Guest Jesus Freaks on Coke Report post Posted June 18, 2008 We should spice up this thread a little by trying to predict each other's favorite Beatles songs. Then we can report on whether or not we were correctly guessed. Make a chain or something. luke-o is a goofy-looking guy who likes a lot of crappy, but very quirkily British, artists. He's into horror movies, and probably irritates a lot of people with whom he surrounds himself. He's also a bit of a puzzling chap, so after all of that, his favorite Beatles song being "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" would just make way too much sense. Luke-o's favorite Beatles song is "What Goes On."
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 My favorite Beatles song is a George Harrison tune... can you guess which one?

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 I'm going to make a wild guess with "Piggies"
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Shoot. I got my titles mixed up. I'm thinking of Within You Without You.
Guest Jesus Freaks on Coke Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Trick question. You don't like the Beatles. King Kamala Classic likes things simple and piano-oriented. His favorite song is "Sexy Sadie." Amnesia Glasscock relishes the opportunity to really rock out and play air guitar in his bedroom. His favorite: "Helter Skelter."
MrRant 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Right now it's "Penny Lane" FTW.

Copper Feel 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Orchestral flourishes appeal to The Czech Republic, as he is well versed in classical music itself. He also has a strong pro-McCartney bias. His favourite song by The Beatles is "Eleanor Rigby".
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Czech, had I not shown my hand, what song would you have guessed?
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Trick question. You don't like the Beatles. You know very well I do. The correct answer was "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Copper Feel 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Amnesia Glasscock relishes the opportunity to really rock out and play air guitar in his bedroom. His favorite: "Helter Skelter." Not too far off, "Fixing a Hole" is my favourite. I would have predicted "I am the Walrus" as being Milky's favourite Beatles song.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Trick question. You don't like the Beatles. King Kamala Classic likes things simple and piano-oriented. His favorite song is "Sexy Sadie." I'm indifferent towards that one. But your approach isn't terribly far off. My favorite is "For No One" I could have sworn I heard Milky say his favorite Beatles song was "Fool On The Hill" but maybe I was confusing that with him saying that was the song that describes him the best. Guest Jesus Freaks on Coke Report post Posted June 18, 2008 alkeiper is a guy who appreciates solid craftsmanship, and that holds true for songwriting just as much as, say, a desk, or breast implants in a favorite porn star. His favorite song can't be some gimmicky George Harrison sitar shit, or John Lennon dicking around with tape loops. Nothing too fast, too slow, too short, or too long, just a good solid Beatles tune that can safely be anyone's favorite. "Let It Be." I don't like "Sexy Sadie" either, and I do like "For No One" a lot. We could be twins.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 Your second statement was correct, Kamala, but I was speaking somewhat hyperbolically... but yes, while "Fool On the Hill" would likely be a good theme song for me, it's not even my favorite song on MMT. That would be "Strawberry Fields Forever".

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 I want this to be a running thread, Czech guesses TSM regulars' favorite *insert legendary rock band* song. I may be the only who thinks this but this is the best thread to hit The Music Folder in weeks if not months. If anything, it sounds like it'll do better than my big planned thread for tonight, "Great Moments in Synthesizer History." Guest Jesus Freaks on Coke Report post Posted June 18, 2008 How could you forget "Cars"!? I don't like that song. "The Final Countdown" would be on there (all of it!), as well as the snippet of Paul Lansky's seminal composition "Mild und Liese" which ultimately gave birth to Radiohead's "Idioteque." King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 I didn't take that into consideration. I figured you didn't like Prince, otherwise I would have listed "1999"
