Ahaha... *bans Rant* Who's laughing now? I know Brett Favre and Al Harris are laughing after they ripped your precious Seahawks up in the playoffs. And to think that Hasselback was supposed to take over as starter for Favre when he would retire...
-
Rice can still ball (which you couldn't tell since Gannon never looked down the field to Jerry who was open more than half the time he ran out). Brown was downright embarassing to watch as he just dropped pass after pass. He is one of the Raider's best WR's of all time but he needs to step down and let someone else take his spot. I think Tim would do a good job as a WR coach which is something I'm sure Davis will offer him (while Al might be shrewd at times, he takes very good care of many of his former players after they leave football).
-
The main problem with guys like T.Brown and Rice is that after the Superbowl they signed *6* year-deal contracts (which luckily came with an option by the team to cut them whenever necessary). The problem though is that neither one of those guys are going to step aside and let the WR unti grow (i.e. get new young guys). Seeing Tui (Marquez Tuiasapopo) go down in his first game as a starter was the real heartbreak for the season for me though. The team (or the fans) don't even know if Tui is the real deal and he gets swat down by injury in the first outing people could have graded him on. With that, Gannon can probably hold the team hostage because from everything I've heard, much of the front office isn't sure Tui is ready and everyone is in panic mode so Gannon looks like he'll be allowed to start next season. If Gannon was a horse, he would have been taken out to the glue factory a long time ago.

Pretty much. This is why I was hoping Art Shell would come back in and be the lame duck coach who is forced to cut Gannon, Brown, Rice (albeit the best one of this group), Woodson, and possibly Garner (has maybe 2 good years left in him, poor guy). Of course Al paying dick to his coaches doesn't help matters. And John Madden has always brought up how Al likes to test his coaches and make them "think on their feet" which has rubbed many folks the wrong way. This next season is going to be ugly for the Raiders. Plain and simple. This is the worst possible rebuilding scenario in football where the starters are loaded with old guys who need to retire and the team is capped to the point where they can't go out and buy some new decent starters. In the draft, the Raiders need to either choose one of the hot new QB's or give their draft spot to some other team for a handful of picks because right now this team is looking like they could possibly be worse than 4-12 next season now that Norv fucking Turner is the head coach. Just an ugly situation all around.

From ESPN: I wish Davis would have waited after the Superbowl to hire a new coach because then the team could have possibly hired Romeo Crennel from the Pats. Ugh...Turner. The stench of loser continues to fill my beloved team's locker room.

Now that O'Brien resigned, I think Scott might have just found himself a new job (too bad Grizzlies, nothing against Hubie).
-
I can see Scott taking over for old Hubie Brown down in Memphis shortly here (West and Scott still keep in touch from what I understand). I think that once Phil Jackson retires from coaching, I could see Byron returning to the team as their head coach and successor to Coach Jackson. As a Lakers fan I wish Byron the best of luck.

Best Batman: TAS fight: Batman vs. Bane. "SCREAM MY NAME!!!!!" - Bane "Never..." - Batman (in the comic he said "Go back to Hell") When Bane picked up Bats and was ready to break him over his knee, I honestly thought that FOX was going to pull the trigger and let Bane do it... I also marked out when Bats pulled off 2, count'em 2, hurricanrana's on Bane (with Bane blocking the 3rd). I won't dispute Samurai Jack having the better fights out of the cartoon choices given in this pole. I have only seen a couple SJ episodes but I enjoyed them.

Congrats Matt. As a fellow Californian, I wish you the best and hope that you enjoy your time here. Be sure to hit the beaches in summer and make sure you bring *lots* of sun block. Also, steer clear of Oakland. Just saying.

Conservative High schooler stirs up trouble
Sass replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
Sorry for veering off topic here folks. As a fitness freak (and the WSM trainee that BX mentioned), a 56 year-old man running a 7:30 mile is *damn* impressive (but like Marney pointed out, that's impressive for anyone of any age). My father is a couple years younger than Bush and he runs every other day at the beach for about 2 miles but could never run a mile in less than that amount of time. I hope that when I'm 56 I'll be able to run a 7:30 mile and not feel like my chest is on fire afterwards. My hat goes off to President Bush for being in such fit shape (and even more impressive is how he fits his work-out time into what is probably a loaded schedule). -
Yo Hoff, fix your avatar f00kr.

