The better half of the Mamalukes, Stamboli was another guy who deserved better than he got. I’m not saying he should have got a major push, but when a guy can military press Rikishi you should be able to find something for him to do.

 

Jimmy Yang/Akio

 

Akio was another victim of incompetent and backwards booking from WWE. A talented cruiserweight, Akio can be a great cornerstone of any seriously pushed cruiserweight division.

 

Pearl Jam

 

Inoffensive, if nothing else.

 

NewsRadio

 

I’ve only seen the first three seasons of Newsradio, but I’m still a big fan of the show. I think the cast really jelled together very well, and it made for the kind of quality ensemble cast that you don’t see a lot of in comedy.

Dr V is a quality poster, the likes of which we needs more of. Not only does he make intelligent and well thought out posts, but as he himself as said, if he doesn’t know enough about a debate to get involved then he stays out. More people on TSM should follow that lead.

Plus, the WWE *LOVES* to do comedy in the midcard, and if nothing else, Kanyon proved he could be a great comedy guy. Cool moves, charisma, could talk, could do comedy, and had a recognized catchphrase - the perfect WWF midcarder!

Life got busy. I'll definitely get the rest of Newsradio when it gets released on DVD, even though there is some post-season 3 stuff that I don't see myself liking a lot. Yes, I got the season 1 and 2 DVD set. I've watched every episode a few times each, and the commentary is great. Dave Foley really is great to listen to as well as watch.

Yeah, it's called "season 5". Although, "Bill Moves On" is a very moving episode.

I haven't seen seen much from All Japan from the last couple of years, so I couldn't comment on their Japan work. However, I am interested in seeing the Buchanan vs. Palumbo 30:00 draw from this years Champion Carnival.

You’re a decent poster at TSM. You add a decent quality of post, and you’re probably one of the better utility posters on this board.

Season 4 of NewsRadio is the greatest season of any sitcom ever.

 

Some amazing episodes, including the Public Domain, which is probably the greatest 22 minutes in NewsRadio history.

TC knows his wrestling history, and he understands wrestling itself pretty well, so that makes him a quality poster. He doesn't seem to post here anymore, which is a shame, as TSM needs more quality posters.

Michrome is the ROH of posters; hard working, a quality product, but probably wouldn't work that well when translated to the WWE stage due to the lack of fizz and bang.

 

Ghandi

 

Only Ghandi could carry off wearing a diaper as an adult and still look cool.

Shelley is a good worker, and he definitely deserves a good run in TNA. He probably isn't at that top level, but he should get a run with the tag titles if he has the right tag team partner.

Charismatic and a hard worker in Mid-South, Duggan stopped trying once he left Mid-South, and we got subjugated to one of the worst wrestlers ever. Sticking your tongue out sideways and looking like a cross-eyed inbred moron to get a reaction doesn’t make you a good worker Jim.

 

John Tenta

 

Tenta tried hard, I’ll say that much. However, he still wasn’t that hot in the ring. For all of the monster aura the WWF tried to give him during his run with Hogan, he just lacked that necessary something for it to really click. It’s sad that his health is deteriorating, and I wish him well on that front, but Tenta still sucked.

 

Shark Boy

 

Opening match comedy gimmick with the talent to match, Shark Boy is funny in skits, but he does nothing for me in the ring outside of the occasional five minute comedy match.

 

Konnan

 

Not the best of in-ring workers, Konnan has a ton of charisma. He’s a great talker though, and he’s good enough that he can cover for his in-ring deficiencies. I’m not that hot on his matches, but I could listen to him talk all day, especially when he’s commentating on a horrible match.

Vince has a reputation for being a genius. Why? He’s a tremendous wrestling promoter, but whenever he has tried anything outside of wrestling he has fallen flat on his track marked ass. That is not a genius. Vince McMahon succeeded because of a lot of guts and a lot of luck. Vince’s genius, and this is the only smart thing that Vince Russo of all people has ever said, is that he surrounded himself with smart people. A genius also wouldn’t allow himself to be blinded by nepotism, and would see through the egotistical manipulations of his family.

 

Shane McMahon

 

Shane, you are not and you never will be one of the guys, and you absolutely never will be accepted by the locker room. For the sake of the marketability and credibility of the talent, and because I think you suck, I hope you never wrestle again.

 

Linda McMahon

 

Linda seems like a nice person most of the time, though the investor’s conference calls show she can still be a bit of bitch if cornered on an issue she knows she and the company are at fault at. Linda is probably the nicest of the McMahon family, but I don’t know if that’s a compliment or an insult.

 

Stephanie McMahon

 

What does she bring to the table apart from the right last name? For someone who grew up in wrestling, she knows fuck all about it. Just a terrible head writer and the inherent problems with the writing will never get better as long as Stephanie is head writer. Sadly, we all know the chances of her ever being removed from that position are just about zero. Even getting pregnant is unlikely to remove her from that position, and that might not happen, given that Hunter’s little swimmers must be drowning in a sea of drugs and stimulants.

 

Eric Bischoff

 

Eric got very lucky while heading WCW. He was able to talk the kind of corporate bullshit that the people at Turner could understand, and he got them to open up the wallet and pay for all the grandiose ideas that Eric has. And that is what brought down WCW from within; too much spending without a thought given to if what they were spending on was worth it. Of all the faults Eric had, and he had many, the biggest was that he listened to all the wrong people and was totally under the spell of Hulk Hogan. Eric remained convinced that no matter what happened, as long as he had Hogan then things would be fine. Even now Eric still believes that Hogan wasn’t part of the problem in WCW. That said, Eric does deserve credit for sparking off the Monday Night Wars, because without Nitro coming along and giving Vince McMahon a kick in the ass, none of the changes that revolutionized the wrestling industry were likely to have happened. Sadly, Eric’s legacy will forever be being one of the architects of the death of WCW.

