  1. As Alkeiper mentioned, Morton was accepted as a major singles challenger at that point simply due to the fact that him and Gibson were just super over with the fans, and it was another case of the big bad heels picking on baby-face Ricky Morton.
  2. That's true, but the truth should not make it any less funny. The two Taker entrances, and Flair at the Citrus Bowl, are both fantastic. Agreed... Flair's entrance at the Citrus Bowl was legendary.
  3. Nothing like a Raw from Canada... Here's hoping the crowd is in a festive mood.
  4. Patrice comes across as someone who wouldn't take it.
  5. He definitely needs a little more momentum than what he has now, which is why I figured he would have won Money in the Bank instead of Punk.
  6. With the title being vacant, it almost makes me think they have Edge win it in May, and then have Punk cash it in at One Night Only.
  7. I have a feeling this is going to lead to "Heel play by play guy" Mike Adamle.
  8. Or we remain in bizzaro land until the next 3 hour Raw, which is in June, isn't it? Anyways, if they wanted to do a belt stealing angle for another Edge/Taker match... did they have to vacate the title as well? Even with Orton and HHH in a cage, they could have had the Edgeheads steal the belt and then Taker challenge for a Last Man Standing match or something along those lines... even with the provision that his choke-hold is off limits.
  9. Just in time for the 100th episode next week...
  10. It's a Family Guy reference. Stewie saw a little girl crying and made the same comment about the WNBA.
  11. The ending reads like they took a page out of the Mid-South TV show's playbook.
  12. I'm impressed with Randy... he takes being a douche-bag to a whole new level. It's like an art form with him.
  13. Oh yeah... the "staticus" as we would call it in our youth. I know I'm pathetic. Never called it staticus, but man... I "listened" to a ton of ppv's that way.
  14. Who? There was talk about Umaga going to Smackdown and being a possible Summerslam opponent for the Undertaker.
  15. For me, it was right after Superbrawl in '98, where they did the Sting/Hogan rematch. A month after that we got Austin winning the World Title, the feud with McMahon hitting overdrive, and WCW was left in the dust creatively. Another big reason, for me at least, was this is when Flair had his spat with Bischoff and was off television, which was a big factor as well. For a sophomore/junior in high school, the height of the Attitude era was easily the way to go.
  16. My take on the subject is that wrestling was the "cool thing" to get into, thus attracting a lot of real casual fans who might have had a passing interest in it. Hulk Hogan being a heel, the NWO's dominance, and the emergence of the Stone Cold character all contributed to this. I remember back in high school (My freshman year started in '96, and I graduated in 2000 so it basically covered the bulk of the Monday Night War) - we had a core of die-hard fans, myself included, and then there was a large number of casual fans. After a Nitro or Raw or even Thunder came to town, you'd see a bunch of people in the school wearing NWO or Austin shirts because it was the "in thing" at the time. Like all fads, it played out, and the extremely casual fans found something else.
  17. Hayes's attitudes, if all that is true, isn't typical in the South no matter what some think. That was the point. Agreed. I've lived in Alabama all my life, and while there is still racism down here... it is nothing like the stereotypical view of this state or any state in the deep south.
  18. Punk didn't need it, and face "Kings" don't usually translate well. Besides, the Money in the Bank title has become bigger in terms of "elevating" someone.
  19. Every ruling Regal makes as general manager will now have royal authority behind it!
  20. ALL HAIL KING REGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. This looks like a dance-off in a bad 80's music video waiting to happen...
  22. UMAGA HATES DEMOCRACY!!!
  23. The same thing happened on Saturday Night Live Unfortunately, that's the exact line of logic they're using - because it happened on another television show, it can happen on our television show.
  24. Shakespeare, this isn't.
  25. I just wish we could get video of the writers' room when this segment was being developed.
