USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 But you said they'd drop 3/4 spots, meaning around #5. They won't. edit: But that's a moot point. They need that touchdown to even think about where they're ranked in the top 5.
Kinetic Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Let's cross that bridge when we come to it. Pretty entertaining game here, huh?
Bored Posted September 26, 2008 Author Report Posted September 26, 2008 I'm going to make a bold prediction that if USC does lose, those wacky pollsters will drop them below Ohio State.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I'm going to make a bold prediction that if USC does lose, those wacky pollsters will drop them below Ohio State. Is that really bold? Oregon State IS worse than USC. So a loss to USC looks better than a loss to Oregon State.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I'm going to make a bold prediction that if USC does lose, those wacky pollsters will drop them below Ohio State. That's a bold one, considering Ohio State is around #12-15 right now.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 If Oregon State runs for about 3 1st downs, this one is over.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Rey Maualuga just went down... not what USC wants to see when Rogers is running straight up the middle all night.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 USC has to go 97 yards for the TD to either go to OT or win it all. 1 TO left, around 3:15 left.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Wow... That's pretty much game for OSU. They can put it in the end zone from 2 yards out and finish this one off.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Free point Thursday is a lie!
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Free point Thursday is a lie! It's not Bored's fault that USC can't beat the worst teams in their own league.
Bored Posted September 26, 2008 Author Report Posted September 26, 2008 Free point Thursday is a lie! Oh well it's better than Who Gives a Shit? Friday.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 USC gets back in there, but they still have to recover the onside kick to have a chance. Even if they do that, they need to go probably 50 yards in less than 1:19 with only one time out.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 LSU's Bluegrass Miracle gets a mention by ESPN just as OSU recovers the ball. NOW that's game.
naiwf Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Ohio State looks even worse right now.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Ohio State looks even worse right now. Wait until they play Michigan... As bad as Michigan has sucked so far this year, I'll guess they can put it all together to beat an offensively impotent Buckeye team. (I'm assuming that Terrell Pryor's offensive spurt last week was a fluke.)
naiwf Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Win or lose by USC, I think either Oklahoma, with a win over ranked TCU this week, or Georgia, with a win over Top 10 Alabama this week, will be #1 next week. Considering that they shouldn't have dropped to #3 anyway Georgia has to be #1 if they beat the # 8 or # 10 team depending on the poll. Now if Alabama wins on the road, I would think they would end up at # 2 or very close to it since that would be the most impressive win that any of the top ranked teams would have.
Star Ocean 3 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 If the Beavers destroying the Trojans isn't a omen telling you not to have sex tonight, I don't know what is.
Kinetic Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Alabama would have a legitimate argument for #1 if they beat Georgia. I think it's entirely possible that it'll happen, too. People around here are really nervous with how good Bama's looked and with the Dawgs coming off of a much longer road trip than they're accustomed to.

Now if Alabama wins on the road, I would think they would end up at # 2 or very close to it since that would be the most impressive win that any of the top ranked teams would have. I can see that happening, as #3 Georgia beating #8 Alabama would be more impressive than #2 Oklahoma beating #20, give or take, TCU. That's provided that it's not a one-sided Alabama game that Georgia barely wins, like some prior USC escapes like the 2007 game against Washington.

People around here are really nervous with how good Bama's looked and with the Dawgs coming off of a much longer road trip than they're accustomed to. I don't see Bama jumping to #1 with a win over Georgia, even if it's an ass-kicking like the one they gave to Clemson, just because teams don't tend to jump that quickly in the polls. They can jump as high as about #4 or #5, IMHO, provided that no Top 7 teams but Georgia and USC lose this week. (This assumes Oklahoma beats TCU, LSU beats MS State, Texas beats Arkansas, etc.)
AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 They should at least jump over Texas who hasn't beaten anybody yet.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 They should at least jump over Texas who hasn't beaten anybody yet. No argument. Texas doesn't crack the Top 5 unless they beat Oklahoma in 2 weeks.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I believe you are all forgetting a very good Florida team.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I believe you are all forgetting a very good Florida team. I can't remember who Florida is playing this week, which is why I didn't mention them. (Auburn perhaps?)
AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Ole Miss, actually. Auburn gets the University of Pussies a.k.a. Tennessee this week.
teke184 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Ole Miss, actually. Auburn gets the University of Pussies a.k.a. Tennessee this week. Ole Miss will have an offense to contend with Florida, but probably not the defense to do so. Auburn's going to help Fat Phil back his bags to leave Knoxville after this season.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Guess that's what I get for getting overconfident in USC. If a two loss team can win the national title, I guess there's still hope for USC this year, but it's getting bleaker now.