 

Bill Watts

 

Bill Watts was one of the best bookers in wrestling. He had a tremendous mind for the business, a great eye for logic and small details, and was a great commentator as well. Unfortunately, his stint at WCW a complete and total failure, as Watts showed that had failed to move with the times.

 

Hulk Hogan

 

Hulk Hogan is the master when it comes to political maneuvering. When it comes to doing what is best for himself, regardless of whether it is the best thing for business, Hogan is the king. Hogan is the king of politics and the king of putting his ego ahead of what is best for business and what is the right thing to do. Hogan has derailed as many careers and pushes as Triple H, and is one of the most self serving, disingenuous and insincere people in wrestling, and that covers a lot of ground. I have never liked Hulk Hogan, even though there is this longstanding myth that claims that everyone was a fan of his at one point. I hate Hulk Hogan the character, and I despise Terry Bollea the human being. The sad thing is that they have been one and the same for a long time. Terry Bollea has so lost himself in the Hulk Hogan character that he can no longer separate them, and Terry Bollea the person truly believes he is Hulk Hogan the character. Bollea is also so lost in the idea of always working the people, read: lying to them, that he does it all the time and even lies when there is absolutely no reason to. I honestly believe that Terry Bollea is utterly incapable of telling the truth, and that he cannot help but lie and exaggerate everything he says. I’d feel sorry for him if I didn’t hate him so much.

 

Randy Savage

 

Randy Savage has truly gone off to where no man has gone before. A once great wrestler has completely lost himself in a world of lies and perpetual works. Sadly, the only one being ‘worked’ is Savage, but he is so far gone he doesn’t even know it.

 

Ultimate Warrior

 

Warrior makes some really outlandish statements at times, and I think this takes away from the fact that he can be a very intelligent man at times. I think Warrior would come across a lot better if he didn’t take fifteen pages to a write an opinion that could be better expressed in five.

 

Rock

 

Rock is without a doubt the most unselfish main event player in recent history, and maybe of all time. Nobody at his level, or even close to his level, has done as many jobs as he has, and done so so willingly. Rock is the ultimate team player. Rock is a hard worker, and while he isn’t the most technical of wrestlers; his sharpshooter is the drizzling shits, he more than makes up for it with timing, facial expressions, and selling. I hope Rock makes millions of dollars in movies and goes on to have a long and successful career in the mainstream entertainment industry.

 

HHH

 

As a wrestling talent, Triple H is a good worker. He can talk, he can work hard when he wants to, and he’s a decent hand to have on the roster. As a human being, Triple H is pure scum, and one of these days karma is going to bite him on the ass, and with what he has coming due to him, there won’t be anything left of Hunter to cry over.

 

Steve Austin

 

At his peak, Austin was a tremendous worker. He always worked hard, and often did so when it was best for his health that he didn’t. The biggest money maker that Vince McMahon has ever had, Austin was the key player in reviving the fortunes of the WWF. Austin always vowed he would never be the kind of politician that Hulk Hogan, but sadly, if expectedly, Austin wound up doing just that. While not on the scale of Hogan, Austin still used his political muscle to hold people down and stop programs he didn’t want to do, and while I agree with it in some cases, a lot of it was down to selfishness and ego,

If we’re talking solely about the Alexandra York character, then I enjoyed her. She was an enjoyable midcard character, and the York Foundation could have been a quality midcard stable, and filled the undercard with some solid matches.

 

Elizabeth

 

I was never a fan of Elizabeth. Elizabeth dying was her own fault.

 

Missy Hyatt

 

Again, never a fan of Missy, but she has a great body that seems to keep her head from floating away.

 

Beulah

 

Beulah seemed like a really nice person, who should never have had the hassle of being involved in wrestling. I was never that much of a fan of her character, but as a person I hope she stays out of wrestling now, and enjoys a life outside of the business.

 

Stan Hansen

 

Hansen was the best worker at being a complete bully and coming across as mean, angry and a totally unlikable bastard in the ring. Hansen showed a lot in being able to hang with the young crowd for as long as he did, and it’s a shame that he wasn’t able to retire in a manner more befitting of someone of his stature.

 

Vader

 

Vader was the best big man wrestler ever. He could work US style, Japan style, strong style, shoot style; Vader could just about do it all, and I’m convinced he could have pulled out some Lucha if he had put his mind to it. Time and injuries have not treated Vader well, and he is now a shell of his former great self, and I wish he would know enough to call it a day and retire from the ring.

 

Bam Bam Bigelow

 

In his prime, Bigelow was really good worker who put in the effort. It’s a shame that Bigelow has turned into a complete asshole and become a total mark for himself.

 

Michael "P.S." Hayes

 

Hayes could talk with the best of them. His ring work wasn’t as good as his mic work, but it wasn’t that bad really. Outside of The Freebirds unit, it seemed like Hayes was always treading water. Apart from a short feud with Ric Flair in 1988, bookers seemed to make that a self-fulfilling prophecy, as he was always treated as an afterthought when not in some form of the ‘birds.

Yeah, and in that manner it was a great send-off. But in-ring wise he spluttered around for a while, and his last match was teaming with Maunukea Mossman against, I think, Tenryu and Kawada in Budokan. I just think his last matches, and his last match especially should have had a better build, with maybe even a retirement tour of some kind.
