To answer the Willy Aybar question, last I read he was in Boston. Get'em gumshoes!

How am I supposed to find Willy Aybar? I don't even know where to buy lights on sticks!

Serious time!

How the Orioles do over the next 4 games will be very telling because everyone's been complaining that they're beating up on crap teams like KC and TB, and Toronto who is hurting really bad (Hence the winning 8 of their last 9). They get Oakland and Boston @ Home, and its vs Haren vs Bedard, Harden vs Guthrie, and the Boston series they face Schilling and Beckett.

I hope the entire weekend series with Sox/Jankees isn't going to be the ESPN/FOX two-headed monster.

Dealing with Kruk/Dusty/Ravech, Buck/McCarver/Rosenthal and finally Miller/Morgan left me questioning whether or not to just watch the highlights online the next morning. Awful, awful stuff.

Ugh...we have multiple TVs where I work, and one is usually on ESPN. Today, seemingly every time I've looked at it, I've seen something on the Red Sox/Yankees. The only other baseball item I've seen covered is Barry Bonds.

As if this is a departure from wall-to-wall Pirates? I don't know what you were expecting. Bitching about the arms race is passe-with-an-acute-over-the-second-e-that-I-don't-feel-like-pasting-in. Just deal.

It's what I expect from ESPN at this point. It's just silly that they can't take a break from discussing the two AL East teams (one of which is sub-.500 at this point, btw) to talk about anything else in MLB.

It actually makes a lot of sense. Lots of people are Yankees fans and Red Sox fans. They're reaching more people this way than they would covering the Astros and Brewers. Sweeping the Yankees is a pretty big deal, considering how great Rodriguez has been. Who cares if the Yankees are under .500? Why does that mean they can't be discussed? New York being under .500 is something to discuss. It's not as if they should fall off the planet the second they fall below the mark.

Well, there's other teams they can still discuss along with the Yankees. The Dodgers have one more win than the Red Sox right now (best record in the NL), but they seem to be off ESPN's radar pretty much. Hell, my own Brewers are in first place right now, first time in seemingly forever, and of course ESPN will never mention that fact.

Our local coverage is better than ESPN's, I don't need ESPN to cover the Dodgers.

Kaz Matsui apparently isn't going to play at all against the Mets due to injury, which is a real shame. I had hoped to see what kind of reaction the Shea crowd would give him.

Nobody likes the Brewers... not even the Brewers!

ESPN might cover them if the Sausages get into a fight or something.

I hope you are all sitting down when I tell you this...Rich Harden and Milton Bradley have both been placed on the DL. Really didn't see it coming with those two.

Last time I trust Bedard.

Fuck you, Marvin.

Another great line for Maine tonight (7.2 IP, 1 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 4 K), but it's worth mentioning that two balls hit off of him were mere feet from being home runs, one of which would have been a three-run, game-tying shot. He's pretty lucky that he ended up pitching mainly at Shea, since there are a lot of ballparks that don't take as kindly to such flyball pitchers.
