What films are you anticipated for in 2009?

Recommended Posts

+ The Watchmen (if the lawsuit between WB and FOX is resolved by then)

+ Public Enemies (Depp and Bale - what more can you ask for?)

+ The Wrestler (Not released here until Jan of next year)

+ Milk (See The Wrestler)

+ X-Men Origins: Wolverine - (only because Deadpool will be in it)

+ Transformers: Rise of the Fallen (But please...dear God...no Killer Mountain Dew robot)

+ Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr...thats all I can say)

+ Terminator: Salvation (Its Bale and the Terminator franchise (which is 2/3 for me) so I guess it will get my $)

Those are the only movies I can think of at the top of my head that I want to see at the moment.

What movie are you anticipating for 2009?

Public Enemies (Depp/Bale. Enough said)

Watchmen (Probably the best graphic novel ever written. Too curious to not check it out)

Terminator Salvation (Bale and the Terminator war. Again, too interested.)

Wolverine (Was sketchy at first but the trailer does look nice)

Ashecliffe (New Scorsese picture)

The Taking of Pelham 123 (I'm actually interested in Travolta in the villain role)

Funny People (Third Apatow flick)

New York, I Love You (Ensamble cast and directors)

I Love You, Man (Paul Rudd and Jason Siegal. Enough said)

Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen going around the world being stupid. How can you NOT want this?)

The Year One (Harold Ramis is directing but the draw for me is MICHAEL CERA!)

The Wrestler (who knows when its opening here..probably never)

Friday the 13th

Monsters vs Aliens

Crank 2

S. Darko (only because I must hate myself or something)

Public Enemies (only way you're getting Christian Bale running after Johnny Depp in a movie)

2012

Inglourious Basterds

there are probably a few more but anyway..

The Wrestler

Milk

Watchmen (Changed ending or not, they better not fuck this up)

Friday the 13th

Header (comes to DVD in March)

My Bloody Valentine 3D (good or bad, I wanna see a gory slasher flick in 3D.)

Final Destination 4 (Will most likely suck, but it's also in 3D)

The Crazies (remake of an old Romero movie. i'm interested in seeing what they'll do with it)

Jennifer's Body (Sadly, it's written by Diablo cody. On the plus side, the premise is too awesome to pass up)

Where the Wild Things Are

Zombieland

Transformers: Rise of the Fallen (iffy)

Inglourious Basterds

Transformers: Rise of the Fallen - for as many logic errors as the first film had, it was a hell of a ride. I'm psyched!

Friday the 13th

My Bloody Valentine 3d - I own the original on DVD. It's a classic in it's own right. I'm really excited for the remake.

Terminator Salvation

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Watchmen

Saw VI - Seen the others, why not this one too.

GI Joe

I'll end up seeing Terminator and Underworld and Wolverine, but off the top of my head I'm not aware of any movies I'm interested in that much. Oh wait, Angels and Demons comes out in 2009 right? Ok that's 1. The book rocked.

Definite

Crank 2

Wolverine

Watchmen

The Wrestler

Underworld 3 (saw the first two, gotta wrap it up I guess..though no Kate makes me sad)

A Christmas Carol

Saw VI (cause I'm fricking retarded)

The Wolfman

Sherlock Holmes

Maybe

Angels and Demons (the return of Mulletman!)

Terminator: Salvation (just to see what else they frickin change!)

Harry Potter

Madea goes to Jail (I'm actually AWARE a Tyler Perry movie is being released for once)

Fast and Furious

Night at the Museum 2 (first one was actually decent)

Public Enemies

Transformers 2

Too hilarious for me to take seriously

Star Trek

Dragonball

GI JOE (other than Quaid and Snake Eyes, the rest looks hilariously bad)

For now, that's it of the films I'm aware of. Honestly that will probably end up being the complete list with movies being sliced away as I go.

So I finally saw a trailer for the Underworld movie and it's apparantly a prequel? Scratch that from my 'probably will see' list.

Wolverine (trailer looked awesome)

Watchmen (never read the graphic novel, but the story sounds cool, and the hype has gotten to me)

Wolfman (After that abomination of a movie known as Van Helsing came out, hopefully Universal makes a tasteful remake, love the casting for this too)

There are a bunch of other movies coming out that I will see, but I'm not really anticipating them, like G.I. Joe, Transformers 2, Crank 2, Sherlock Holmes, Terminator Salvation, and Public Enemies.

Watchmen

Wolverine (I've got my reservations but I'm sure I'll love the fuck out of it)

The Wrestler

I didn't like Transformers, but I've little doubt that the sequel will kick all kinds of ass. And I'm sure T4 will lick the dirty sweat of an old man's balls but I'll probably pay to see it. Probably because I'm a sucker or something.

What's with the absence of Trek love?

It AT LEAST looks fun, and has the bonus of already pissing the hardcore trek nerds off.

I tried my best to get into Star Trek, but I never could.

I'm kind of a Trek nerd who doesn't care for the Original series + hates prequels so there's really no interest for me in the new movie.
