That is quite a season. I just recall him being injured that year and having 313 k's in 213 innings in 99. That is a beyond scary whip.

Can someone please give a review of the Xbox 360 DLC out. I have the PS3 version and I am looking to switch to the darkside and pick up the 360 version. I am beyond pissed that the PS3 gets screwed over.

Superbowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals

I miss the days when In Living Color had a Halftime show. Or when Celeb Fighting on MTV had a halftime show. -
I do not think I have ever seen a thread on this topic on any sites. I am looking for which players in any sport had the best single season and never matched that success at any other point in their careers. I think of Aaron Small who went 10-0 with a 3.2 era for the Yankees in 2005. Another player who comes to mind is Kevin Maas who hit 21 homeruns in half a season for the 1990 Yankees and was out of the league by 1992. I know that there are better examples. Davey Johnson hitting 43 homeruns for the 73 Braves comes to mind but he was a multiple time all star. Same thing for Brady Anderson hitting 50 plus for the 96 Orioles. Can a mod please change the title to Biggest Flash in the Pan. My computer was messing up.

Without looking at Stats Orel 1988, Pedro 1999, Gooden 1985, Ron Guidry 1978., Greg Maddux 1995.

Overturned 4th and inches. Do the Steelers go for it? -

Yeah, Steve Perry wouldn't come back to the band so they found some guy on Youtube from the Phillipeans (sp) that sounded exactly like him. Apparently he hates being on tour with the band and wants to go back to his hut. Wasn't the second lead singer of Journey named Steve as well and looked/sang just like Steve Perry? Rodney Harrison can go fuck himself with his cheap shot against the Giants. -

Random encounter is beyond awful during the Snes/PS1 era days. Go play a game like Beyond the Beyond and enjoy having a random encounter for every 2 steps you take. -
I don't have a family to feed, but let's say it costs, eating all .99 cent burgers and fries, 12 bucks for a family of four to eat at McDonald's. (Six burgers, four fries, tax). Could a traditional meal for a family of four really cost that much? On the other hand, I mentioned to my Dad last week, who's equally hooked on Hot n Ready from Little Caesars, that I couldn't get three meals from the grocery store for seven dollars. (Three slices for dinner, two for lunch, three for dinner, and some cola). It would be cheaper for a family of 4 to just buy hamburger meat, buns, bag of chips and soda at the store. McDonald's profits are soring more likely due to the single individual. A person can go there and get 2-3 dollars worth of food which would fill them up.

So what you are trying to say is that MTV2 is just a time warp kind of channel that is stuck showing MTV shows from 5-7 years past. That means in 5 years, MTV2 will be showing Daddys Girls, The City and The Hills. -
I know that it wasn't on snick but what about the guessing game show that Summer Sanders hosted around 1996? I used to watch that all the time because of her. Snick was the best when it had Are You Afraid of the Dark.

I hear you. I want the Show 09, I already preordered Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5 and Legends of Wrestlemania all come out by mid March. I still have to get GOW 2 and beat that. Godfather 2 looks promising but I wouldn't have time to play it until late summer.
-
I made an official Killzone 2 Thread. I thought that a potential GOTY deserves it's own thread. It is down on the message board list. Dobbs I understand where you are coming from and I feel the same way But Amazon has the game on sale for 52 shipped. I couldn't pass that up.

This is Varitek's own fault. If he honestly thought another team would give him more than 10 million, more than one year after he hit .220 he is beyond dumb.
-
espn.com is reporting that Varitek's deadline doesn't really exist.

Tom Chambers has over 20'000 Career points. Every other player who has done so is either in the Hall of Fame or going to be in the Hall of Fame. Correction, Artis Gilmore isn't in either. That is 2 players out of 36 who aren't in with that feat. I was under the impression that 20'000 points was comparable to 3000 hits, 500 HR's.

Michael Holley reported something similar in WEEI. Tek, in my opinion, is making a huge mistake if he rejects this offer. He cant be that dumb can he? Does he want to retire because he feels insulted by the offer and or because he wants more money, or is it because he knows that he is no longer productive? Where is the market for him? Does he think that if he sits out 2009 and the market improved he will get more money in 2010?

Thank you! I do not want to hear that someone cant afford an Xbox 360 by now. The system has been out for a little over 3 years now. I was able to purchase a new 360 60gb model for 270 off of Dell.com. That equals out to me saving one quarter for everyday over the last 3 years. The PS3 is now 330 off of Dell.com. That equals what 30-35 cents a day saving over the lifespan of the system so far? Another thing I do not want to see is videogame developers having to dumb down games so they can make it for every system possible.

I would have loved to have seen Lee make it but cant argue with Bosh getting in over him. If Lee didn't start the season coming off the bench his #'s would be a little bit better. His PPG and RPG have improved the last month compared to the first two. I am suprised that Mo Williams didn't get in over Jameer Nelson or Devin Harris. The Cavs only having one all star? I also would have had Ray Allen over Granger who is playing on a horrible Pacers team. Also, Al Jefferson deserves to be in over Shaq.

What? The controls are very similiar to the past games. You are going to be willing to wait 2 and a half years to play a port? You do understand that it is a demo?

IGN just reviewed the game and gave it a 9.4. I am so much looking forward to this game. I still have to beat Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 before I pick up this game in a month. For those who are interested in buying the game, Amazon.com has it listed for 56.99 with a 5 dollar coupon which brings it down to 51.99. You also can get free shipping and not have to pay tax on the game. Amazon also doesn't charge you on the game until it is shipped. The game ships March 3rd/4th. Coupon: KZ2SAVE5

WWE General Discussion - January 2009

A 30 Rock reference! -
My main problem with the whole angle is that they make Orton look like the biggest pussy on the third biggest Raw of the year. The other two being the Monday night before WrestleMania to sell the show and the Monday night after WrestleMania. The WWE had a huge bump in the ratings the week before and going into the Rumble. What do they do after the Rumble? They have Orton come out and blame him his actions on IED and threaten to sue the company. They then have Shane beat up all of Legacy and kill every degree of heat that the group has formed. WWE could have presented Orton as being the next big thing to all of the casual viewers who turned in the last 2 weeks and they presented him as nothing more than a Pussy who hides behind lawyers and gets his ass kicked by the 40 year old bosses son.

Hogan, Rock, Big Show, DiBiase & Foley? What a bizarre selection... What is the deal with the tapes at the bottom. Legends of Wrestling. One has Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell. -
I am amazed that the Knicks are tied for a playoff spot this late in the season. This was supposed to be another throw away year for Mike D and the boys.
