That's half of it. You can also draft GOOD things for other people in hopes of getting GOOD things in return. Also, let's be literal in the island scenario. You have a fresh water spring and a coconut tree. Clams to dig up. Otherwise, let's assume you are in your underwear.

 

Here's the same example, fleshed out, with dumb items:

 

Draft Order

 

1. Czech

2. Agent

3. Smues

 

Czech drafts "ZIPLOC BAGS" I now have ZIPLOC BAGS on my island. Now it's my turn. I think Smues is a fag, so I draft "FREDDIE MERCURY." Smues now has FREDDIE MERCURY on his island. Now it's Smues' turn. He's all "No way, Queen Rules! I draft 'DEEP DISH PIZZA'." Since it's serpentine order, I now have DEEP DISH PIZZA on my island.

 

The thing you draft goes to the island of the next person in the draft order.

 

Make sense now? By drafting items to the next person's island, you then Eliminate the possibility of it being on yours.
