cr7 Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Probably start him over Big Gay Sol, couldn't be arsed to do a proper write up these days. Gary Pallister
Guest Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 First defender I'll grab for my bench is Scouse legend, Jamie Carragher.
TheFranchise Posted July 23, 2008 Author Report Posted July 23, 2008 MFerXtreme87 is up, Gert T has a make-up pick.
Gert T Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Sorry I forgot to come back on here and make my pick last night. With my pick, I select: friedel.bmp Brad Friedel/GK
TheFranchise Posted July 23, 2008 Author Report Posted July 23, 2008 The big board is updated, Mystery Eskimo is available to pick.
Mystery Eskimo Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Paul McGrath An extremely classy centreback for Man U, Aston Villa & Ireland. Fast, strong & tough in the tackle. Could perhaps have been even better if not for a battle with the bottle.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Chris Waddle adds another guy to the North-East tally, so does Steve Bruce - hmm, for a 'crappy' are up North that has pigeons, wippets, coal mines and all the other stereotypes, we do produce a lot of 'classy' footballers to be fair.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 I'll pick a stadium. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Former home of the LA Galaxy and one of the venues in World Cup qualifiers in 1994.
TheFranchise Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 I'm DQ'ing RonL21 too. Chriswok, you're up.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 OK, I can't resist, I'm going to take one of Ron's dropped draft picks... maybe two. Here's a lowdown of my bench so far: FWD: Kevin Keegan MID: Deco I'm going to add: Kaka' Only in name... He was the recipient of both the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2007, and was named in the 2008 Time 100. Not even Jonathon Pearce's shitty commentary can spoil this video. and to 'sow' up the Defense or maybe score a 25 yard chip... Phillip Albert Porno 'tasche Geordie Folk Legend Fun fact: Albert used to play up front before being turned into a defender, now owns a sausage factory in Belgium and no longer owns his Porno 'tasche. Was probably more comfortable attacking then he was defending, but that's not to say he was bad. Daglish sold him, and probably at the right time, as Albert's legs had gone by that point and was too slow for the evolving pace of the Premiership. Some of Albert's goals... sorry they don't have a highlight reel for him. There's no less then 8 players on offer in this draft over all in the first video being shown. Alan Shearer Peter Beardsley David Ginola Philip Albert David Beckham Peter Schmichael Dennis Irwin Gary Palister and probably more...
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 I'll draft a coach. I'll pick Bruce Arena.
TheFranchise Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 Phillipe Albert has been drafted!
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Phillipe Albert has been drafted! Your Jealousy consumes me
TheFranchise Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 He was the perfect pick to play behind Pele.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 haha Yeah, he's out of place in the grand scheme of things along side 'some' of the draft picks, but he has a close place in the hearts of every Newcastle fan over 20. He really did have some silky touches on the ball, and I don't think anyone will ever forget 'that' goal against Man U.
Mystery Eskimo Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 For my back up keeper, I'll take Spurs & Northern Ireland legend Pat Jennings.
TheFranchise Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 MFerXtreme87 has 4 hours to pick.. then it's Gert T to pick.
MFer Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Sepp Maier Not a bad guy to have as a backup goalie.
Guest Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Alfredo di Stefano went back into the player pool, so I'm definitely taking him.
TheFranchise Posted July 26, 2008 Author Report Posted July 26, 2008 I should have DQ'd him several rounds later, but not being selfish, I didn't I'll update the big board later as i'm off out now.
cr7 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij Otherwise known as Ruud van Nistelrooy
TheFranchise Posted July 26, 2008 Author Report Posted July 26, 2008 That's actually a great, great pick.
TheFranchise Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 Deancoles has a make up pick. I'll take the recently-released Ronaldinho
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij Otherwise known as Ruud van Nistelrooy Aye, great striker, still can't understand why Man U released him, they STILL seem to trying to find someone to replace him.
cr7 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Aye, great striker, still can't understand why Man U released him, they STILL seem to trying to find someone to replace him. When Ferguson says you're done with the club, he certainly seems to mean it. Something just seems off about taking players from DQ'ed posters, seeing as how they deserved to be taken when they were.
TheFranchise Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 Yeah, but you cant have an all time draft without players of Ronaldinho's stature. I dont see why players shouldn't go back into the pool, especially since it wasn't done at a specific time to benefit any one person.

Stubborn Scottish mad man! Ruud is quality though, I was hoping he'd come to Newcastle when he left Man U, but can't blame him for going to Real.
