Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 This is an historic drought. No one's scored a point in over four months. I've always wondered, why is it "an historic" rather than "a historic"?
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 It's not Matt, it's just the accent some people say it with. Say 'This is certainly a historic day' out loud and it doesn't sound wrong. It's also emphasied without the H a lot.. It all comes down to accents. If you come to london and you wanted to spend the night at a hotel.. All of a sudden, it becomes an 'otel.
