Yeah but I'm going to school to be a sports journalist. What if fighting doesn't pan out? Being a journalist is something you have to start early with or else you're screwed...isn't it? Because I thought it was all about seniority. At least that's how it is around here. And plus journalism is such a demanding job isn't it? I mean you're constantly on the go. Or should I just become a camera man? haha.

I just watched the Ultimate Fighter finale......WOW. Forest and Stephan had a war. That was awesome. How'd you feel about them both being offered a contract? And how have they done in the UFC so far? And did that punk Diego ever get knocked out?

Well this is all far away after I get in better shape and get proper training. Then again it's really hard to do all of that while going full time to college and working. I mean it's not like I can quit everything and dedicate my life to something as unsure as fighting.

I didn't know forms of karate and tae kwon do or what not would help with ultimate fighting. I always figured that those only worked in a tournament situation and I didn't even think they helped out in self defense. So what style do most of the strikers utilize? Straight up boxing? Kick-boxing? Muay Thai? Taking the boxing class will help out my striking a lot won't it?

So I was doing judo for fun and fitness and maybe some competition but now all these jiu-jitsu guys are getting in my ear and telling me I need to do MMA because they think I'm strong and one of them had me hit on the bag and said that I hit really hard but I needed technique. How much will judo even help in MMA? You can't really use any judo throws can you? And what striking should I learn?

I've only watched the first two TUF DVD's and I saw Leben get eliminated and then brought back. That was fine except he didn't really get beat up when he was eliminated. Has anybody whipped his ass really good yet? Like on the show or in the UFC?

You know watching that Beyond the Glory I realized that the first couple of UFCs might not be good to see real MMA but they're awesome to see brutality and someone just whipping someone else's ass with strikes....right?

I like the Pistons starting 5.....if they broke it up I wouldn't like them but right now I find those 5 immensly entertaining.

Jason White was on the radio this morning defending Leinart to the NFL scouts saying that he's really good and blah blah blah. Seriously when did these two start going out? They talked on the phone last year, hung out at the Heisman ceremony together, shared a warm embrace at the Heisman ceremony last year, and then this year apparently White bought Leinart dinner while they were in NYC.

I wish that FSN special on the history of UFC would come on again. I remember it being really interesting.

So does anyone think Leinart should've been first team All-American over Young? Apparently it was a topic on Cold Pizza and Skip Bayliss wasn't happy about it.

Honestly I'm just learning it b/c it gets me in better shape and it's nice to know that you can handle yourself if something goes down.

When does TUF 3 start? And why did TUF 2 suck?

There's also a guy at my school that teaches boxing. I was wondering if that would be fun to take as well.

I rented the first Ultimate Fighter DVD and it's pretty entertaining. I wish one of these guys would mouth off though and Chuck and Randy would say "shut your mouth or i'll shut it for you" b/c you know they can take any of the guys on this show...can't they?

Well you can really hurt someone with striking if you're a lot stronger than them. What I was saying was that if you don't want to hurt them or get into too much trouble then you slap a blood choke on and let him pass out and it's over and nobody is hurt.

Damn religious people. Anyway I thought it was funny that the oldest boy was trying to sword fight the witch and she was just doing it so effortlessly. She knew what she was doing.....which is weird for a woman. Anyway I wondered how the kids were suddenly so good with their weapons when they'd probably never handled one before?

Well Stoops was 3-1 in bowls and had a national title in his second season. Then it all fell apart the last two years. Two years ago b/c the driving force of his offense should've by all rights been in a wheel chair and the guy that fired his defense up was taking another coaching position. Mike Stoops didn't coach in the Big XII title game or the first half of the Sugar Bowl and OU got lit up. He got on headset in the second half of the Sugar Bowl and LSU had like one first down. Then in his second straight bowl loss he basically had a team with no heart going up against a much better team. I mean I still think USC would've won if OU had been playing with heart but it wouldn't have been as bad. The Sugar Bowl I think could've been a deal where if they played 10 times then OU wins 5 or 6. The Orange Bowl was a deal where if they played 10 times then USC wins 9.

So how much is judo and jiu-jitsu going to help me if it comes to some bar fight or something? I've never started a fight but I've had a couple started with me. I'm usually able to handle myself b/c it's some smaller guy with a chip on his shoulder but I mean I'm fucked if I get into it with someone who's my size and has been in some fights. So it'd be nice to have this stuff as defense. I suppose you can even save yourself from having to hurt someone if you know some good chokes.
