myself, though sometimes I forget (I'd actually forgotten about it entirely until Canadian Brandon PMed me the round before last).