DD ran into the same problem as Spider-Man: It tried to tell every "great" Bullseye/Elektra/Kingpin all at once and it came off like convoluted non-stop action crap with nothing in-between. This is why I am not a big fan of any of the Marvel movies because except X2 since they actually managed to slow things down and give the characters breathing time in-between the action scenes and give us *good* dialogue that didn't sound like absolute tripe.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall something with Downhome in the Movies folder where people could get free (?) movie stuff but ended up having to pay for it later. That seemed to upset some folks with Downhome.

I'll send Dames your way Ill. I recall you mentioning how the board could be improved so I'm all for it.

I was always bigger than my friends growing up (still am) and since my last name is Sass, I got the nickname Sassquatch from them and it just stuck. I recently shortened the name though seeing because people call me "Sassquatch" in posts instead of just Sass looked odd to me.

I feel for you Mike. My first ever real girlfriend did a number on me (lies, deception, but no cheating involved) and I thought I would never find a "good" woman again or fall in love again (I was a freshmen in high school at the time so damned if I knew what 'love' really was at that point). All my friends were telling me how she was not someone I should go out with and she would end up hurting me. I blew them all off because I was in "love" and figured that I was invincible and knew *everything* there was to making the relationship successful. I turned out to be wrong and it took a while for me to recover from the ordeal but I moved on. I wasn't crippled or dead so I had another shot at finding love with someone else. I managed to find a girl who shared a lot of the same aspirations and ideas as I did and we have been together for about 6 years now. You might have to look for a while but you'll find the "right" girl at some point. You are a really smart guy Mike and I doubt women let this go unnoticed, albeit they don't directly tell you to your face. I'm sure some girl will bring this to your attention at some point and you'll find out that she is right (no pun intended) for you. I wasn't aware that the fight caused such a commotion that the neighbors were brought into it which sounds like it was as bad as you said it was. Having a brother who works in law probably has it's perks in a case like this so I'd probably let him handle things for you (if anything else needs to be dealt with from a legal standpoint). Of course you probably realize this but that's still pretty cool that you have a brother who works in law. Maybe what you need is a fresh change of scenary as from what I can gather from your posts, you aren't too happy living in SC. So perhaps the Florida house (RIP your grandmother) is just what you need. It doesn't hurt that many of the women down there are probably ridiculously hot so maybe taking it easy in Daytona is just what you need. Don't let the bitch knock you out from the possibility of finding love again Mike.

Love (if you did love her) tends to blind folks. I'd say that I'm in more of a precarious situation than you based on my size (I'm 6'10") and that would make it hard for a police officer to be understanding to me flooring some psycho girl who was hitting the crap out of me (not to mention damn risky since I could possibly injure her badly or worse). It's really a lose-lose situation no matter what. You might think you ignored some red flags but I doubt you were prepared for her going nuts on you so don't be shouldering too much of the blame on yourself. If you did see the fight coming then I'd say you handled it the best way possible. Bitches be trippin'. How is she up North? Did you not press charges against her?
-
Mike: I wanted to say that when you made your post a couple months back in the LSD folder about how your crazy ex (?) attacked you, I thought that was very ballsy of you to do so since I doubt many other guys here (or even in 'real' public) would admit to such a thing. Just wanted to get that out.

Just to clear something up, I have been sober for about 5 years now and have not indulged in anything alcohol or drug related during this time. If I got behind the wheel of a car intoxicated and I hit someone or killed myself, I would not want anyone, be it family or friends, to feel sorry for me since I was the one who got into the car and got behind the wheel without thinking about the probable consequences of me driving drunk and/or stoned. Oh and part of me feels sorry for the kids only because they were young (being a dad now I'm more sympathetic to situations like these) but the kids did themselves in and I hope their parents realize this. Hopefully some folks (namely high schoolers) can learn from something like this and not go around thinking they are invincible (like CC brought up).

Actually, CWM's initial post has merit to it if the history at this board is any inidcation. "Big" troll gets banned, someone new who never really "upset" people becomes the new board's punching bag/troll.
-
Consider this a "classic," back when folks could get along with one another...oh wait, they never could.
-
I don't think Downhome is as bad as some have made him out to be. I think folks who constantly complain about TSM should just leave if they really feel this board is as bad as they say it is. I don't see what would be stopping them since no one has a contract with the site (except us mods who signed the papers in blood).

In reality, I just felt left out of the party is all. ::slumps in the corner sobbing salty tears of sadness::

I was the one who banned Johnson. My explanation for his banning can be found here in case anyone is wondering where this all went down at. I fail to see how banning Johnson would constitute a thread like this but that's just my two cents.

I wish I had an answer for you but the "death" rule came into play before I became a mod so perhaps Dames or someone else would have an answer for you.
