MFer Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I'm not sure if the '08 Lions are the worst team ever, but I feel pretty confident in saying that they have the worst defense ever. In regards the COTY, Harbaugh should get a mention as well. I don't think he will (or should) win it, but he doesn't seem to get as much recognition with Sparano, Smith, and others doing great coaching jobs.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 What's the name of the Falcons head coach? Mike Smith. And, yeah, I'd argue that he deserves COTY. Another depressing Buccaneers note: Everything they needed to have happen this weekend happened, except for them winning. Dallas lost. Philadelphia lost. Had Tampa won, they'd be in the playoffs. I am sure if they win next week and Dallas loses you will be on cloud nine. I dont want to hear that you dont know if you want to see them in the playoffs bs. Anything is possible, especially if you are going to be playing the Bears, Vikings or Cardinals in the first round.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Is it true that if Chicago wins the last 2 games and Tampa wins next week, Chicago gets the North and Tampa gets the last wild card slot over Dallas? So Dallas doesn't have control over their own destiny.
Kahran Ramsus Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 The Lions have a way to go for the worst team ever. The Bucs once lost 26 games in a row.
Guest Czecherbear Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 No, they have to lose one more game and then they're the worst team ever, the end.
Kahran Ramsus Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 The Bucs went an entire season without winning once, and then went all the way to the second to last week the next season without winning as well (getting Hank Stram fired in the process). I view that as worse than what the Lions are doing this year. If the Lions go 0-16 and then get into November without a win next year, then we can start talking.
Guest Czecherbear Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 We've been talking about the worst single season ever, which would be the 2008 Lions pending a loss at Lambeau. They will have zero wins and sixteen losses, the worst record in the history of the league. Records for last year and next year aren't germane. Man, some of you football people, between best ever, worst ever, and all things NCAA, I'm waiting for you to tell me that two apples are more than three apples. "What if the two apples add up to more mass than the three? Red apples taste better than green ones. You have to take these things into account."

So Dallas doesn't have control over their own destiny. Chicago would also need Minnesota to lose to NY next week as well, because if Chicago and Minnesota tie I believe the Vikings have the tie-breaker

I dont want to hear that you dont know if you want to see them in the playoffs bs. Anything is possible, especially if you are going to be playing the Bears, Vikings or Cardinals in the first round. You right, you right. But given that a one-and-done playoff appearance is about as much as we can hope for this year, I'm not sure that a wild card berth is a good thing for this team long-term because it buys Gruden more time in Tampa. The Glazers fired Tony Dungy for doing the same annual December disappearing act, and he's a saint. How does Gruden keep getting away with this shit?

Because he won a Superbowl for a franchise that was a joke for 30-40 until they had Dungy in the late 90's.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I just realized that there is a small chance that the Falcons can finish as the #2 in the NFC. They have to win next week and have Carolina lose the next two games.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Holy Shit!!!! Hixon can actually catch a football!
garfieldsnose Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Must be why he plays for an NFL team!
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Giants have the swiss cheese Matador defense today.
naiwf Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 This Giants "defense" is fucking pathetic.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 This Giants "defense" is fucking pathetic. Didn't you know its all because of Plaxico?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 This Giants "defense" is fucking pathetic. Didn't you know its all because of Plaxico? He shot all them in their legs too?
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 This Giants "defense" is fucking pathetic. Didn't you know its all because of Plaxico? He shot all them in their legs too? More like in the Balls. The Giants offense is actually moving the chain down the field and converting third downs. Jacobs rushes for a touchdown and the Giants take a 10-7 lead.
cd213 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 BJ is a BEAST. He was missed more than Plaxico is.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 The swiss cheese offense has taken the field yet again. Injury to Stewart.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 TD Panthers to make it a 14-10 game.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Giants coaching is outsmarting themselves by having Hedgecock rush on third down and being stopped inches from a first down. Now they can trust the swiss cheese defense to make it a stop and not a 21-10 game going into half time.
cd213 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Fucking pathetic. I couldn't have said it better myself.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Great it's going to be 21-10 now because the Giants defense sucks and they go for it on 3rd down with Hedgecock instead of one of their more established running backs. Why not go for it on 4th and inches with Jacobs or a QB sneak. Gilbride is a fucking moron. 21-10. Giants should just go for it on 4th down every single time with the way this defense is playing.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Who didn't see that coming!
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 It's going to be 28-10 going into halftime. Great job Giants!
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Hell Frooze over. The Giants defense actually had a stop.
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Manning just threw a floater that should have been picked off. 3rd down for the Giants now. Manning just threw another ball that should have been picked.
garfieldsnose Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 How is this any different from Matt Young posting in the hockey thread? Knock off the PBP, YKRG.
