He was getting a lot of attention as the Lightning Kid in GWF prior to coming to WWF, and I think that had more to do with his push than anything else. He had only worked about 3 or 4 televised matches before he went over Razor.

Chyna didn't kick him out of DX, so he had no reason to have a beef with her. Then why did he hate DX when he was commish? Or is this all Vince Russo loopholes I'm missing. Wasn't Chyna off TV for much of that? She made her return from surgery the week before Shawn turned actually.
-
To make HHH and DX think that it was all love, so they'd be more unsuspecting when he turned on them down the line. And besides, it's Chyna. Everybody loves Chyna, right?
-
Since when is March late 1998? Shawn turned on DX in Nov. 98. And I took Shawn's comment to mean that the seeds for the feud were planted 10 years ago, not that they were feuding for 10 years.
-
Did HHH ever, at any point in his feud with HBK, mention how Shawn left hanging in 96 after the Kliq curtain call? Considering how bitter HHH's character was about the punishment he received from the office, you'd think this would've been an obvious booking move to explain the heat between the two.

Well, in 97, they revealed on-air that HHH and Shawn had been friends in the Kliq since 95.

There was one match (can't remember which one) where they had the ladders set up like a see-saw. Matt was on the mat next to the ladder, when someone (Bubba or Jeff one) fell on the elevated end, causing the ladder to snap up and hit Matt in the head. I dunno if that spot was planned or not, but that was fucking nasty!

Not that I can recall, but he and IRS won the tag titles shortly after the Rumble, and I always assumed that was the reason. I've got an old WWF magazine lying around somewhere with an article on this. Maybe I'll dig it up if I'm not too lazy. From what I can remember from my head, the heels were beginning to get out of control (this was around the time that Flair won his second title with the help of Perfect) and Slaughter was made an official in order to maintain order. Never saw the match, but according to WWF magazine, she was overwhelmed by both men and fainted. It started in spring 94 when Ted Dibiase bought Nikolai Volkoff. He had returned to the WWF after being down on his luck, and joined up with Ted because he needed the money. He was forced to wear a "Property of the Million Dollar Man" shirt and everything. They teased a face turn for a few months, but over time, they added guys like IRS and Tatanka to the group, and the whole storyline was basically forgotton. Jim Neidhart had a match with Ric Flair on Superstars or Wrestling Challenge. Flair beat him with the Figure Four and injured his knee in the process. While he was being helped from the ring, the Beverly Brothers were headed out to ringside, and for whatever reason, they decided to attack Neidhart, injuring his knee further. The injury put Neidhart out of action (he was scheduled to wrestle at the Survivor Series), and he wanted revenge against the Beverlys, so he brought in Owen Hart in order to even things up.

I like Kelis. Her album is nice, IMO, and Milkshake grows on you after a while. As for Afroman...this is the single worst diss I've ever heard.

I swear man, you damn lefties are all alike. Give em an inch, and they take an ell. -
I like the Flair one. I'd definitely pick that one up.

I just saw an advertisement on AOL the other day advertising scholarships for left-handed people. How come nobody ever makes an issue out of those? -
Guess this is somewhat related. I heard on Celebrity Justice today that the guy Kanye hit in his accident is getting ready to sue him. He said something about Kanye offering contradicting statements about the cause of the accident (first he said he fell alseep at the wheel, then he said that he was cut off at an intersection), and to top it off, he hasn't received any money from Kanye for damages. He suffered two broken knee caps and was forced to take a year off from his job. Thoughts? Comments?

Ok, it's generally accepted that Brock/Goldberg was terrible...possibly the worst match in Wrestlemania history. However, I like the match because it's great to watch the crowd turn on the wrestlers there. The crowd made it a markout moment for me, and for that alone, I'd give it at least ****. Easily my favorite bad match. So that got me thinking, what are some of your favorite bad matches? Another one I like is Mabel/Diesel from SummerSlam 95. This is regarded as probably the worst main event ever, but I can't help but laugh whenever I watch it. Lex Luger's run-in MAKES this match for me. The ref goes down and Mo and Mabel start beating up Diesel, and out comes Lex to Diesel's aid (and to a huge pop from the crowd). When he gets to the ring though, Diesel hits him with a forearm (the crowd reaction makes me laugh my ass off) then clotheslines him over the top rope. Lex stays down for about a minute or two, then suddenly gets up like nothing happened and chases Mo back to the locker room. I also like how Mabel oversells Diesel's finishing move. Disel finishes him with a WEAK looking flying clothesline, and post-match, Mabel acts punch drunk, stumbling around the ring for about a minute or two before collapsing (the camera angle and the way everything starts to shake when he falls makes this hilarious to me). I also like Steiner/HHH from Rumble 03, for reasons similar to Brock/Goldberg.

My brother used to work at the Vet back in the day. I remember the time he got me an Eagles practice ball signed by a few of the players. I wonder whatever happened to that ball?

Matt Hardy going off the ladder backwards in one of the TLC matches. You couldn't pay me to do that.

http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=42696 That sums it up pretty well.

Not totally sure how to explain it, but people wear stocking caps to make waves in their hair. Also, people with braids wear them to keep their hair from getting messed up.
-
How about HHH? His heat dropped off a bit between his turn against DX and his picking up "My Time" as his theme. WWF Tazz could probably fall in this category too.

Did WWE always take signs away at live events? I remember seeing them take away some ECW signs at Mind Games in 96, but in 97, I remember the announcers talking about how they encouraged freedom of speech and actually knocking WCW for planting and taking away signs at shows.
