Your Paragon of Virtue Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 No, although Lord knows I`ve tried. Agent, are you open to other people giving you questions for this or are you just going to do them all yourself?
Art Sandusky Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 I can do the O whistle like a motherfucker, with loads'a range and volume. I can do it sort of through my teeth, but they're seperated when I do it so I'm not sure if it counts the same. Never figured out how to do it with my fingers in my mouth. My father does what I call the rabbit whistle where you can barely see his eye teeth and it's loud as SHIT.
Maztinho Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 My great-uncle does the bearly smiling whistle too. They live in a small farming community just north of Logan, Utah, you can no joke hear him two miles away.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 I can whistle very well. Teeth and O-lip. Czech noted an interesting cultural tendency with his "mexican whistle" comment. I work with many mexicans, and that's how they communicate over distances beyond normal vocal volume. Whistling and that "Ay-yi-yi-yi" whooping laugh thing like in chicano music. Burmese people clap their hands to get each other's attention.

The Metal Maniac Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Yeah but WHY can't you? Do your lips lack the ability to move a certain way? Do your breathing patterns prevent the proper air flow? I don't get it. Can't speak for everyone of course, but for me, my inability to whistle comes from, I think, my lack of ability to properly control the air flowing out my mouth. I've tried to whistle a lot, because I'd love to be able to whistle, but I've never managed to produce that high, shrill sound. I can make a sound like a deflating tire, that's about it. Why can't I do that? I dunno. I doubt it's physical; I probably just don't have the proper understanding of it in my mind, maybe?
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 What helped me develop a whistle was to just make sure your lips aren't dry.
